Last season we did the double over Everton (only our second in the last decade) winning 2-0 at home and 4-1 away.

I have no idea how this game will end. I know one thing and that’s Everton will get stuck in which is what we’re not doing atm. I expect Dyche to execute full on Burnley style tactics.

    Who will start? Ho-hum…

Alisson, Milner, Phillips, Gomez, Roberton, Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Gapko, Nunez and Mo is who I’m going for.

What I’m also going for is first 0-0 league double in almost 50 years.

Philips comes in for me and Milner starts in midfield

At least Milner will get stuck in

    Is vvd back?

You would drop half that team. Horrible game with dyche tactics but we have to be up for a fight.

Yea Dyche/Everton are gonna dog this one and kick all round them. That’s the reason I’m not sure we’ll see Bajetic start this game.
Philips comes in for me too after the appalling performances from our centrebacks last game, however one of them is gonna have to start so I’ll plump for Gomez. Seems a better fit beside Philips.
By the time this game come round Fabinho won’t have kicked a ball in over 2 weeks. Is this the game to risk him coming back or will Klopp try to “rehabilitate” him for the Newc/Madrid games? Perhaps Hendo to start at the 6 here for this one. Thiago takes one of the midfield positions for me.
Front 3 likely to be Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
    Who else is there??
Jota back in full training but doubt he’ll be rushed back. Defo out if this game. Maybe a sub appearance v Newc with a view to start against Madrid.
So many uncertainties with the team selection and with several days still to go who know what team goes out.
Perhaps something along the lines of…
    Allison
    TAA/Milner, Philips, Gomez, Robbo
    Kieta/Milner, Hendo, Thiago
    Salah, Nunez, Gakpo

Regardless of the team selection it would be nice to start the game with a bit of desire, intensity and aggression for once.
    ❌ no early goals
    ❌ no conceding first goal
    ❌ no stupid fucking mistakes
❌ no goals conceded from set pieces.
Not too much to ask really.
Oh and if the forwards could score a goal it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yes, I would drop Trent as he defended like a lemon at Wolves but that could also apply to most of the team too. Dyche instantly implemented a 451 which helped combat Arsenal’s midfield and it worked a treat. No doubt we’ll go 433, as per.

Our knack for conceding first and early, coupled with our inability to come back into games, even against mediocre opposition has been infuriating. I’m expecting a loss, and I’ve never been a pessimistic fan.

Maybe it’s my own personal stuff like going back drinking but I am just burnt out. I’ve missed so many Liverpool games but they don’t seem to care. I see Robertson and Nunez running their asses off but few others seem to be giving it more than 80%.

Honestly, I dont think Im going to watch this match. That isnt all because of the above but the site I was watching the Wolves ame on, literally took my PC down and I had to reinstall Windows.
I have layers of protection but my PC seems to be on it’s last legs, hardware-wise, so ya… I’m not wanting to repeat that process again if I can help it. Lost some data in that one. Nothing super important but ya…

    This season is over IMO.
I hope for damage control more than anything else. We skirted past a January window that could have helped us in our bid to gain CL football.
Damage control measures now, in that we just keep Klopp and FSG, you either sell before the summer window, or back the living shit out of him. If neither of these are the case then Klopp should resign. I’m not saying “Klopp Out”, but more that he is a waste of talent if he isnt backed, just as Salah is a waste of talent, so late on in his career, without proper support and supply.

I really don’t know. I’ve been going on about us needing to get the average age down for years and were it not for covid, FSG would have sold sooner… that’s the only kink in their plans. They didnt plan to sell when the team was burnt out and past it’s sell-by date.

anyway, be well lads. I think as fans we’ve got to hunker down and swat down the “KLOPP OUT!” fools.

I will add that I got a bit of satisfaction from Ten Haggs statement abouut Klopp and Pep and how all good things must come to an end…. and then he draws at home to Leeds.

All good things must also start, asshole! lol

    cheers boys

LOL Rob, I have a lot more faith in Jota than I do the other injury prone players. He has actual value for us IMO. Of course, I dont really know mhow we can get a settled front 3 that looks decent but a lot of that rests on us basically not having a midfield.

I dont like to say it because Im a huge fan of his but I even wonder about Thiago not too. You lads have seen a lot more of the team than me recently tho…

Mate, MrMak, if you struggle with drinking let us know… ynwa

I reckon you get a lot of points right there…

Its one thing after the next and all of a sudden 10 players might leave next summer…

Im impatient as I 100% agree with it would be such a waste of talent if the club does not back Klopp in the market…

Every club that has been a contender for the past decade has had a yo-yo effect between season…

So i try to keep that in mind but I just dont understand why the club is risking so much as everyone around us has strengthened and caught up with both us and City.

Hope you’re okay, Mak! I know the football isn’t exactly providing alot of cheer at the moment, but to fully appreciate the good days you have to be prepared to cope with the shit days. Metaphor for life, I guess!

Anyway, keep your chin up, lad!

We just need to win this game, to do this we have to use our greatest weapons to our maximum advantage, which is to exploit the pace of Gakpo and Núñez to cause panic, wind our opponents up and get their players sent off.

It’s obvious they’ll play 451 to try and kill the game, with their usual rough tactics, so I’d play our most experienced midfield here.

Also, no more silly, costly errors, any player who keeps repeating this crap should find another club in the summer.

    Alisson
    Trent Matip Gomez Robbo
    Henderson Fabinho Keita
    Salah Núñez Gakpo

Thiago hasn’t been able to train this week due to hip flexor injury. Very doubtful for this game.
