Thought I’d start this one as it’s so close to another Premier League match.

We should be too good for them but certainly need to turn up attitude wise and not be complacent. I’ll call a 2-0 victory.

Brentford are doing surprisingly well for their standards, I don’t expect it to last but we’ve also had more than our fair share of luck. Not complaining but we can’t rely on luck we need to be more dominant. Gallagher needs to adapt and play a deeper game as we don’t have too much control there. I don’t know much about Zakaria but it looks like his not wanted for some reason. I tried to get some answers from the clubs hotline but it’s just ringing non stop.

Lots of changes, looks like back 4, at least off the ball.

It’s Ruben right wing back, Cucurella left

It’s mount deeper alongside jorginho, Gallagher is with havertz supporting broja.

Tough start this, our midfield far too lightweight and the corners are stacking up

What a tough match, tough watch too for first 60 minutes but it was a very good game last 30 and I got my hopes up we would nick it.

We didn’t deserve more than a point amd Brentford didn’t deserve less.

Kepa absolutely brilliant once again. 8 games, 5 clean sheets and just 3 goals conceded. 👏

It was a fair result and a very exciting game, pity we just dont have that extra quality to find the net, it’s still a good point only problem our rivals just below us are starting to win games.

I don’t see us making the top 4, nothing wrong with Potter his been brilliant so far but we simply don’t have the striking capabilities upfront, Aubameyang is already 34 I think well past his best, Pulisic, Mount, Harvetz and Sterling are not strikers, Broja is still an unknown quality at the highest level, think he should have scored twice last night plus he had other chances. With United and Liverpool back on the winning trail and City and Arsenal flying high and also Newcastle I just can’t see it at this stage, probably same goes for Spurs too, they on the other hand have the striking power but the rest of their team is pants.

Very disappointing especially with Liverpool and United winning, what I cannot understand is the erratic displays by these guys. One good game, one bad game, one average game, I always played a consistent game although it was at amateur level, these guys are professionals with all the facilities and benefits that come with it. There should be at least 4 out of 6 good games for each player. The manager can only do so much, his not responsible for all the wrong options on the field. There was some good football played but the end product is still atrocious.

There are no easy games in the PL and Brentford away is one of the most difficult games only Arsenal have won there this season.

Chelsea are still not the finished article and that will take time but there are clear signs of progress and last night was a game we would have probably lost earlier in the season.

On the plus side we were pushing for a winner right up until the last minute another plus was young Chukwuemeka and there’s every chance of him playing a bigger part going forwards based on what he showed last night.

Our biggest enemy for consistency is the fact there is a World Cup on the horizon and we have so many matches condensed into a month and a bit and we need to constantly rotate 5-8 players different from one match to the next. Throw in the loss of James and Kante and there is not nor can be at this time a finished product. Clean sheet after clean sheet and mostly wins is not bad all things considered. I have said it before and I will say it again 999, people just don’t want to look at the big picture, the CIRCUMSTANCES!! They are going well enough considering and the future under Potter is bright. Kepa has been exceptional and needed to be. I do like very much the little bit I have seen of Chukwuemeka. Chalobah is a bonus with his form which has been very timely with the injury to Fofana and the need to rest Silva from time to time. Would starting both Auba and Sterling have given us a win. Maybe, maybe not and it’s really irrelevant considering the CIRCUMSTANCES and the need to rotate. The next match will be tough with United at home and that is probably the reason for not starting with what may be our best line up.

Why did Gallagher go off after a few minutes, if he was sick why did he play or did he get an injury?

I reckon he got hooked and replaced by Kovacic. Our midfield that Potter put out there was struggling and the signs weren’t good. Much more solid with Jorginho and Kovacic working together. Well that is what I immediately thought anyway other than there being an injury.

Yeah well Gallagher is really a more forward type of player not really a central midfielder, but we got to try him out as his too talented to leave out on a regular basis. Anyway I read somewhere that he was ill. He did look off colour when he came off. What about Zakaria his supposed to be a specialist defensive midfielder.

We played the first 15 minutes v Brentford essentially with 10 men Gallagher felt sick from the beginning and couldn’t play on.

“I haven’t spoken to the doctor, but he just felt ill. He felt like he was going to be sick. You could probably see that in his first 15 minutes, he wasn’t quite himself, so hopefully, it’s just a 24-hour thing, and he will be okay. Obviously, that probably affected him and us a little bit, but hopefully, he recovers quickly.” Graham Potter
