I can’t argue with that really. Just look at that left side with Robbo, Barnes and Suarez! Nothing would get past Masch, VVD and Carra thru the middle! What a triumvirate of a right hand side with Trent, Gerrard and Salah! God up top scoring from anywhere.

The only change, maybe, Sami for Carra but I like the idea of Carra nurturing the defensive side of Trent’s game (which needs improvement). Masch is contentious because of the way he left the club but on his day he was immense. Some will want Alonso, Torres, Owen, Mane et al in the there but what a subs bench it would be too!

I’d have Babbel or Finnan ahead of TAA at RB and Alonso in there somewhere. Maybe even Dirk Kuyt just to get him in there somehow.

Anybody know where Teamtalk gets all the rubbish they publish under Euro Paper Talk? Over the last few months every single player and his dog was about to sign for Liverpool they regularly come up with crap like Tino Werner has one more hurdle so sign for Liverpool etc etc

I’d put either Hyypia or Gomez in there for Carra and stick Henderson in for Mascherano, this current side is just the strongest I’ve seen in the last three decades! I’m tempted to put both Mane and Firmino in there as well…

Mane instead of Fowler all day long.

Hyppia or Matip instead of Carragher

And I don’t know what Barnes, a winger, is doing in midfield, or in this team either. His best days were before the PL, 1987-1991

True about Barnes but I’d take Fowler… he was lethal and suited to our current crop of forwards… he scored from every angle, the best finisher out here, Owen doesn’t even compare. Fowler also pressed the ball like crazy and with the current physios he would have lasted a lot longer.
