Good win away in Kiev which is not an easy place to go and some lovely football played albeit the opposition were poor.
Pleased for CHO and RLC. Well done to Giroud on his hat trick.
Let’s hope for a decent draw tomorrow.
March 15, 2019 at 12:06 am #1735097Only sides I’d rather not get are the Goons and Napoli.
March 15, 2019 at 2:33 am #1735098Just watched the highlights, we won convincingly. Giroud hattrick, RLC was probably MoM I think. RLC and CHO have to start more often. Play Kante at his usual place to replace Jorg. I doubt Sarri will do this though. Great win. I hope we will get a favorable draw. I think we will get Slavia Prague or Frankfurt !!

Used it many times myself for the FA Cup matches not beamed live in Oz.
March 15, 2019 at 4:17 am #1735101Just wondering why Kiev is not an easy place to go? Is that based on distance travelled, hostilities, temperature, state of the pitch? Certainly not the opponent as it was men versus boys which I thought was blatantly clear after the first leg. At least Sarri had it worked out and lads such as Hazard and Luiz rested up. Probably could and should have left them home in London.
March 15, 2019 at 6:52 am #1735105Well,a convincing win and now on to quarters.Would be very silly of us resting to our laurels thinking winning the Europa is a viable route into Champs Lge next season, still some tough candidates remaining to be ovetcome.Just don’t understand how we play in fits and starts from one game ho the next,Sarri’s number one son Jorginho didn’t start y’day…a common denominator perhaps?,he hasn’t done enough to warrant a starting place in the team nearly every game imo,I’ll scream if he gets put back in and we splutter huff and puff getting nowhere with this possession Sarriball shit v Everton. We need is consistency now.For me the Prem and at least a 4th berth should be our bread and butter,we should be pissing it for 4th not allowing the Arsenals and the Man.U’s of this world to steal a march on us although I have to admit that Man.U are leading a rather charmed existence at the moment with that run of results!.
March 15, 2019 at 8:46 am #173514867, “Just wondering why Kiev is not an easy place to go? Is that based on distance travelled, hostilities, temperature, state of the pitch?” You have answered your own question 67.😊
March 15, 2019 at 8:51 am #1735151Missed the first half due to work but what I saw it was fairly comfortable. Liked the starting 11 and pleased to see both RLC and Hudson Odoi heavily involved in the game and the goals. Pleased for Giroud as well as he never lets us down in the EL
Potential banana skin overcome with some quality and composure. Lets hope for a decent double draw later today (quarters and semi’s picked at the same time so we will know our route to the final…!!). KTBFFH
March 15, 2019 at 8:56 am #1735153Agree with Stuilse be good to avoid the Goons and Napoli. Firstly you really want to play European sides in European competitions and secondly Napoli look the strongest side left in the competition and they gave Liverpool a tough time.
Qtr Final and Semi Final draws both drawn at the same time today and broadcast live on BT Sport at 12 pm.
March 15, 2019 at 8:57 am #1735154There was a very interesting article on Sky yesterday regarding Jorginho. As we all know, he has not been credited with any assists this season at all, however, there is another category that Opta do called something like assists that did not make a goal
Top of that category by a country mile is Jorginho and the reporter explained that there is no one in the EPL who has made more passes that did not lead to a goal and basically he cast doubt on the criticism being levelled at Jorginho. He went on to explain that Jorginho is taking and moving the ball well and quickly and the problem is more the lack of understanding and/or movement from our attacking players because Jorginho was making decent passes for them
Have to say not totally convinced as I see Jorginho trying to force the play and giving the ball away but it will now make me look at games, and Jorginho in particular, in a different light so that maybe I can understand and see exactly what Sarri sees in the player…? KTBFFH
March 15, 2019 at 9:19 am #1735161Certainly not the opposition which I assume was the case with previous visits to Kiev.
March 15, 2019 at 10:07 am #173518367, I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make with your comments mate.
I have never claimed Kiev are a good team albeit they’ve regularly competed in the CL in fact as I said in the first game “we should have scored more and we’ll score over there”. And in the same para you keep referring to, re our 5 nil win I said “albeit the opposition were poor”. Maybe you missed that? And seemingly we both agree! 🙂
March 15, 2019 at 12:48 pm #1735293Couldn’t have asked a better draw than we got. Not only we got a favorable draw. We also had two of our biggest rivals drawn each other. And to make things even sweet we can only meet them in the final. It’s up to us to grab this great opportunity now.
March 15, 2019 at 3:52 pm #1735413YB – agree. We really couldn’t have asked for much more. So long as we do not take anyone lightly then we have an excellent chance albeit the final will not be easy assuming we meet the winners of the Napoli/Arsenal tie. KTBFFH
March 15, 2019 at 10:52 pm #1735480My point is simply with the quality of opposition that Dynamo Kiev were and what we knew from the first match no where on planet earth should or would be not be an easy place to play them and beat them. The conditions that I raised were not something they would not be familiar with nor was it hostile.A three hour each way plane trip is nothing they haven’t endured many times nor is the cold weather which many lunatic supporters appeared willing to brave without shirts on. Anyway leave it at that.
March 15, 2019 at 10:55 pm #1735481Amazing draw and that sort of luck suggests the stars have been alligned for access to the Champions League via this competition. In a final I would back us to beat either Napoli or Arsenal although it would be very tough and that providing Sarri gets his team selection and tactics right of course which is always a worry.
March 16, 2019 at 8:38 am #173550167, ” albeit the opposition was poor” We were always in agreement mate.😊
March 16, 2019 at 8:53 am #1735505You would make a good politician 999. Final say is yours.
March 16, 2019 at 9:00 am #1735510“Good win away in Kiev which is not an easy place to go and some lovely football played albeit the opposition were poor.” “Much ado about nothing” really mate or at the very least a little bit of a misunderstanding between the two of us.
We’ve always been good cyber chums and I don’t want to put that in jeopardy so let’s forget all about it now. All gone and forgotten as far as I’m concerned and never any hard feelings from me. Cyber handshakes.🤝
ps There might be an opening for me though all our politicians are currently c**p!😊
March 18, 2019 at 2:07 pm #1736143Monkey chants allegedly made towards CHO in Kiev. UEFA to investigate.
