Ok all I have to say is if Sterlings was a yellow why wasn’t Daniels? He ran to the same place as Sterling did and even angryly booted the hoardings? It’s just that no Bournemouth fans jumped over the hoardings. Can someone please explain what was do different that one deserved a yellow and the other didn’t. It’s not funny anymore!!!
August 27, 2017 at 8:43 am #1522997Goatistuta – I posted the same question on Twitter, with photos of Daniels’ celebration and Sterling’s. Neither of them entered the crowd seating area.
Mike “the ego” Dean saw Raheem in a crowd of fans, with police and stewards struggling to contain them, and punished Raheem, unfairly in my view.
Mind you, amid all the post-match storm about that and the Aguero incident where the steward lied, I think it’s worth saying that if the City fans had stayed behind the barrier there would have been no problem at all.Much has been made about police/stewards over-reacting, but (and judging by social media this will be an unpopular view) those fans will probably see the club fined, and got Raheem and Sergio in trouble.August 27, 2017 at 10:01 am #1523025No improvement from last season with large amounts of money spent ..and ageuro on the bench ..just play simple pep and the players will do the rest
We have used nearly all our 9 lives after two games.August 27, 2017 at 12:13 pm #1523056Fantastic win – you win leagues with matches like that, not by beating mid table teams 4-0.
International break comes at a good time imo
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Evans and Kompany at CB after the break and Gundogan coming back should help with more steel and cover when fullbacks bomb forward
Referees are too busy when it comes to City, why Dean feels the need to do his head teacher act in the 97th minute when the game is over. Not only Daniels being comparable to Sterling after scoring, but Rooney last Monday – running to our fans cupping his ears?!
Dean has a personal problem with Sterling too, didn’t he give a penalty against him for “not looking at the ball” during a corner last year and has booked him for diving when fouled too if I remember correctly
August 28, 2017 at 8:50 am #1523491Ive read a LOT of different views on City’s game over the last few days. There are a few things that stick out, if I may…
Letter if the law!! All I keep hearing is Dean applied letter of the law when sending Sterling off. Ok, lets discuss. By letter of the law, Aka should have been sent off for fouling Jesus. Cook should have been sent off fo
r that challenge because he was out of control and endangered his opponent AND Daniels should have received a card for doing EXACTLY what Sterling did. Why do opposing fans keep bleating on about letter of the law when it simply only got applied to one team and not the other? The question you have to ask is would Dean have sent Kompany off if he tripped someone up free on goal? Would Dean have sent say Danilo off if he left the floor with a reckless challenge on one of there players????
August 28, 2017 at 5:17 pm #1523776No doubt Dean was very poor indeed and hideing behind “letter of the law” He is hardly likely yo apply it all the time so why did he not use common sense this time. As to the Bournemouth fans moaning about extra minuted, they compounded it by wasteing time to get the draw. They would not have complained if they scored in the 97 th minute either
August 28, 2017 at 8:05 pm #1523849Any Bournemouth fans moaning about too much added time (and Daniels complained about that in interview – you’d think players would be smarter about the MINIMUM added time) should think back : when the 5 mins went up, Afobe was down injured, and it was two or three mins later he was replaced.
As for the whole Dean/Sterling/off-pitch celebration thing, I’m now remembering last season, when we played Stoke early on. Penalty given for grappling at a corner; big fuss in media; we talked about it on here; new letter-of-law approach by refs, everyone will be punished etc. Then the refs DIDN’T all do it. Hardly ever applied during the rest of the season. Deja vu? If we start counting the number of celebrations like Raheem’s NOT punished, we’ll soon give up – there’ll be hundreds in the Prem alone this season. -
