Morning Steveo – I surprised myself that I watched the whole thing but considering a serious lack of shots on goal, by either side, it actually wasn’t a bad game. Their penalty was the only real effort on goal that they had and, apart from that, we were totally dominant.
Wilshere was very lively and looking like he might push for a place in the first team soon. Maitland-Niles also looked good and Nketiah gets you excited every time he touches the ball.
All-in-all, considering we made 11 changes from the Spud game and we were already qualified, it’s hard to be too upset over the result.
And I’ll hold my hands up, I was embarrassed that we’re even in this competition and to start off with, really didn’t give a toss how far we got. Now I’m starting to think about the knock-out stages and the fact that Wenger will surely player a stronger side – we have a great chance of our first European trophy since ’94.
