Extra time! Loving this, put those extra miles in the city players legs. Still not sure who I’d rather in the final. But this is good for us. Hoping for penalties and some psychological damage.

Although world class ability is obviously needed, I’ve always thought to actually win the CL, it’s 40% ability, 60% grit and character. City have ability in abundance, but I’ve never been convinced about their grit and determination in such big games. And that’s epitomised by Guardiola who is more obsessed by the fine details and micro managing of the game and individual belief, but lacks that galvanising character – we all know that’s Klopp’s strength. Going to have to be very careful about Real in the final. We can’t switch off at any time.

    ahh here lads…

    This is fuckign match fixing.

That ref is such a Real player.

Listen, I want to play real but if this were Liverpool, I’d be going fucking MENTAL.

just from things that I can remember off hand . ASterlings booking, was not even a foul, it was a brilliant tackle.

Later on he is mfouled near the box and it’s nothing.

This lack of added time after all Real’s BS play acting? WHAT?

If they werent going to play us in the final, I’d go for City, I really would… I cant believe Im saying that but I cant stand corruption and this is a case of it.

I’ve listened nonsense for City fans before about conspiracies etc. it was all rubbish but here, it isn’t. here it’s genuine.

    Disgusting.

City were robbed of a sporting contest. Whether they’d have won regardless… I dont know but that was shameful stuff and the commentary need to be questioning this shit, or it’s going to continue.

    what a fuckign disgrace.

Time keeping in the second half of extra time maybe questionable, otherwise ref was solid and consistent. Sterling was off the ground in that challenge, yellow all day. Ref let a lot go for both sides, and cut out the play acting. Real were in with another penalty shout for handball….it would have been a little harsh. The reality is City should have seen that out …2up and they crumbled. I enjoyed that. Sterling looks crap lately too. Hoping there is fallout in their squad now and they crack in a few league games.

This just seasons the meal. I now remember why I dislike Real so much.. they’ll need 3 refs to beat us.

we’ll shit all over them, ref and all.

AK, I get you lad… I don’t know why it has bothered me because the other side of the coin might have led to City going through but… they were smaller situations. I guess the reason I care is because I think I’ve spotted corruption in the game.

Maybe I’m wrong… I’ll accept that it’s very possible in this situation (but no others 😛 ). I think this was a clever extra 5% towards Real. When you have 2 fantastic teams, that is all it takes though, very often. My problem with this is that it opens up a genuine question against the game that I love. If the game is corrupt, it means less… and in my opinion, we saw corruption tonight.

I’ll drop it for now though lads, I think you’ve heard enough of it. before I do, I’ll say that if the final is like that… I’m done with UEFA.

Thjat shit aside and look, maybe the ref just had a strangely one sided bad night, although he didnt make up the lack of added time… jesus…

from the 2 teams though, I prefer to face Real, as I think City are far mroe confident when playing us than they were when playing pretty much everyone else. It’s strange because they fear what we can do, but not really against them head to head.

What was the game they dropped points in before they drew with us? cause I remember watching it and the fear in the faces of the Man City players. Tonight I saw that in Foden.

I dont see that fear when they actually play against us. Maybe it’s just me lads… anyway I’ll STFU before I upset tom.

Mak, were City denied a penalty shout? A contentious armpit measuring offside? A dodgy red card? The ref was not interested in diving from either side and waved play on consistently. Were either of Reals goals down to Dodgey refereeing? Or was the penalty questionable?
Not even the daftest of bluemoon loonies would call that match fixing….cheating…or corruption.
You are dreaming kid. The added time to extra time is the only really questionable decision in that game. And how many minutes can you realistically add to a 15min half?
The fact is City bottled it, majorly. From a position of 2 goals up with mere moments left in the game they shit the bed.

    Mikus… very much agree.
I’d rather have a player with loads of grit/right attitude and perhaps not as much talent than a player with poor grit/bad attitude and loads of talent.

All they need to do now is slip up this weekend against Newcastle and again against Wolves in midweek.

As for Real, they can attack us in a number of ways that expose the spaces in our system. If we fuck around with the ball at the back, Benzema is going to hurt us. Vinicius can really hurt our high line. Not overly convinced with the way Konate handles crosses but if he is needed to deal with Vinicius’ pace, he’ll have to deal with this constantly. They also still have a number of players who are very experienced in this kind of occasion. This also doesn’t include the fact that they have the refs in their pocket. 1 thing we can exploit is how they tend to play slowly before bursting into life. We have to put the game beyond them if afforded the chance. On our end, we’ve beaten Spanish opposition 4 times this season which is a nice improvement given our previously patchy record. Both teams would have been difficult for us anyway but we’ve been a clear level above all the other opposition thus far so we were bound to get 1 of these eventually.

Great result at the bernabeu because i wanted Real madrid in the final. I think we have a better chance against real than city.

Only one thing im worried about real madrid is Vinicius Jr against Trent and our high line.

Don’t call me kid. this is a little game to try and assert dominance over me, for absolutely no reason… It’ll never happen. If I bother, I’ll always out think you.

Why on earth am I getting such a salty reaction?

I dont want to be on here responding to princesses who cant take it when others disagree with them or share an opinion that wets their knickers. Let me have my opinion FFS.

I can’t post on here without a cohort of wet pussies coming to get me.

Thought the ref had a good game. The gamesmanship was clearly evident from both sides but he didn’t fall for any of it. Was actually a boring match until the 90th minute but then wow what a turn around. If Madrid go on and lift the cup they will have done it beating PSG, Chelsea, City and Liverpool, that would be a very impressive run.

I agree with Razor that Vini Jr will pose a significant threat beyond the high line and behind Trent. Konate’s pace could be very useful there.

I think I know what you are saying Mikus about Pep and agree. Not only does his 99% methodical 1% passion ideology rub off on his team but I think also the fans too. I never see the passion for this competition from City that the likes of Liverpool and Madrid provide.

Mak. If it’s any consolation.. We’re following Wijnaldum to Paris. What goes around comes around? Or something…

IMO City in the CL is a matter of fans not being experienced enough. Even though we had to wait a long time, when Rafa made us a force in Europe again, the fans were already at that level on a European night. There’s a belief, energy and expectation that fans of such clubs can provide on those nights. When you’re up against it, having the whole place is still going nuts can be a huge boost to the players and concurrently, intimidate the opposition. Even when you’re 3-0 down, if your fans get behind you with everything they have, you can make something special happen. Just another example; in our game against Nottingham Forest in the FA cup earlier this year, that crowd wouldn’t look out of place at the highest level. City’s fans on the other hand, have not had decades worth of experience when it comes to European nights and the atmosphere around it.

We absolutely owe Madrid one. We are a much much better side then 4 years ago. Madrid have looked terribly ordinary at times in this competition but also outstandingly good.

Casemerio should have been sent off last night. It was two yellow cards all day but city realky only have themselves to blame. Still can’t believe they lost that

Really looming forward to this and if we play like we can then we will win
