‘Gotta Be A German’. Well it looks as if it might be. David Wagner looks to be favourite now. He’s from the Klopp/Tuchel school of football and not only managed to get Huddersfield promoted but kept them up for a season with probably considerably less money than either Bilic or Big Sam had.

Well, well. Maybe the players will be piped onto the field to the crescendo of Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries? Now we just need Goran in charge of our Slavic scouting division.

Whoever it is, it’s good news that management are getting on with it, and the person who is chosen will have time to get his coaching staff and team all ready for opening day.

Looks like Wagner has seen the light and is now reputed to have joined Youngboys in Switzerland. He probably found out that there was sod all in the transfer kitty cause Lai had pocketed the lot! Derek McInnes is now favourite. Typical Baggies situation.

Absolutely. You couldn’t make it up. S0 how many have almost occupied the hot seat so far? First it was Wilder, then it was Wilder or Lampard, then Uncle Roy got a mention, then Appleton was almost signed, then we had Wagner with his feet under the table before he saw the light. And now, Derek McInnes. Apart from Appleton, all the possibles or probable have one thing in common; they are unemployed and therefore no compensation is due. This might be just the media talking it all up but there’s no smoke without a few sparks.
In fairness < McInnes hasn’t done a bad job at Aberdeen and generally managed to keep them the best of the rest, which is all you can really hope for in Scotland. four seconds, a third and three fourths is not bad – reasonable Championship standard.
