Nice 4-1 and that’s without playing Firmino and Mane

“as that’s just too much space for him to cover.”

Exactly my point. He didn’t react to the turn over and midfield bypass quick enough so gave himself too much to make up. Poor Matip was left with 2 on his own. Often the mistake isn’t the final part of the move but the one just before.

Matip had a pop at Trent in the first half I think it was when he didn’t track back quick enough and Matip ‘had’ to make the tackle to avoid a potential 1v1 against Alisson. Trent, despite all his wonderful qualities, often doesn’t switch quick enough when we lose possession and that’s why we keep a centre half and a mid within close proximity to him as an insurance policy when we are in possession.

I wouldn’t swap Trent for any other right back, he is great and will be regarded as a legend in time. But he does leave a lot of space behind him which is fine most of the time but he needs to spot danger quicker and react.

Yes Threeps, I agree, most effective player in that position in world football atm. It’s a symptom of our style of play. Sometimes we get away with it and sometimes we get done.

Missed my point you simply can’t expect Trent to cover that much space it’s impossible.

Watching the goal back today it’s actually both center backs at fault no major faults but they both over commit in position.

As for this Trent narrative it is simply trash he practically plays right wing. Leaving space in behind is the tactics to creat overloads in the final third. That’s why we have very good center backs to cover & also a world class DM.
People & the media always have a go at Trents supposedly inferior defensive game. I am not having it any more if he played as a traditional RB reserved in his movement he would be solid. But that’s not what Klopp wants when ever we get choir in those areas it’s the tactics not the players in most instances.

If you wanted to share “agent rafa” videos, there are a few of those on YouTube.
