The game is live on BT Sport from 3pm.

Should be a good open game although both teams will be well below full strength.

    Cecs injured?

Looking forward to seeing CHO on the wide open spaces of the Wembley pitch.

Be lovely to win it but the game v Huddersfield is more important.

Glorified friendly so not worried about this at all as stated previously

I simply want no injuries and to see how the starting 11 play in respect of the new wishes and style expected by Sarri. Seems to me that first 45 against Arsenal went very well so hoping to extend that kind of performance into the second half and if we keep substitutions to a minimum possibly for the whole game

Team selection is interesting for me as Sarri has stuck in the main to a core set of players to date as well. Agree it should be an open game with a lot of one touch football. KTBFFH

Agree with that 1905 and pretty much what I said on the main site a few days ago.

“City in the Charity Shield will be an intersting game but win, lose or draw it’s a glorified friendly and it won’t define our season. Important to come out of the game with our pride in tact though.”

I think the contrary, it’s a very important match to win to kick our season well. And it’s not too often we’d won Community (Charity) Shield. I was upset to see Courtois taking penalty last season; we did not look serious honestly. Look at our season, we finished 5th.

It won’t be an easy match, we clearly aren’t favorite. But hope it will be an interesting match, Sarri vs Pep. And it seems that Cesc is injured, so unavailable.

My team: Caballero – Azpi, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso – RLC, Jorginho, Barkley – CHO, Tammy, Pedro.

Lets hope this kicks Morata out of the rut he is enduring.

If Fabregas is out then I fully expect sari to start with the same 11 that he has for most games – so Morata up front. KTBFFH

I’m with Aindro there. We need to kick start our season in a winning way. We have little margin for error now. Losing friendlly games will hurt our confidence. Last season we lost most of our preseason games and the community shield which was then transferred to our season. The 2015/16 season was like that. We lost more games than we have won. Then the feeling has been transferred to our season. Personally i’m not too keen to see Chelsea take this game lightly. It will give us a glimpse about how we will be approaching games especially our big 6 rivals. Get the young lad CHO and Pedro outwide.i was happy to see Pedro sign a new deal. I saw wisefan meltdown in the general page. Pedro may not be Hazard, but he is serial winner. And has invaluable experience he is the perfect man to mentor CHO, Abraham,RLC and Barkley. All of these are young players who have never won trophies. Pleased to see Fabregas miss this game. As i feel he makes us light in the middle of the park. Start with RLC alongside Jorginho and Barkley. Pedro and CHO outwide. Morata up top. In defence i prefer Rudiger and someone else Alonso and Mr Relaible ( Azpi). Will be an interesting game.

Aindro@3:17pm yesterday: What’s more important winning the Community Shield or taking three points at Huddersfield? Answer that question truthfully and you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

Of course I would love Chelsea to win the C.S. we haven’t won it since 2009 and it would be a good confidence booster against the best side in the PL and probably the best side in Europe too but if we win the C.S. it doesn’t mean we’ll win the title and if we lose in the C.S. it doesn’t meant we’ll finish out of the top 4 either.

Out of City on Sunday and Huddersfield next week the Huddersfield game is the most important game in my opinion.

On a hiding to nothing based on the first 20 minutes. Could be scary.

Massive gulf in class and 2 nil significantly flattered Chelsea.

We badly missed Kante in midfield imo. Only positive was that we had a bit more possession than we did the last time we played them.

Let’s get the big players back hopefully make a signing or two and let Sarri get to work with the players on the training ground a bit longer than three weeks.

I can’t see anyone finishing above this City team in the PL this season fantastic team with a fantastic squad and an outstanding Manager.

Fortunately we don’t have to play City every week.😊

Luiz and Morata as much as I like them we should have rather encouraged them to leave like they wanted to.

We should go all out for Lewandowski or Icardi

You can only give players so much chances and if they don’t perform they must be sold or not even included in the match day squad. You cannot put players above the well being of the club. Need to get rid of at least 5-6 players and it’s probably too late to do that as well. Shambles and we can’t blame Sarri as he has only arrived.

As far as I am concerned the only major things that I hope comes out of yesterdays game is that Sarri is more aware of the what the EPL is all about, how he thinks the players performed and what he needs to do going forward

Pep did not play his youngsters as intimated so was a very strong side. Sarri used what he had considering who was available and the fact that he had only worked with them for a month maximum so not surprised in the slightest in the result

I feel the same about tomorrows game as well. For me, all eyes must be focussed on Saturday and taking 3 points. Was speaking to some gooners this weekend and they all feel that 4 points is achievable from their first 2 games with the 3 points coming from Chelsea…!!

Need to get the Hazard and Courtois situations resolved and quickly and then focus on the training for the Huddersfield game. KTBFFH

I think that Sarri tried a few things yesterday. Certainly looked that way. I have to say, Id be keen to see Barkley take up a central position behind the striker. He played best there fro Everton with Lukaku ahead of him. He only played fifteen in the role but added much needed spark in the final third.

Tammy Abraham did more in his cameo than Morata did in about 80 minutes. Hudson Odoi looks a real deal.

Drinkwater came on and when the defence and midfield reduced space between the lines we looked in a good shape.

Can Luiz play in a flat back four? Can Alonso? These two looked rusty and Willy in goal. Just keep him as our number three… Palmbs got it right in his post today.

Lots of work to do, but it looked like a lot was being tested yesterday. Three points needed next weekend.

I only saw a recording of the match until their 2nd goal.
Clearly the gap is big. They have players who already get used to the system.
And us not yet. Normal though, Sarri has been with us for 3 weeks only.
    It’s not what preoccupies though.
What worries me is there’s no chemistry in our attack, at all.
Morata, Pedro, Fabregas: they play together for a year at least. Yet we can’t see any chemistry.
Contrary to City’s attack. Again if we don’t score, we won’t win matches.
Pedro worked hard, but no brain. Morata was IMO absent. Fabregas was not sharp contrary to usual; probably due to his knee problem.
Jorginho must do a quick adaptation to English football. The speed is not the same as Serie A. Look at how often he was dispossesed.
Barkley IMO was simply bad. Did not add anything in term of attack.
    Bright point is CHO.

Aindro, funny how we all see things differently I didn’t think any Chelsea players were great yesterday but I thought Barkley was one of the better ones and I can see where Sarri’s positivity on him may be coming from.

Certainly a very different player to last season imo but still needs to develop further at Chelsea if he’s going to play a meaningful part going forwards.
