Your call Jeano, I was happy to keep playing Benteke until Wickham became available. Now he is out let’s go back to bagging Hennessey as he seems to have escaped scrutiny lately?

Ok… good question… Zaha will be going up front, but… We have another youngster joining the squad, a young striker called James Daly, he’s a Brighton lad who was rejected by Brighton and has joined Palace and from what I am hearing, he’s banging in the goals at under 23’s and will be added to the squad, has been training with first team and withdrawn from U23’s.

Can’t remember who was asking for some more youth players to be used, but this could be it… Of course what would be brilliant would be a great display that leads him to play against Brighton and score the winner against the club that rejected him.. Fairytale enough?

I’ve been asking for the young guns to be given a go for 3 years now. Too late Roy you have had months to do it and like others before you don’t have the stomach just like Pardew and Sam. Surely Aaron Win Bissaka has shown you that it can work. I hope Daly gets more than 5 minutes.

He didn’t even get a run and once again no changes off the bench. That must be a reason for conceding so late?

Perth, I think it is not to be expected that we will see youngsters coming into these final games of the season unless we get even more injuries. It will be the experienced and physical abilities that will be prioritized in the crunch games coming up.
I had my doubts about playing Zaha and Townsend up front but that means passes on the ground and behind defenders. That works very well with the speed and technical abilities of the two. I think dropping Benteke and continuing with the way we played yesterday will suit our players better and hopefully lead to a higher conversion of chances to goals.
That said, if we are safe before the final game I would love to see some of our hot prospects making their debut and get the motivation for a push next year.

Norwegian, Sam said exactly the same thing last year that he’d play the youngsters when we were safe, well that didn’t eventuate. I do not believe using 1 youngster will hurt they will have lots of run and be trying their hardest, can’t do any worse. As for Zaha and Townsend playing up front it only really worked in the second half when the game opened up for in the first half it was failing miserably. When they broke they had no focal point to pass to and had to wait until everyone else caught up, we need a a holding front man and that is the style we have been used to for years.
