Walsall – top of the League? You’ll get a nose bleed!
I spent a working life in Walsall and cut my football watching football at Fellows Park in the the Hillary Street end and went to school in that street.
Good to see that you are doing well.
October 29, 2015 at 10:21 pm #686563Hey Phoenix I get the impression Walsall and many other fans of lower league clubs have abbandoned this site
October 30, 2015 at 8:40 am #686779The change in ownership of Teamtalk looks as if it has put paid to the interests of lower league fans. As of now it is just the Premiership and not much else although it is being bandied about that each Championship club will soon have its own page so that will be an improvement. That might generate some more traffic.
There’s not much in the way of advertising the site so I suppose it is a question of word by mouth as well.
Things, as they say, can only get better
November 1, 2015 at 2:14 pm #690028It’s a shame how quiet it’s gone. L1 your say page used to be quality when the likes of Leeds, Southampton and Leicester were down with us and we always had the lone deluded MK Donkey making us laugh.
November 30, 2015 at 10:07 am #719546There is the height of depression as regards my beloved LUFC but at least there is a bit of brightness as little Walsall keep getting some very decent results.
I should think that the Saddlers can forget about the “R” word this season and it ain’t even December yet!
COME ON!!
December 13, 2015 at 10:11 pm #737654Just popping up from the last floor down in the engine room. It is true TT have really screwed up in my opinion, I see on Alexa that ranks site traffic popularity etc shows a catestrophic fall, why?
1) 72 teams from Champs to League 2 lose their pages and chat capabilities
2) No interst in anything apart from the Prem, not even Champions League, Europa FA Cup, League cup ar covered except a scant reference or post. ESPN is better than Teamtalk.
3) most of the content is rumour mill stuff off the back pages and totally useless. In summary there are probably good reasons why TT has opted out of being a serious content contributor but when it is gone we will remember what it was like in the golden days, I give TT to the end of the season before they fold they can blame the BBC, club websites with payable pay per view content and ESPN or whoever.
If I were in charge of TT I would give the company a complete makeover and make it profitable, it is possible for TT to do something other than die.
December 16, 2015 at 7:59 am #741338I don’t know that TT is going to last until the end of the season. There is such a lack of banter or interesting comment that this is going to die a natural death. It is actually more than a bit boring.
Even with the Premier League sites it is noticeable that only a few of the clubs have a steady stream of contributions and in those it seems like a few people are bouncing chat amongst themselves so that it is like a private conversation going on.
Anyway can I just point out that Walsall are within spitting distance of the top of League 1. Heady days indeed!
December 22, 2015 at 10:59 pm #754658The others are just keeping top spot nice and warm ready for us to come and take it! TT really badly sucks now. On the old TT there would have been a discussion about the great and now sadly late Jimmy Hill, where as now there was one article and it soon disappeared off the page.
December 24, 2015 at 9:01 pm #757397Sadly there is nothing on here that you can’t get on sky sports website now. Infact sky sports has better L1 and L2 coverage. It’s been a great website for so many years but is now sadly defunct. I can’t even comment on many stories because it says I am not logged in – but I clearly am hence this post. RIP Teamtalk – it’s been a great over the years but now it’s time to let go
December 27, 2015 at 8:09 am #759053I know it is only about half way through the season but Hells Bells! Walsall are top of the League………….
They can forget about the ‘R’ word this season.
COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 3, 2016 at 9:15 am #839498Early February and the Saddlers are a couple of points ahead of the 3rd placed team with a game in hand. Is getting little Walsall into the Championship just a pipedream? Hope it lasts!
March 7, 2016 at 9:45 am #903367Oh dear! Things are going a little pear shaped.
The value of a good Manager / Head Coach not getting the best out of the available playing staff is in full evidence as Sean O’Driscoll parts company with Walsall after just 16 games in charge – the last six of which Walsall lost. Apparently, he made some very stubborn team selection decisions…………..
Hmmm where have I heard that before?
All is not lost yet – we can at least make the play-offs………..
C’ant we?
Come on Guys!!
April 20, 2016 at 7:28 pm #973427Get a grip for Goodness sake! So close to automatic promotion guys!! Come on!!
Little Walsall in the Championship (the old Second Division) and to play Aston Villa next season…………….
Dreams!!!!
April 22, 2016 at 3:43 pm #976598Its there for Walsall’s to lose now.
May 21, 2016 at 5:17 pm #1026963Oh Well. It was fun while it lasted. Losing Dean Smith was a disaster.
