Only downside is missing Mount and Jorginho from the second leg, Kante for Jorginho isn’t a problem but Mount will be a big miss.

Yeah bluelion was worried about mount getting that harsh early booking but how he maintained such a level of commitment and aggression throughout after that showed amazing composure

Very mature performance from all as the game went on I thought

Ziyech looked good in the 10 when he came on though nine, certainly miss mount but be nice to see us do well in a game without him for a change wouldnt it? 🙂

wow, we won. A really nice surprise. I did not see the match, just saw the highlight and it looked like our defense was really good. Except Mendy’s error at the beginning, our keeper wasn’t really tested by Atletico. And our goal: a beautiful finish by Giroud. Hopefully we’ll get again a good result from the 2nd leg at home.

Was that the best they (Atletico) had to offer. WF was right – well done WF. Tactically Simeone failed. Basically past adventures should have very little impact on what should or would happen in season 2021 with totally different squads at each club and Atletico high balling it in La Liga whilst we are doing ok in the Premiership. A good all round performance by them all I thought. Losing Mount and Jorginho for the 2nd leg is unfortunate, especially Mount. Kante will cover more than admirably for Jorginho. I thought I saw the Atletico player contact the ball on to Giroud and my eyes were not deceiving me. Surprised they took so long in VARsville to give the goal. I guess they needed that decisive angle. Great win however theres still a way to go yet and I expect better than that from Atletico at the Bridge.

This tie is far from won Simeone set up to not to lose last night he would have happily taken 0-0 looking to pinch a goal in the 2nd leg confident his team wouldn’t concede two in the second leg.

Still a massive challenge made tougher with no Mount and Jorginho with Mount being the biggest miss.

I think Jorginho is the bigger miss between the two. Because he is so important to the way Tuchel wants to play. And that has been proven last Saturday when we couldn’t take control of the game. Don’t get me I’m not saying Mount isn’t important to the team. but right now, judging by how things are, Jorginho is the bigger miss. And I’m sure Tuchel feels that way.

Both will be a big miss WF imo, shame. Jorginho took one for the team and replays showed that Mount’s yellow card was wrongly given.

We are where we are though that games done and Tuchel has to find solutions to the 2 missing players in the second leg.
