Steve – I don’t want to start another ruffle with you because I think you’re one of the few who actually like to discuss football(even though our opinions differ variably),but why the hell do you tend to get carried away so easily? One week you come on and say we’re top of the league and we’re looking good for the title, we lose two games and it’s wenger out and mentality is not good enough etc. Now,we suddenly have the best squad in the PL.

Listen,we certainly have our best squad in years, but there’s nothing to suggest that ours is the best. Why did we get knocked out of the league cup? Please don’t get tend to get carried away just after one single game.

And to my defense, it’s not at all true that I don’t support my team. But I like to take my time and judge us over a period of time.I always said and still say let alone winning it we won’t even come close to the title. And we’ll still go trophyless.Because we love to bottle it against top teams.

Surely the point of this thread was we have the best squad of players in the premier league not whether we have the best manager or not and certainly I believe we have the best 25 – two top players in every position and some fantastic young talent mixed with great experience.

Shifty – the fact its a reserve game is the point mate, a reserve team with Welbeck, Walcott, Perez, the ox, Gibbs, Ospina? Have we ever had a better squad? I don’t think so.

specialone.if you’re offended by me saying we have the best squad
or just write a post in good taste that we are top of the prem lge,
how briefly it was, then you really do have issues don’t you.if
someone other than myself had said the same or have said the same
thing over the years i respect their opinion.

the amount of times i could have responded to posts on here over
the years but don’t bother because every single fan has a right to
    their own opinion.next time citeh,pool,spuds,utd play,have a look
at their bench compared to ours.i think we are the only club to
have 3 top scores in the top 13 in the prem lge.

lets see if you get this once and for all because i’m sick and
tired of explaining it to you.i’ve said we have the best squad in
the prem lge after we made the signings we made.now i think it’s
fair and normal to judge each and every game on it’s merits.if we
play and win,or if we lose, debate those issues as to why either
    happened.

you are a big klopp fan, right.well he isn’t exactly setting the
world alight is he.and just for the record i wanted guardiola in
charge but he hasn’t been that great has he??another record i’ll
set straight is i’ve wanted a change of manager for the past 3/4
years now.one of the reasons is i don’t think he’s got the best
out of this squad and it’s those small margins that make the small
    differences in the big games.

wenger is not a bad manager and things aint certainly knowhere
near as bad as some of us think at times.wenger has a great record
against the smaller teams but looks to make the wrong selection or
tactics in some of the big games.look at klopp, great record this season
against top teams but messes up in the smaller games.i happen to think
a more defensive coach will make the difference.what i don’t get
and will never understand is the hate for him which is pathetic from
    any true gooner.

    i don’t give a toss if we beat chelski 3-0,beat a second string so’ton
team 5-0,or beat a non lge team 1-0.as long as we win i’m easily
has happy.if i had just come on here to say all of a suddenly we had
the best squad in the prem lge,BUT THE TRUTH IS I’VE SAID IT SINCE
SEPT/OCT.hardly changing my opinion is it.another thing what i don’t
get is why some of you care that much.it’s pathetic don’t you think.

So fat mop you’re now claiming this is the best squad we have ever had ‘the fact its a reserve game is the point mate, a reserve team with Welbeck, Walcott, Perez, the ox, Gibbs, Ospina? Have we ever had a better squad? I don’t think so’. All players that constantly get criticised non-stop by you and your Wengie cohorts. So according to you that squad is better than Lehmann, Lauren, Cole, Campbell, Toure, Vieira, Gilberto, Ljungburg, Pires, Bergkamp, Henry, Parlour, Edu, Reyes, Clichy, Fabregas, Wiltord, Kanu, Keown, van Bronckhorst, Seaman, Taylor, Flamini, van Persie. and others. That’s the problem with lack of knowledge, it makes you look daft. Exactly the point I was making.

Me daft. Those players were not in the same squad. How many games did Fabregas play with Vieira? Seaman and Lehman in the same squad? Van Perise and Wiltord linked up well did they? Stuart Taylor!

Look, not for a moment do I think we have anywhere near the best 11 but this is the most strength in depth we have ever had. Have a think before you post again.

fat mop, all of those players were in the squad in 2004, they all made at least one appearance during that season. I’d give up now. Still never mind, the current squad is the best we have ever had, maybe they will go 50 games unbeaten.

Seaman and Lehmann were not in the same squad. Look it up because clearly your memory is not serving you well. Again, I am not saying we have the best 11 I’m saying we have the deepest squad and Wenger has more options than ever.

Lets look at the 2003-2004 squad.

Take out the first 11 so out go Lehmann, Lauren, Sol, Toure, Cole, Gilberto, Vieria, Ljundburg, Pires, Bergkamp and Henry.

Who’s left if all fit: Taylor, Hoyte, Keown, Cygan, Clichy, Edu, Parlour, Cesc, Reyes, Kanu, Wiltord.

    Is that better than:

Ospina, Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Gibbs, Niles, Adelaide, the ox, Welbeck, Perez and walcott?

Keown, Parlour and Cesc stand out but Keown was at the end of his career and only just played enough games to get a league medal. Cesc was 16, Clichy had hardly played and Kanu was fading.

Chelsea have the best squad in the prem and I’m the biggest Arsenal fan ever! So I win.

in other news spurs fluked it through Watford seem to only get worse! And it’s alleged allegri has/is being lined up to take over from wenger should he not sign.

Anyone got any thought on that? Personally think it would be a good move. There was a great piece on sky.com about him and what he did for The old lady after conte left, worth a read. Will post up if I can find it.

fat mop, this is getting better, you still insist the current squad is the BEST EVER. So if you only played once in 2003-04 and if you played in the League Cup it doesn’t count. Dahhhh, what was that match in the other night, the one you got so excited about. On top of that first XI players don’t count, you take them out and what does that leave you with. Oh yes, apparently Bellerin and Welbeck who ARENT first choice players. I can’t stop laughing.

It’s not me making squads up. Google the 2004 squad, then look at your list, then realise your mistakes, then read properly what I have said. Then and only then give your opinion, if you so wish.

Squirming now fat mop. Let me help, as I said Lehmann and Seaman were both at Arsenal in 2003, Lehmann replaced Seaman who went to Man City, the season we are referring to is 2003-04. All of the other players mentioned played at least one game but apparently First XI’s don’t count and Bellerin is only a reserve according to you. I’d shut up now, the hole is getting bigger. Best squad EVER, you said it lol.

So fat mop, does this mean Watford have the best squad in the PL because it certainly looked better than our bunch of 2nd rate bottlers.

Oh fat mop, Football doesnt work like that!!!!, but but we have the best squad we have EVER had, we are going to win the PL, you said so. You’re the one who needs to grow up, grow up and realise your hero is never going to assemble the best squad in the PL again and he is never going to win the PL again. The only person you’re fooling is yourself. Wenger hasn’t assembled the best squad we have ever had, he has assembled a bunch of bottlers who only care about being paid. When will you muppets ever learn.
