After we have lost that match last night in that circumstance, the team owe us a performance on Satruday. without beating around the push i will head straight to the point. 3-4-2-1 is the way to go. Alonso for Pedro,Mount for Kante, Giroud for Batshuayi and Tomori for Christensen. is that so hard to do?😕February 19, 2020 at 9:25 am #1827661
This is now a huge game, was big before but after Monday night we need a win here desperately.
Agree that Giroud has to start if Tammy doesn’t make it, hope we´ll have CHO back and ditch Pedro. Christensen probably won’t make it after his knock on Monday anyway, Tomori deserves another opportunity. Wonder how close Pulisic & RLC are, would be a big boost to have 1 or both of those on the bench to throw on the last 10 mins if we need something.
A huge boost in our favour is that Son will be missing, with Mourinho coming and parking his bus to hit us on the counter, their counter is severely restricted without Son. That said my personal confidence of us winning this is not sky high, more hope than expectation these days.February 19, 2020 at 2:26 pm #1827811
I think this will be a boring draw 0-0. Mou will park the bus but they don’t have Son to counter us. And we will surely have difficulty to break their defense. With or without Tammy. No need for a speedy player here, so agreed: Mount for Pedro. Alonso for Azpi. Zouma for Christensen. And Giroud for Bats. This game is not suitable for Pulisic who relies on speed.
My team (3-4-3): Willy – Tomori,Rudiger,Zouma – James,Barkley,Kovacic,Alonso – Mount,Giroud,WillianFebruary 19, 2020 at 2:47 pm #1827832
I think Giroud for Michy is a given with Tammy still unfit but the options for Frank are limited given all our injuries.
Shame to see any player injured but no Kane and Son is a bonus for us given all of our own injuries.
Hopefully the Leipzig game takes plenty out of Spurs tonight.February 20, 2020 at 5:20 pm #1828213
Mourinho says Chelsea are very lucky because his team has so many injuries. Mind games? i hope Frank doesn’t fall into that trap.February 20, 2020 at 8:08 pm #1828268
You have to chuckle at Mourinho. Pulisic, Tammy, Hudson Odoi and Loftus Cheek were all out injured v United RLC has been missing all season and Kante was injured v United as was Christansen and Kante is out until mid March at the earliest.
Yet Spurs have all the injuries.😊February 21, 2020 at 1:47 pm #1828473
Mourinho is a never ending stream of utter tripe talk, I do wonder if even his players buy the shite that comes out of him?!
On a more positive note, just seen that Tammy and RLC are in the squad tomorrow! Tammy likely to start then and RLC back on the bench, big boost to our chances.February 21, 2020 at 1:55 pm #1828476
Mou is playing mind games, that’s just a sure thing. Hopefully Lampard is not buying anything that Mou had said. We are struggling with injuries ourselvesFebruary 21, 2020 at 2:24 pm #1828484
Brilliant news on Loftus Cheek although Frank’s says he’s not fit enough to start “Tammy has trained the last two days. Probably 70%. He is in the squad.” According to Frank.
If Tammy can’t start Giroud should Giroud should be ahead of Michy now imo and probably should have been ahead of him earlier than now.
At just 70% fit I would be tempted to start Giroud.February 21, 2020 at 2:47 pm #1828494
Expected Tottenham stsrting XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Dier, Alli; Lamela, Lucas, Bergwijn.
Looks pretty strong to me Pinocchinio!😊February 21, 2020 at 4:06 pm #1828515
If Tammy is only 70% fit, probably we should start with Giroud and Tammy will come in later as a substitute if needed. We need to remember too that we have UCL match early next week. But 1 match at a time. We really need to win this one as I think Spurs are our main challenger for the top 4 spot (for the 4th spot to be exact).
Some questions: would Kepa start? Would FL persist with Jorginho?February 21, 2020 at 6:05 pm #1828538
Aindro, with no Kante be surprised if Jorginho doesn’t start alongside Kovacic for the balance but we’ll see. I would start Mount too.February 21, 2020 at 9:58 pm #1828618
If we want to have any chance in that game, keep Christensen out of that back four. because i can see circumstance forcing us to play Jorginho. but Christensen should be kept out of that back four. if we start Jorginho, Christensen and Batshuayi in the same starting line up. our chances are always minimum.February 22, 2020 at 2:08 am #1828627
I’d play a back three. My proposed team includes bringing back Kepa. Hopefully Frank has made his point and Kepa has learnt his lesson. 3-4-3 formation:
MountFebruary 22, 2020 at 7:29 am #1828628
Azi, Alonso and James all in the starting line up – interesting.February 22, 2020 at 8:17 am #1828629
That would be my team too Stuilse although I think Frank might stick with Willy and play a back four playing Christensen with a face mask is a risk imo.
Jose is up to his usual tricks but I still hope the fans don’t dig him out too much even though he can be such a prize plum at times no matter who he manages.February 22, 2020 at 11:55 am #1828671
Pretty close lads to your selected sides.February 22, 2020 at 12:14 pm #1828677
If Jose is telling the truth? And someone on the staff somewhere at Cobham has leaked our tactics to him they should be found and fired.
This is the side of Jose I hated even when he was at Chelsea!February 22, 2020 at 2:17 pm #1828711
Giroud starts scores, Alonso starts and scores the second. i wonder why Frank has ignored both against United. Spurs players are killing our players without facing punishmentsFebruary 22, 2020 at 2:57 pm #1828730
Good team selection and tactics from Frank today given all the circumstances it was a by win for Frank today with the vultures in the media beginning to circle thankfully the match going fans remain firmly behind him.
