Ciaran..you are a sick puppy. I feel sorry for you, ranting and raving at a time when you should be smiling.

My brother took my sister’s young son to the game tonight. It was his first trip to Anfield, and the poor lad had to sit amongst 1800 or so diehard Albion fans who, according to my brother, lapped up the occasion.

I know we need to repeat this in the league, or we are in trouble. But this is a huge psychological boost for everyone.

So I couldn’t give a fiddler’s fuck whether you saw the game or not (I did)….what happened tonight warmed my heart and so let’s hope it inspires us to Wembley and for the rest of the season.

I agree Derwent. When Albion put on their best display and their best result for years (three goals in the first half at Anfield! – and it could have been more) does it matter if there was a small bias in the commentating? Let’s enjoy the moment – and what it promises for the future. And it proves what I’ve maintained all along that under the Clown these players were effectively shackled. I’m sure that one of the big things AP has done is simply to say go out there and show us what you can do. The big change in this match was that Rodriguez may turn out to be the player to solve our lack of goals problem. Two perfect finishes suggest this. So I say to Ciaran enjoy and hope!

I’m siding a little bit with Ciaran here and think credit should be given where it’s due. Yes, we should enjoy the well deserved win but we should be recognised for it as well. We won, not because Liverpool where that bad but because Pardew got the tactics right and JRod took his chances. It made me laugh in the lead up to the game McMannaman said how important the FA Cup was to Liverpool and at the end he said this is the least important competition that Liverpool are is so losing did not matter. The commentary was totally biased and unbalanced. Anyway, we are used to it by now, so it’s on to Citeh on Wednesday. A draw would be a bonus but Saturday against the Saints is a must win. COYB.

Out on Saturday night so recorded the game and began watching in bed at midnight. Fully expected to fall asleep and when Pool scored reached for the remote but dropped it on the floor and in the time it took me to retrieve it we had equalised! There was no sleeping then but I did wonder if I had subconsciously drifted back to the late 60’s such was the style of our play and the resolve shown at the end when we were effectively down to 9 men. This was nothing short of a terrific performance and not a game that Liverpool lost but one that we won on merit.

The players have definitely responded in full to the new approach adopted by AP and whilst we still have a hell of a job on our hands to survive the season the odds are much better playing this way. Everyone other than RK played well and I am having to review my opinion of Rodriguez. Perhaps playing the ball to him along the ground rather than lumping it through the air has helped make the difference but whatever the reason long may his improved form continue.

Another striker would help the cause but Deeney? Not for my money – his scoring rate is no different from those we already have. The defence is solid enough with or without Evans and if the second Egyptian is as good as Hegazi we should all be happy. Personally I would be prepared to write off the City match and get as many of the first choice players fully fit for Saturday as possible. We might lose some of our small advantage in terms of goal difference but 3 points at the weekend are now vital. Add in a couple of soft draws in the FA Cup and who knows we might just be making our way to Wembley again and who would have thought that possible just a week or two ago? Keep the faith.

If the rumours are true we not only have Gabr on loan but Daniel Sturridge! It would be nice if it’s true but I’m not holding my breath.

Do you sleep in a bunk bed or have a candle lit house is that why it took so long to find it?
