“England should never be a host nation of a major football tournament again.”
Very few if any countries in the world have the infrastructure to host these events without bankrupting the country, so our time will come again whether the St George slayers want it or not. Saying England should never host a tournament again doesn’t feel like a very objective or helpful thing to say.
Though I agree the actions of England’s fans is deplorable, it is very reflective of our current government and their dog whistle socially divisive politics, which has enabled and emboldened racists and thugs to speak their minds and do as they please in the name of patriotism.
Wonderfuel Gass you claim the English fans have been great that leaves me to wonder where you’ve been watches the Euros certainly couldn’t have been at Wembley.
I’m like most fair minded football fans whichever country they might reside or wherever their loyalties might lie am appaled by the racial abuse aimed at the three young lads on social media who took the penalties and some of the thuggery that went on from some so called England fans yesterday and I am supportive of anyone calling out those responsible for it.
However one or two on here have been involved in covert racism against England or anything English for a number of days now and it needs to cease for the overall good of the site.
You’re words and actions are in danger of inflaming the situation on the site and if it continues as a moderator I will have no hesitation in strongly petitioning James to review this thread and take whatever actions he thinks appropriate to put an end to it.
Hopefully that will be not be neccessary and common sense will prevail.
Might add nine nine nine that that there is some absolute uninformed nonsense being written. From people who have clearly never watched a game in Italy, Turkey, Russia, Holland or Croatia – all places where I have felt in genuine fear of my life, not just had a song booed.
I remember in Zagreb one cold autumn night their firm (army) marched past the cafe I was having a drink in before the game and i swear it took about five minutes for them all to pass…and every single one of the buggers looked like Tyson Fury!
So stop with your cliched stereotypes you tedious little welps…the behaviour of some England fans was unacceptable, some things that happened last night were unforgivable. But they go on the whole world over except in boring Iceland and England fans in general are a credit to the country.
That is coming from a Manchester United fan who doesn’t have that much time for international football.

Instead of going for the fans, I strongly suggest cleaning up your FA… They are getting lawsuits against themselves for not providing enough safety features, not enough stewards etc…
