Caught a travel documentary the other day on Oz and I was delighted to see it took in Albany which was Jack’s home town. Lovely to see Albany and it bought back lots of memories of Jack God rest his soul.
My biggest regret is not getting out to see Jack in Oz before that dreadful disease took him. RIP good buddie.
999, Albany is a nice place. Jack would often talk about getting up early hours for the Albany dawn annual ANZAC parade. It is just approaching that time of year. It is meant to be something special. Unfortunately because of the virus, the parade has been cancelled this year.
Yes, it is a nice place 999. We had our first holiday outside of Perth there, many years ago. Remember visiting Frenchman’s Bay. I got talking to Jack about our time there, and I think I remember him saying he lived in or near Frenchman’s Bay. I did make an effort to try and catch up wit( Jack myself. When he wrote on here that he was coming up to Perth for treatment, I tried ringing the hospital I thought he was in to see if I could visit him. Unfortunately I got nowhere with my call, as it turned out I had the wrong hospital. At the time we didn’t know Jack’s surname either, so it was always going to be a bit os a needle in a hay stack finding him. Didn’t for one moment think Jack would be taken from us at the time. I had a lot of conversations on here with Jack, and liked his style of writing and we shared a lot of views, especially on Avram Grant.
