I think it’s a really bad decision, but longer term, who knows? I think we are now starting to develop into this league defensively. Returning to a back 4 removed all that confusuion we had with Ivanovic in there. Ajayi was awesome last night with O’Shea not far behind. Johnstone has also grown in this league and of course, Gallagher is becoming a top player. So the spine is there, but without one or two Premiership level strikers, our goal threat is very limited. Grant looks very average, Austin is a goalscorer, but too slow to be left isolated and the rest (Diangana, Robinson, Robson-Kanu, Pereira) clearly don’t have enough goals in them. We deserved a point last night and it was enjoyable seeing the City forwards so frustrated by the speed and speed of thought of Ajayi. Of course if he keeps playing like that, he’ll be snapped up. New manager? Sounds like it will be Allardyce. Blimey, I’m probably not as negative about that prospect as many other fans, but I’m definitely not too happy about it either. If it is him, let’s hope it is just for a short term bit of fire fighting
