I’m Irish. I follow an English team . I’ve been to Liverpool , Manchester and london many many times. Great cities with great people.
Sunday was just crazy stuff. It just made no sense whatsoever. It has actually tainted England’s tournament. Why smash the place up?
Agree with wonderful gas that the policing was terrible. I don’t think they were prepared for the amount of bodies on Wembley way.
Then absolute idiots smashing Leicester Square up and the whole thing is furled by drink
People drinking from 8 and out of their bracket by 12.
It was an absolutely huge day for England. Pity the way it all ended.
July 15, 2021 at 3:49 pm #1972537Bingo – Unless you can provide evidence of 27 Million English people mocking that little girl, you have nothing factual to back that up. Using the Red Tops as a gauge for the nations moral compass is pretty stupid.
July 16, 2021 at 7:16 am #1972660The drinking culture is right Sean….and I write as a former alcoholic. Irish fans drink just as much at the game but manage to do it without the need for a fight and to smash things up. Not like you are all a bunch of softies either, unlike the Icelandics.
You are so right about the police too, it was a massive cock up of Cressida Dick proportions. Astonishing really when you look at how they have all but eliminated hooliganism from the domestic game with highly effective policing methods and then sat around on their hoops last Sunday.
Wembley is known as a stadium that is, shall we say, easy to gain access to. In the early rounds handfuls of people were walking in but as the Czech Republic became Germany became Denmark….more and more people knew the drill and how easy it was to get in. And if the people knew, the police should know….and do something about it.
If Boring Bingo and tiny tom get their wish and England and Ireland don’t get the 2030 World Cup it won’t be because of the fans…it will be because our police and authorities failed to handle security for the biggest matches of all. Personally I think they should give it to Spain and Portugal and we can all have a nice summer in the sunshine.
July 16, 2021 at 9:02 am #1972686This isn’t an attack on England or the English but its something I read that I feel needs more exposure.
According to the NCDV, domestic violence goes up 38% when England lose and 26% if they win or draw. This to me is shocking and deserves far more press attention than some dickhead with a flare up his hoop. The image the NCDV uses of a woman with blood forming the St George’s cross is particularly poignant.
July 16, 2021 at 9:11 am #1972690It was disgusting what happened to Saka, Sancho and Rashford. Shouldn’t happen, especially over football. However the way communities came together to support these players has been fantastic. The mural messages which the local people left for Rashford reflects that community far better than the twat who defaced it, for example.
The idiots who racially abuse people are the minority, and a tiny, tiny minority at that.
As for Wembley – what a shambles. I did read though that Wembley itself was to blame for the lack of police there as they have to pay for policing (like all clubs do) and try to save money each match by having minimal police numbers there. Shocking scenes.
July 16, 2021 at 9:26 am #1972692True Tommy, I know a few friends who travel a lot to Ireland games and it’s a proper piss up. They certainly don’t travel to watch good football 😂
We have a good reputation but we still have a few gobshites who cause trouble but it’s never reported.
Alfie, so easy to hide behind social media but some of these racists actually post under their real profile mate and good to see a few arrests tvis week. One was a 37 year estate agent ffs. His job is gone and he will be charged. His name is all over the papers. Named and shamed and he will get everything he deserves
July 16, 2021 at 11:55 am #1972727Yep, keyboard warriors who have had a drink.
Crazy that some use accounts with their names on. I don’t use social media at all but I was surprised how easy it was for these idiots to be outed.
I think other idiots need to see the outcome of this and may think twice. Papers should list the twats by name for all to see, along with their comments.
July 17, 2021 at 7:44 pm #1973094There be a fair few from here on that list…
July 17, 2021 at 8:26 pm #1973107Did I miss the post where you held your hands up and admitted you dropped a bollock about the BBC footage? Or am I confusing you with someone who has a bit of humility about them…
July 18, 2021 at 7:26 am #1973140Fair few racists on here is right bingo with you and Tom k leasing the way

Pretty clear cut on the Erickson footage. Bingo, time to apologise and accept that you were wrong on that front.
July 18, 2021 at 9:57 am #1973182Lol
Lads, bingo apologise for being wrong ??? Will never happen lolLove the chap as he comes out with some absolute rubbish 😂
July 18, 2021 at 2:48 pm #1973267Are you guys really stupid enough to believe that excuse from the bbc?
Its the only tv station in europe that did that and you believe their excuse…
You must be mad..
July 18, 2021 at 3:03 pm #1973273My guess is that the English media doesn’t report half the stuff your fans actually do…
I would feel safer in the slums of Rio than at a game with your fans…
July 18, 2021 at 3:07 pm #1973274The mistake the BBC did was they didn’t cut the broadcast until too late. They have no control over the images shown, it is a unified feed controlled by a team under the responsibility of uefa. Espn and zdf in germany also showed the images with zdf cutting to a show too late. Not as late as the BBC, but certainly late enough that the upsetting images were seen. Both have been heavily criticised. I’m sure every broadcaster did something similar.
What did Iceland do? They had the exact same images, did they cut it early?
July 18, 2021 at 3:16 pm #1973279No other tv station in Europe did that…
Why is the BBC the only TV station in Europe to zoom in on his distraught wife?
Im sure as fuck that you don’t like my answer or the millions of other answers from other fans…
Why did you make fun at a ten year old?
It just adds up until everyone despises you…
July 18, 2021 at 3:36 pm #1973281Bingo, you’re making yourself looking incredibly stupid.
July 18, 2021 at 3:50 pm #1973285Bingo, you need to stop this nonsense as has been confirmed the BBC didn’t control the pictures that were being broadcast your attempts to blacken England and everything English on an English football site is anti English and anti England and borders on racism and all this started way way before the dreadful misbehaviour of the England fans which everyone on here has condemned.
Enough is enough Bingo stop the vitriol and move on!
July 18, 2021 at 4:13 pm #1973296How did it then happen that every other tv station did not do that? Why are you guys special?
And what about that 10 year old! Grown men making fun at 10 year old kid!!!
Take some responsibility… dont just point at the next guy and say he did it too…
And im not saying all english… anyone here that got a problem with me should look at himself…
Im just glad that i dont have to go to major tournament in England as I dont want to deal with your hooligans that run your game…
July 18, 2021 at 4:14 pm #1973297Never in the history of the euros has the final been such a fiasco… you had drunk hooligans bribing their way into the stadium, stealing seats from paying fans… you beat them up… make fun at kids…
Thats the legacy you guys left! Be proud, you deserve it…
