Unfortunate that this has to happen, but given the behaviour of the Liverpool supporters at Wembley it is for the best.

It also gives GP more time working with and getting to know his squad.

For me it’s a bummer as 2 weeks in a row without football (as I don’t subscribe here for the UCL streaming). But I understand the situation and it’s a big match with more risks compared to other matches. There was talk to reverse to play it at Anfield but it did not materialize. With the world cup, not sure how Premier League will come up with the reschedule. As NIBlue pointed out very well, I think we should see it as more time for Graham Potter to get to know the squad and to prepare the right strategies for the team

Ideal as it enables Potter plenty of time to work with the squad and get them buying into his vision without the risk of being destroyed and losing points as well. Now a lot of the squad will be going on international duty but the fortnight of working with them would have been invaluable. Also they played a friendly against Brighton behind closed doors to work on it and that was a major plus. The next match will be away to Palace on October 2 and it will be interesting to see how much progress has been made. Hopefully also Kante will be a couple of weeks closer to an imminent return. He is so important to us.
