Fernandes, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon, has scored 18 goals and registered 14 assists in 29 league appearances.

We’ve taken a look at how the Premier League table would look if it began when the 26-year-old made his United debut against Wolves. Note: all teams have played 30 league games unless it’s stated otherwise

    1. Man Utd – 62 points (29 games played)
    2. Liverpool – 61 points (29 games played)
    3. Man City – 56 points (28 games played)
    4. Chelsea – 52 points (29 games played)
    5. Tottenham – 51 points (29 games played)
    6. Everton – 48 points (29 games played)
    7. Southampton – 47 points
    8. Arsenal – 46 points (GD +7)
    9. Wolves – 46 points (GD +2)
    10. Leicester – 43 points
    11. Burnley – 40 points (29 games played)
    12. West Ham – 39 points
    13. Aston Villa – 36 points (28 games played)
    14. Newcastle – 32 points (GD -15) (28 games played)
    15. Crystal Palace – 32 points (GD -22)
    16. Brighton – 29 points
    17. Leeds – 23 points (GD +0) (16 games played)
    18. Sheff Utd – 23 points (GD -21)
    19. Fulham – 11 points (GD -10) (15 games played)
    20. Bournemouth – 11 points (GD -11) (14 games played)
    21. Watford – 11 points (GD -13) (14 games played)

    So inconsistent though!! 😉

Thing is that Liverpool were playing at 50% after COVID because the season was already wrapped up – I’m sure they’d have pulled away from us if the challenge was still there.

With that said, we have definitely made a big improvement since Fernándes joined – just need to focus on not dropping silly points at home!

@happy, I presume you’re joking because he’s ridiculously consistent. He has good games and bad but he almost always delivers because he’s always trying to make things happen. He’s a true Manchester United player who’s always willing to take risks. That’s what Fergie and Eric Harrisson wanted throughout the entire club but it’s a trait that’s gone missing in recent years under 3 ultra conservative managers. Ole is no messiah but at least he acknowledges the fact to Bruno makes the team tick and grants him the freedom to take chances. They may not always come off but, like his stats show, he’s usually the catalyst. Our only World class player and a true leader of this team.

What Fernandes does which all top players do. When he’s having a mare e.g. passes not coming off and giving the ball way. During that game he still pulls something out of the bag, while others will have a shit game full stop.

@mufc, exactly. Also, he never hides when things aren’t going his way and is not afraid of getting stuck in. When I was playing, our coaches drummed into us to ALWAYS do the dirty work – even when nothing else was coming off because that’s how you keep yourself in the game and gain a bit of confidence back.
