So Calum Chambers has been sold to Villa, Tomiyasu is injured so how many right backs do we currently have available. It really is a shit show
January 27, 2022 at 8:20 pm #2046793He is definitely better than Cedric for me. Let’s see what they do by Monday. Knowing them, they will probably loan out Laca.
January 27, 2022 at 8:38 pm #2046800Well he only had 6 months left anyway I guess they took what they could get.
But the squad is looking quite thin now in more than one area.
January 27, 2022 at 10:18 pm #2046826Muffler it was a free transfer! Cost nearly £ 17m six years ago which was a lot then and we get nothing back- well done AFC.
January 28, 2022 at 5:51 am #2046834What i meant was they saved on his salary.
Free transfer maybe but AFC states undisclosed fee and If it was for free then they say so
January 28, 2022 at 7:24 am #2046845Just to be clear never said we would get a big fee with saved wages and small fee its reported to be around £2m.
Not much but since we are complete muppets in that department it is what it is
January 28, 2022 at 3:29 pm #2047157Obviously he does not Fancy Chambers so it makes sense in that way but for me he is better back up to Tomi than Cedric. Chambers plays it similar to Tomi whilst Cedric plays it very differently so when he plays it changes our whole structure. It looks like a fire sale which is a worry surely we are not that skint! I thought our priority would be to give ourselves the best chance of Europe and that for me would mean at the very least keep the squad as is. We now have a weaker squad than we did at the start of the season. Our squad is so thin We are going to be playing every week one or two injuries away from disaster!
January 28, 2022 at 4:01 pm #2047174It might get worse offers for Auba from Barca and Juve and Nketia to Newcastle are rumours going around now.
January 28, 2022 at 4:16 pm #2047179Arteta preferring the terrible Cedric to the average Chambers says it all. This idiot of a manager preferred Leno to Martinez, originally Willian to anyone else and Xhaka received a new contract last year. Pathetic judge of a player.
January 28, 2022 at 5:29 pm #2047201Yes Arteta has always had his favourites, if he likes you you rarely miss a game, if he takes against you you’re frozen out for life. That’s the way he’s always operated. Strikes you as a conceited self centred man who is never wrong. Does that remind you of anyone
January 28, 2022 at 6:32 pm #2047221Any top manager? Name one that isn’t or wasn’t that way.
January 28, 2022 at 6:42 pm #2047223Are you suggesting managers deliberately pick poorer players simply because they don’t like certain players in the squad. All because they have a personal dislike for them thereby costing us results and points which will affect whether they keep their jobs?
January 28, 2022 at 8:40 pm #2047254No, I am saying to be a successful manager you need to be strong minded, so if a player is dropped out the squad, any manager worth his salt won’t change his mind the following week.
All managers have players that they trust and depend on, or favourites – whatever you want to call them, I am surprised even you don’t realise this.
January 28, 2022 at 8:50 pm #2047258Firstly Arteta is neither a top manager nor is he successful. We aren’t talking about reliable players we are talking about blatant bias that isn’t working. Xhaka being a prime example. I’m surprised you haven’t realised that. Everyone else has
January 28, 2022 at 9:16 pm #2047266Every manager picks Xhaka though don’t they? Why does Mourinho want him? Fact is we play better with Xhaka in the team than without, whether we can continue with his idiotic rashness is another matter.
January 28, 2022 at 9:25 pm #2047271It’s his choice on players and I don’t think he is shit because I don’t agree on players. He is a better judge than I and he will live a die by his own hand!
January 29, 2022 at 9:48 am #2047337Quote ‘Every manager picks Xhaka’ every manager at Arsenal that’s picked Xhaka apart from the current incumbent has been sacked. And how often since Xhaka signed have we finished in the top 4? And I don’t see Pep, Klopp, Conte picking Xhaka and they are too managers. Come to that I don’t see the majority of PL managers picking Xhaka
January 29, 2022 at 9:53 am #2047338Every manager he has played under both domestic and international since he broke through play him, he is never on the bench.
And Morninho wants him, why is that I wonder? Maybe you’ve missed something.
January 29, 2022 at 10:39 am #2047353The fact Mourinho was willing to pay no more than €10 and Edu had him out of the door is just another sad inditement on Arteta’s poor management. Xhaka has been a disaster since Wenger signed him and league positions of 5th, 6th, 5th, 8th, 8th don’t exactly prove he’s made a difference do they?
January 29, 2022 at 10:46 am #2047359Not sure those finishes are due to Xhaka? That’s going a bit far!
