Well that was a bit of a farce, Maggie May not bothering to turn up, probably to busy lobbying the establishment. Although thought Fallons quip was quite amusing about looking out your window she is probably sizing up your house to pay for your social care.

Quip of the night went to the Plaid Cymru leader, when Nuttal said we will not pay any divorce bill, she said so you disagree with paying financial commitments during a divorce, we all know blokes like you 🙂 He had no answer.

The divorce analogy from Leanne Wood didn’t make any sense. If our parting from the EU is truly to be a ‘divorce’ surely Britain would be entitled to a return on our investment made to date lol. We’ve still got plenty of money tied up in the EU in property, investments and various schemes. Will be get our portion of those in early returns lol I doubt it.

It was poor of May and Sturgeon not to show but very little was made of Sturgeon not being there. I thought Amber Rudd came across pretty accomplished.

Farron is a bit of a joke, he’s stuck in the scare mongering mindset that contributed to Brexit in the first place.
Nuttall and UKIP aren’t afraid to say what many MPs are afraid to say but do pray on people’s fears at the same time.
Corbyn speaks well and had a lot of support last night, the audience were swinging massively to the left and whooped and hollered like they were on Jerry Springer. I just can’t take the labour party seriously. Diane Abbott, that is all.

The Election is between Labour and the Tories it would have been good to see both Corbyn and May going head to head in a debate without the minority parties.

I was critical of May not turning up until it became apparent that Corbyn had only had an epiphany moment on the day and until I saw the debate which wasn’t great imo.

I agree with Dandy,Amber Rudd in difficult circumstances in standing in for May held her own pretty well and Corbyn is on a bit of a winning run at the moment and didn’t do badly.

The audience was clearly not an even split though and it further questions the BBC’s impartiality.

Tomorrow night’s Question Time special will be interesting.

As a country we have to hope for a decisive result either way as a hung Parliament will be a disaster in terms of the value of the £ and in negotiating Brexit.

The Dementia tax has seemingly badly holed the Tory campaign.

What a monumental cock up this campaign is proving for the Conservatives so far, presented with the task of shooting fish in a barrel they have manged to miss not only the fish, but the bloody barrel as well. Ha ha.
Meanwhile Corbyn begins to look positively Presidential by comparison.
Of course Teresa May has a difficult task when the debate swings away from the Brexit debate, she is the head of an extremely right wing government, ready to serve it up to the poorest and the weakest in the community and committed to privatisation of the NHS by the back door so, even using the UKIP party as camouflage, she does occasionally have to emerge into the open.
It seems that the diet of privatised energy, transport and communication services and the subsequent huge expense, is taking its toll even on the spirits of the dumb English crackers who vote Tory every time. Not that it will make that much difference to the result, almost two out of every three people will vote against the Tories and our bent political system will still see them to power, though not perhaps with the expected majority.

Knotter – Have to agree May only had to have a reasonable campaign to stroll this election, but as you say the not only missed the fish but the barrel, I would go one further and say they managed to get their own foot 🙂

Yes the Tories will get in, but I think the result will be a bit of a wake up call for them, especially the younger generation vote, as it seem unless your name is Tarquin and you were at Eton, the majority of the under 30’s are firmly behind Labour. I have been wondering why this is, and I think the younger side of this group have not been scarred by some of the past governments, and I also think especially from social media they seem to be siding with policies and not personnel, one thing I will agree with Dandy on is they should somehow try to rid themselves of that joke that is Diane Abbott, she has done them far more damage than Corbyn ever has.

Dandy – It was Nuttall, himself that brought up the word divorce not Leanne Wood, as far as Nuttall himself goes he isn’t afraid to say anything true or not, I( mean how can you ever trust a man that said he was present at Hillsborough when he wasn’t, to try and give himself some Kudos?

True enough paxman, he has distanced himself/ made excuses for those comments but it reeks really. To be honest they’ve all been quick to chuck the Manchester word in any chance they get even when there’s no reason to.

Did anybody see Tim Farron on Andrew Neil? It was cringe worthy. I don’t know how Neil voted but he seems quite right wing and him and Farron clashed throughout. Mainly because Farron evaded questions by setting off into a personal tale of woe instead of answering Neil’s questions.

The debate was interesting last night, the issue of May’s dreadful record with the NHS was brought up, whilst Tory audience members seemed to think Corbyn’s unwillingness to kill millions in a nuclear holocaust was an important issue. How dumb is that? anyone who is WILLING to kill millions to satisfy the mob should be the one eyed suspiciously. Not the other way around.

Johnny, May’s dreadful record with the NHS?

May was Home Secretary Johnny until a few months ago and didn’t have any role in the management of the NHS.

No matter who is in Government we won’t overcome the problems in the NHS until we all agree to pay more money into it ourselves that’s the effect of an ever expanding population who now live much longer.

I would happily pay a top up tax purely for the NHS.

Of course nobody wants a Nuclear War and of course jaw jaw is much better than war war but Trident is a deterent and a very very expensive deterent at that and there’s no point in having it as a deterent if our enemies know that those that run our country won’t use it even if we came under Nuclear attack!

Johnny – In an ideal world there would be MND but there isn’t. How would you defend the British Isles against a nuclear attack? The idealist in my says it will never happen, the realist says it might just.

Are the Tories destroying the NHS to make it easier to privatise? 100 percent yes.

Is the UK going to be under nuclear attack in the next 5 years?
    100 percent no.

Voting Tory will condemn actual, real people to death, whilst no one will be dying in the imaginary nuclear war.

You didn’t answer my question JU. Much like Corbyn last night ha.
Trident isn’t a pop-up shop you can deactivate on the whims of the current leader. It’s much bigger than that. Having trident doesn’t mean we want or will use a nuclear weapon. It acts as a deterrent. 45 years ago the world was on the brink of nuclear war, people haven’t changed, in 45 years we could be in the same position.

Dandy, I said 5 years as that is the length of time until another election. A new PM possibly at that point. In 45 years Jeremy Corbyn will be dead and definitely not PM lol

In the real world, we do not need a nuclear deterrent. We are not at war with any nuclear power and if Iran or NK developed nuclear weapons, the US would intervene before they could be used. If a nuclear weapon was actually fired at us, which will not happen, the Yanks would be compelled to remove whoever was involved. But it wouldn’t happen, we are an irrelevance in this sort of warfare.

The problem is Johnny political views aside the majority of the country believe that we should have Trident as a deterrent even the grass roots Labour Party but if the Prime Minister of the Country whoever that may be wont use it then it’s not a deterrent and its a massive waste of the Countries money.

Corbyn has done much better than anyone ever thought possible even him and May has scored several own goals which has helped him along the way but last night on this issue and how he handled it like it or not might well have cost him the Election.

    We’ll see.

Buying something which can never be used is a waste of money whatever way you look at it. Who is it deterring? Nobody. May would kill millions? Great. That explains why she is destroying the NHS.

From what I have seen from Corbyn he has retracted the comment about not using trident whatever, he has since said he would use it as a last resort, and let’s face it thqat is the only time a nuclear weapon should be used.

For his entire political career, over thirty years, Jeremy Corbyn has been totally opposed to Trident and nuclear weapons. As recently as 2015 he confirmed that if ever elected to office he would instruct the UK’s defence chiefs to never under any circumstance use the Trident nuclear weapons system. He made that statement on BBC’s Radio 4’s Today programme.

However with just a few days to the election he seems to have had a change of heart! “Quelle surprise” Now the question is what’s worse. A pacifist in charge of our ultimate defence system or a man prepared to go against a lifetimes principals for the chance to further his own career.

If the exit poll is accurate the dreadful Theresa May has had a disaster. Could see her being ousted very quickly. PM Rudd or PM Johnson. Depressing.

Of course the exit poll may not be accurate as people lie coming out of the polling station about voting Tory. It’s feels like you are admitting to being a
