Drew 1-1 here last season courtesy of Sturridge’s (sorry Sean, Sturbridge!:) last ever goal for us and his 50th for us and what a goal it was! A deserved point that day.
Starting XI in that game:
Alisson, Trent, van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Henderson, Firmino, Mane and Salah.
Chelsea lost Mount tuther day and that was blow for them. Good player but one that created havoc for us when he came on in the Super Cup recently was Abraham – he’s gonna have a bright career.
Chelsea have been up and down all season which is understandable losing two regular starters for them in Luiz and Hazard and a new manager but they’ll be up for this and Lamps will want to win his first ever game as manager at Stamford Bridge.
Don’t think it’ll happen as the best thing for us was losing the other night – brought us down a peg or two and think we will bounce back and win this 2-1 with Giroud scoring his customary goal against us says. So says this fella too!September 19, 2019 at 3:07 pm #1784256

Very tough game in my view. First time this season I don’t think
We will win.
We are conceding goals. Chelsea are scoring goals.the same can be said about them really. Always a very tough place to go. They were well up for it in the super league. They be well up for it and out padding had to be sharp as they will press us from the off
Of course Kanté will be back.
I should be more confident but just a few feeling about this one
I’d take a drawSeptember 19, 2019 at 3:20 pm #1784257
Anyone else getting adverts pop up in the middle of posts
so irritatingSeptember 19, 2019 at 5:17 pm #1784292
Another tough game but I still think we can win this. The front 3 won’t be as wasteful in front of goal for 2 games in a row.
Coupla slight changes to the team but more or less the same as the other night.
TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo
Hendo, Fabinho, Gini
Salah, Firmino, ManéSeptember 19, 2019 at 8:23 pm #1784360
AK adverts have been like this in TT for a while, I did have them they were obniousxly frustrating so I get where you are comming from. On mobile AND Laptop I use Brave browser, Brave browser is a Chrome like browser and has built in adblocking.
As for the game, this is the first game that weve played in a long while where I feel we could win, lose or draw. I think Mount is injured which is a good thing as he has been impressive. They do have the players to do a ‘Napoli’ on us so we have to be careful but I also think their defence isnt all that so we have the chance to score on them.
I’ll take a draw 2-2. Regroup and move on to some ‘easier’ games lolSeptember 19, 2019 at 8:51 pm #1784382

As for the game I see us winning 3-1
The team picks itself I think
TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo
Hendo, Fabinho, Gini
Salah, Firmino, Mané
The little I have watched Chelsea this year they don`t look too solid at the back & with Matip VVD & Fabinho we will keep them quite-ishSeptember 20, 2019 at 5:03 pm #1784627
They will be up for this game. Chelsea is like a wounded animal and a lot of these players have won things in recent years, so will raise their game.
I felt we were a bit lucky in the Super Cup against them when they caused us problems – Kante, Pedro and Pulisic all had good games and caused us all manner of problems with Kante MOTM for me.
Still, the City slip last week will hopefully give us a real psychological boost, and I think we will have just enough to win by the odd goal, though it won’t be easy.
2-1 or 3-2 to us.September 21, 2019 at 8:07 am #1784693
Time to release the frustrations of Tuesday’s result by putting in a good performance tomorrow. Chelsea are a tough opponent but they are still finding their way under a new manager, so Liverpool must take full advantage of this.
I’d play our strongest eleven here, and if our front 3 is on fire, no reason why we cannot win. But our defence must be totally on point to handle their dangerous attacking threat or we will be punishedSeptember 21, 2019 at 2:44 pm #1784788
The reality is that Chelsea can’t defend and other teams have been capitalising on our defensive lapses most of the time. We rarely get outplayed. Going into this one I get the feeling that most people think a repeat of the Super Cup is on the cards. If anything that game would have done us a favour because we know how they’re going to play now. My only concern is that we’ll have another slow start and have those lapses in concentration. Chelsea are poor later in the games anyway so if we keep control in the first half we can easily take them in the second half.September 21, 2019 at 3:14 pm #1784806
Just need to focus on efficiency and three points. Goal differential will be severely adjusted today as City will score 50 against the God awful Watford.September 21, 2019 at 3:27 pm #1784812
Let’s rack up the points, and leave it to City to rack up the goals.
Main thing is we must not let our lead at the top of the table slip even once, a very tough task but that’s what I think it will take for Liverpool to be champions this season – get in front and stay there till the endSeptember 22, 2019 at 2:30 am #1784873
Why the fuck do we need to keep talking about some rich wee club or some arrogant baldie who has a unhealthy obsession with us. If we ever want to win the league, we should worry about ourselves and keep winningSeptember 22, 2019 at 3:37 pm #1784991
Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Kelleher, Milner, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Shaqiri, Brewster.September 22, 2019 at 4:18 pm #1785025
As strong a side as we can put out. Firmino will be the most important for us today. Him dropping in the hole will pull Kante back and stop the transition. Wijnaldum and Fabinho need to bully Kovacic and Jorginho in midfield like they have done the past few games. Henderson can’t go wandering or TAA won’t be able to get out. With a couple of their players just coming back from injuries I’m fairly confident that we can dominate the last 1/2 hour or so but we have to contain their attempts at a flying start.September 22, 2019 at 5:24 pm #1785050
We’re winning the tactical battle. We’ve been keeping the ball as far away from Kante as possible. Firmino needs to drop deeper. Jorginho was getting too much space towards the end of the half. No surprise that Mane has been out of the game so far, the ball just isn’t going down that side. TAA looking really suspect defensively. Henderson has been good so far but he needs to drop back a bit to control the game. We took advantage of their poor defending but we need to keep on top of them. They’re growing into the game.September 22, 2019 at 5:26 pm #1785054
Still a lot to do can’t be complacent
By the way what an awful panel of pundits on skySeptember 22, 2019 at 6:01 pm #1785080
Salah has had a shocker so far. The amount of times he has lost the ball is frightening.September 22, 2019 at 6:03 pm #1785082
Fabinho and Matip so friggin passive in that Kante goal. Horrible. Put an effin tackle in will yer.
