Shaw out for 12 weeks, basically the rest of the season. What a fucking joke it’s becoming

Shaw’s injury record is abject. As is Varane’s.
Two players who need to be phased out as they are utterly unreliable.
Malacia will not be the long term answer either as he isn’t good enough. Harry Amass who turns 17 soon is the great hope but far too young right now.
None of Maguire / Lindelof / Evans offer even a short term solution to replace Varane. Kambawala may be a medium term shout but needs experience on loan for a year or more.
Factor in a dodgy keeper behind the defence and a near arthritic midfield with any of Eriksen, Bruno and Casemiro in front and its clear we are in the shit.
Ffp and failure to qualify for champions league could mean persisting with a majority of the above for another season.

killy, I think the clause says that if Ratcliffe matches any offer they have to sell to him?

I’d start with overhauling the defence first if i was Ratcliffe and Co. No real point in buying a centre back, a central midfielder, a striker and a right winger this summer. Its too much of a scatter gun approach to the holes in the squad.
Just go out and buy 6 defenders who will be the mainstay of the team for the next 5 years. Keep Martinez and Dalot (and maybe Shaw) and just have a whole new defence.
Then next summer overhaul the midfield…

@happy – It’s not a scattergun approach when you buy players for different positions within the team as long as you identify the right players and don’t overspend on them, something that hasn’t happened for far too long. I would agree that we need at least two new CB’s and two new FB’s, but we also need to replace the entire midfield barring Mainoo as well plus you cannot ignore the pathetic lack of options we have both out wide and up top either.
In reality I would expect 4/5 to go out and 4/5 to come in with a net spend of around 150 mill maximum unless the correct big calls are made to get rid of both Gashy and Bruno.

Apparently Shaw has now missed over 200 games through injury since he signed, that’s a fucking disgrace and quite why all our players are taking three months to recover from soft muscle injuries I’m not quite sure. Back in the day a calf strain was a couple of weeks and a thigh/hamstring strain was about a month but nowadays it’s three fucking months. That’s now Casemiro, Shaw (twice), AWB and Mason fucking Mount who have all missed many months of football with similar complaints this season, which is a situation I don’t see happening with such regularity at other clubs.

Ratcliffes interview about the the stadium and his plans. He said he spoke to Gary Neville about the future and the stadium. How are them leaches from the class of 92 always somehow fucking lingering in the background.

Ratcliffe talks to these guys, he’s smart enough to know who to listen to properly and what he wants to take on board. There’s enough fans in the world who still think the sun shines out of the Class of ’92s asses so Ratcliffe is probably just being smart by saying, ‘I’ve spoke to these guys.’ That’s all it is. He also spoke to Rangnick before the sale went through. He’s under no illusions and won’t let anyone pull the wool over his eyes. He didn’t get to where he’s gotten by listening to assholes and doing what they say. He’s probably been listening to assholes his whole life but has gotten ahead by knowing what parts of his conversation with the asshole to take on board and what to ignore.

Tugayisgod – When was the season Le Saux and Batty had a punch up on the pitch? That was insane!

The season after during our ill fated Champions League campaign. Although Mike Newell got the fastest ever Champions League hat trick when we beat Rosenborg 4-1 in our last game. This has now been beaten by Gomis and Salah since.

Did anyone else see the tactical analysis that Carragher did on us on last night’s MNF? It highlighted just how wide open we are and the space we allow opposition players to do precisely as they please, especially in transition. There is basically a 30 metre square area in the middle of the pitch that is completely devoid of any United players most of the time, which has been the case since the very first match of the season. When you see it all laid out like that you can only conclude that the work being done on the training ground is practically non existent.
If Ten Bob and his staff had any sort of clue whatsoever they would have found some sort of a solution by now, but the Fulham game showed that he’s still nowhere near doing so. The clueless cunt and his goons simply have to go before he does any more damage, simple as that.

Fulham game was similar to the Wolves game. Huge gap right through the middle of the park.
