3 points is a must. Arsenal no longer a top 4 club plus we at home. No excuses.

We may be at home but we are facing the same kind of transition as Arsenal except that they got all their business sorted well before we did, therefore, you would assume they could be better prepared than us…?

That being said I am sure that Sarri appreciates the significance of the game especially when you consider our recent poor record against Arsenal. For me, a lot will depend on who is available and I fully expect Hazard to start in place of either Pedro or Willian and the other question is over Kovacic

Personally, I feel it is still too early for Kovacic and that Barkley has done little wrong so apart from the Hazard change I hope to see the same team that started against Huddersfield. I guess another talking point is whether Hudson Odoi should start considering how he roasted Bellerin in pre season but I do not think he will start but may find himself on the bench

This is going to a tough game and one that we must not lose and while I would desperately love to see us take the 3 points a draw in the early learning stages under Sarri could be seen as acceptable. KTBFFH

Nah we’ll win this in a canter at home. Arsenal were pretty damn poor against City. Again I watched Ozil happy to take his wages without effort. Very poor footballer. We’ll win 3-0. scorers Morata, Hazard and a Cech own goal since he was practicing against City.

Giroud should rather start this game – he knows Arsenal better than anyone else in our team and plus he may have that bit of extra motivation, think it is a must win for various reasons. Also you cannot drop Pedro on his current form, maybe start with 3 attacking midfielders plus a striker and only the 2 centre midfielders?

NN – I think like all managers Sarri has his favoured formation and while the squad is still in the learning phase I would not expect him to deviate from that and certainly not from the start. He clearly believes in his formation so he will start with that but maybe change as the game dictates

Giroud is not a bad shout but obviously no idea how fit he is after the WC and whether he could last the game but again, I think Sarri will stick with Morata and hope he can score and turn his game around. KTBFFH

Nah, Arsenal faced City and we faced Huddrfld. Not same class. Auba looked sharp. I don’t think it’s an easy match for both sides. Our defense looks shaky too. Probably a draw I reckon. Cannot see us getting out of this match with a clean sheet. A 1-1 draw I think

This is the line up I think Sarri will go with. Personally I find it hard to drop Pedro as he has been playing well and scoring. I would personally start with Pedro, Hazard, Willian rather than Morata up top.

    —————————Line Up (433)—————————

    Arrizabalaga

    Azpilicueta | Rudiger | Luiz | Alonso

    Kante | Jorginho | Barkley

    Willian | Morata | Hazard

    ———————————Bench———————————

    Caballero, Christensen/Cahill, Zappacosta/Emerson, Moses/CHO, Fabregas/RLC/Kovacic, Pedro, Giroud

I think that the starting line up will be the same as last week. I don’t know if Sarri is a fan of false 9 but I am not. The system failed us so often and Hazard does not like to be deployed as a false 9. I really would start with Morata or Giroud if fit. And if Hazard is deemed fit, he would start at Pedro’s place or at Willian’s place. I also think that Kovacic if fit may start at Barkley’s place. Hence we may find our team with no Englishman starting. Reminds me of Vialli’s era

Sarri played Dries Mertens who is a very similar to Hazard as a false 9.

Bort, I think you will find that Sarri played Merten more as an out and out striker than a false nine.

Not a good idea imo to push Hazard towards that position it’s not a position that he enjoys and we’re currently trying to encourage him to sign a new contract and playing him as a false nine might work against that.

Better option than Morata by a long way because with Morata we wont make top 4.

There are other options Bort other than Hazard.

Firstly though I think Sarri is committed to giving Morata a few games to try and see if he can rediscover the goal scoring form he had in the early part of last season.

If it doesn’t work out and it might not then Sarri will look elsewhere but that won’t be for a few games and it may or may not include Hazard.

Personally I would steer away from Hazard for the reasons I gave above and I would be interested to see what Hudson Odoi might be able to do through the middle with his speed as well as maybe Tammy.

But right now Sarri is sticking with Morata and we have to hope it works out but if it doesn’t I’m sure Sarri will take action.

Bort I did not see the match against Huddersfld but from the highlight, I have impression that Morata has improved and was unlucky not to score. I am not a fan of Morata neither. But Sarri seems to trust him. Let’s for now give the benefit of the doubts.

999 agree. Hazard does not like to play false 9. If he is forced to play in that position, big chance he won’t sign.

If Giroud is fit, he can lead the line as he knows Arsenal through and through. Leno may start for them instead of Cech

Aindro… think the match up between abumenyang and rudiger will be a bit of a tussle. Guess we will find out who wins the foot race and is quicker… my money is on rudiger. Think our midfield will be too strong but who knows, another week of the players learning Sarri’s formation… we were very successful using 433 previously. But if they start both abumenyang and lacazette then I reckon we could see a very entertaining game.

Rds: I doubt they will start with 2 strikers. They play an away game. They will start with either Auba or Lacazette. Rudiger is strong but I am worried that our WB Alonso will be overrun by Bellerin or be tricked by Ozil. Also Luiz must be on the top of his game, not making silly mistakes. I don’t like facing Arsenal nowadays. When we had Drogba, it was good as he scored so often against them. But they beat us FA Cup 2 years ago. And also the Community Shield by pen

Aindro. Ozil is a passenger in that arsenal team. He might mince about the center circle with his hands on his hips, but doesnt carry a significant threat anymore. He’s done at the top tier of football. Bellerin is a fast one trick pony but is just dumb. He cant keep his mouth shut because he forgets how to do it… Best time to be playing Arsenal, they’ve also gotten rid of players who know how it should be in a london derby.

Entertaining game ahead, chelsea’s to loose imo… Arsenal rebuilding and looking dodgy as at the back. fingers crossed. Looking forward to it as we all should.

For me I expect the same team as last week with the exception of Hazard starting so that means one of Willian or Pedro has to miss out. Sarri clearly wants to keep Morata and will play him to see if/when he can score but I would not be surprised to see Giroud feature towards the end of the game either

Hope that Lacozette does not start as he looked lively against City when he came on and appears to have a good understanding with Abumenyang. Regardless of what happened last week I would still expect Arsenal to stick with this playing out of defence as it would appear to be something that Umery favours so extra pressing from our forwards could provide some opportunities for us

At the end of the day we must stick to our game plan and implement the ethics and style that Sarri wants us to play. I have no idea how good Sarri is at changing tactics during a game or bringing on players in a like for like move or to actually change something so for me that is something we will need to watch as the season progresses

Clearly we should be looking for the win as it would send a marker to all teams but also dent any Arsenal aspirations so early in the season, however, as we are also in transition I think if offered a point I would accept it but feel that initially we must take the initiative and go for the jugular. Watch the game please:

Morata didn’t get one chance in the entire game. The only opening he had was about 5 mins into the match when he went through on the keeper about 16 yards out and his left foot shot bobbled about 2 yards wide, he was then flagged offside so it weren’t even a chance.

He did make one run from the halfway down the left sideline to the corner flag, which won us a corner. He also played a switched pass from the around the center spot out to Willian on the left that started the move for the second goal(Penalty).

Other than that the rest of his 74 of 76 minutes he primarily turned over our possession of the ball after the rest of the team had put together like 10-20 passes or was on the floor sampling the turf.

Problem with Morata he does not make much of an attempt with those crosses, only if he his sure to get the ball then he does go for it. His problem his not mentally tough enough or very strong on the balL, both vital assets for the EPL.
