libanski-Thats not the way to see/explain things mate.We should have gotten rid of all of em rubbish players ages ago,now we have the likes of Jones,Mata,Matic and the likes of Smalling,Rojo,Sanchez that are out only on loan and most probably will come back. And one more thing that some of you seem to forget, just because you get rid of X number of players doesnt mean you leave the squad thin, you go out and replace them with other players. Now we have the likes of Andy,Dalot,Lindeflop,Jlingz and Pogba, players that either need or have to be sold, and Martial who is extremely inconsistent.Nearly forgot James who can only do one thing, and that is run.

@happy – Please enlighten me as to how giving the likes of Phil Jones a contract worth a minimum of 25m over 5 years is to “protect the players value” mate. Are you suggesting that committing to a spend of 25m on something that is worth about 5m at best makes any semblance of fucking sense?!😳😳

@hooked – The problem with having to pay wankers like Jones 10m or more to leave has a big detrimental impact on the overall transfer budget once the gimps have crunched the numbers mate. Especially,if you multiply that by 3 or 4 to allow other dross like Rojo, Pereira and Lindelof to do likewise, simple as that.

libanski-I will,in 5 yrs time, when we are rid of every single player playing for us right now except the youngsters from our own Academy, and that includes seeing the back of DDG.I would keep Williams,Tuanzebe,MCT,Fernandes,AWB and Rashford.

Stick to this thread for the second leg. No point in starting a new one. How we going to do this selection wise? We have a tough game away to Everton on Sunday.

Similar to the first leg i think. He’ll have to take quite a big gamble and select a weaker side. Mata, Ighalo, Lingard, Dalot, Romero and Pereira all to start…

Needs to be a much stronger team for this game. If we go a few goals up their intensity will drop and we can rest players after 60 mins.
    My XI:
    Romero
    Dalot, Bailly, Maguire, Williams
    Bruno, Fred
    Greenwood, Mata, Martial
    Ighalo

    I don’t think he’ll start Bruno.

Bruno is not a CMF player, if he plays it has to be much further forward. I would think McTominay is nailed on to start this game. Pray to fuck he doesn’t pick either of those two useless fuckers Lingard and Pereira. I’d also pick someone out of the crowd to play rather than Dalot, he’s just as bad.
I would also hope that Bailly starts, otherwise the recurring Lindelof nightmare will never end, and he won’t start both Ighalo and Martial, it will be one or the other.

    Romero
    Dalot – Bailly – Maguire – Williams
    McTominay – Fred
    Fernandes
    Greenwood – Ighalo – Martial

We need to keep pushing to win this tournament.

Bruno can play either no.8 (like in the second half of his debut) or no.10. He’s obviously not ready to play 8 against a top team but home against Brugges he is capable.
Yeah my XI is quite adventurous and McT is a beast, I wouldn’t be surprised if he started alongside Fred. Also wouldn’t be surprised if James started on the wing as he is our most defensive winger and he hopefully won’t be starting against Everton

Difficult to predict his team. A win is critical as top 4 is still a big stretch for me, so Fernandes and Martial should start. Ighalo is still 2 weeks away from being in shape, so it will be any from Greenwood, Chong, Lingard, Pereira and Mata out wide, Greenwood only played 80 mins at the weekend, so that might be a clue. I can only see James playing one game a week for most the remaining season.

@homer – Did you watch Fred on Sunday mate?, there is no way Ole can trust him to anchor our midfield, irrespective of the opposition.

Yeah he struggled especially early on but over the past month or two he has been very good. Watford made it difficult playing very narrow with what looked like 5 central midfielders when Deeney dropped deep. I wouldn’t discount him just by that one performance

Blacky – Fred has been very good for a few months now. One average game and suddenly he’s not good enough. Really?

@happy – As per usual you completely miss the fucking point you plantpot, @homer was suggesting having Fred as our DMF in a very attacking line up versus Club Brugge.
I am merely pointing out that not only is he not suited to that particular role at all, his performance against ‘mighty’ Watford proved that despite his recent upturn in form he is still strictly a ‘work in progress’ at best, and that he should not be left exposed with Bruno as his only midfield partner.
Instead of jumping up and down like a numpty try looking at the bigger picture for a change!

Ha ha, i think the only one jumping up and down is you Blacky me old fruit cake. Not to worry though mate, I’m sure Ole will get his tactics spot on yet again!

@happy – You need to stop taking every little piece of criticism of the club or any individual player as if it’s a personal insult. You were at it again only yesterday with @redblood.
What I said about Fred and his position within the team was perfectly fair and accurate, you could never trust him to play that DMF role without a partner, especially if your previous hero Lindeloaf is playing at CB!.

Oh and by the way, Fred wasn’t just “average” against Watford mate, he was bloody atrocious. I doubt Roy Keane lost the ball in his entire career as much as Fred did during that particular game, simple as that.
