    Hi guys,
As I mentioned I took my wife for the Liverpool game. First, I will agree with those calling for Benteke to be dropped to the bench. Unfortunately, our other strikers were injured, and I really would have loved to watch my fellow Norwegian Sørloth play up front. He could have won us the match.
My impressions from the game is however quite positive and I got back from the match in good mood despite the loss. Here is why:
We work together as a team and the work rate of every player was very good. We are also playing and challenging teams with flair and entertaining football.
Zaha even half-fit is a threat and will be even better when we play teams around us. The midfield is stronger than I can ever remember and with Ruben fit we will dominate the remaining matches in this department.
My conclusion is that the team I saw playing Liverpool with the addition of Sørloth, Loftus-Cheek and Tomkins will gather 12 points from the remaining matches. I predict wins vs Brighton, Leicester, WBA and draws vs Watford, Bournemouth and Stoke.
The home crowd at Selhurst also gave their good support to the team and the away support of the Liverpool fans were as good as I have ever seen an away following. It all made a tight and entertaining match. At the full-time signal there was not a bad atmosphere as I think the boys did give their best effort and with just a little luck we would have got three and at least a point vs a team that has qualified for the Champions league quarter final and also a place in next year’s competition.
I was a bit unsure about Roy in the beginning, but his calmness, experience and belief rub off on the whole squad. I also trust that in the dressing room he can show a much more direct and aggressive mood when needed.
Got myself the home strip for myself and my wife and will proudly wear it for the remaining fixtures which I trust will give us enough points to plan for a new season in the Premier League. Up the Palace and hopefully we will enjoy some good games the coming weeks.
    Cheers from The Norwegian Eagle!

Yes, it’s a funny old thing… with a fit squad we can pretty much match the best in the division and give them all a run for their money, yet we are fighting for survival… I do think we can stay up.. and if we do.. we need to get shot of Benteke and buy at least two more strikers to give us 4 plus the odd one from the U23’s.. We need options, along with injuries our lack of goals from strikers has been our downfall.. If we had two forwards each scoring 10 goals, we’d be in the top 10 if not 8.. I also think we need two more young fast tricky wingers.. This will give us cover for the flanks, we have only got two decent flank men and that simply isn’t enough.. I’m looking forward to seeing Wickham and Sorloth with long runs in the team, both are far more hungry and willing to run.. Benteke doesn’t fit anymore, we are a counter attacking team and that doesn’t work for benteke.. He cannot get in the box or position himself when he does… Hope we survive because if we do, I think Roy will make some great additions and we will be quite frightening..

    Hi,
Yesterdays game just underlined and put in perspective the ability we possess. A Liverpool side that seems destined for the semi-final was close to being beaten by us.

Looking forward to the next game!

I agree Norwegian, our spirit will keep us up not Roy. Had Roy started Ladapo and other youngsters months ago we wouldn’t be in this position. Why hasn’t he given the other keeper we just signed a go? If we survive the drop will give Roy one more season and start looking for someone else, if not show him the door. As an aside I prefer Warnock any day over Hodgson.

Perth.. funny old game… I liked Warnock in Championship, his attitude is if you can’t beat em, beat em up… works down in that division, but his crude Rocky style approach is just not fit for purpose in the Prem, he’s short of ideas, doesn’t make him a bad manager, it’s just tactically he’s a better fit lower down, he’s no match for Prem managers (the average and good ones, not the likes of Pardew, Hughes etc).

For me personally, I think we have not seen such good footie even given our dire injury problems, for me Roy is the best manager we have had in a long time, I hope we stay up, stay fit and he get’s to add a few of thr players he want’s to add, because if all that happens we will be quite frightening and I genuinely think Roy can make us a top 8-10 team ….

What we also need to look at is this… Where were we when we brought Roy in, where were WBA when they brought Pardew in… Given our injuries, I doubt there are many managers around that would have Palace 2 points above the drop when inheriting a team with the worst start ever in prem history…

Yes you are probably right Jabbs, I still like Warnock not sure about Roy with better ideas. I picked RLC to replace Benteke as soon as I knew he wouldn’t be playing, Roy is so predictable. Unless we get an injury doubt there will be movement off the bench before the 78 minute. He does bring stability though, I’ll give him that. Here’s to a 2-1 win.

Another 2 points dropped from a winning position. Young Daly on the bench not even given a chance. Again no subs made . Was that our undoing or was it a case of missing too many chances. And why are we conceding so many goals from corners again?
