Rashford Mark II, new contract, I’ll bang them in. Now that I have it, couldn’t be arsed. England squad for Euros, I’ll start trying again. Interesting to see how he does now he mightn’t make the squad. Form will go through the roof or take a nose dive

“Luis Rubiales: Prosecutors want jail for World Cup kiss”.

    What?
Is this for real? What the fuck is this world coming to?
The guy is obviously a bit of a cock, he got carried away in the moment and did something really fucking inappropriate. But you can’t send him to jail for 2 and a half years for kissing someone!
    WTF????

@happy, agreed. He’s lost his job, all respect, he’s a laughing stock. As long as he apologises that should be enough, maybe a hefty fine. Has he apologised though?

Regarding the kiss, its a woke western world and they are coming after the white man. His best defense would be if he identify as a woman and claming he is a lesbian. Or a trans they get away with every thing.

Agreed with a lot of the above. Rabiot on a free should be a no brainer and his wages will be covered by the departures of Eriksen and vdB
Hermoso on a free would be an amazing deal. We’d finally have two quality left footed CB’s and I’d even keep Evans around another season for extra depth on low wages
Greenwood return would solve our RW and backup CF issues

Is the most damning indictment of ETH the fact that we haven’t evolved at all after two years? I know we’re not better, but are we worse? I’m not sure and that’s terrible, after the money he’s spent and nearly two full seasons and two full pre seasons. I know coaches need to be given time, like Arteta at Arsenal, but you could see where Arteta was going, what he wanted to do. I just can’t see anything here. We’re still making the same mistakes, making the same errors in judgement, just bad all over for such an expensively assembled squad. Coaches deserve time but ETH has wasted it so far and I just can’t see where improvements are going to come from even with new players coming in.

Killy – Can you please explain “where Arteta was going” in his early awful seasons at Arsenal? Every Arsenal fan I know wanted him gone. They saw nothing.

Arteta had a system, it wasn’t perfect but there was a discernible style of play, it was slow taking shape but it was there and he stuck with it. There was a structure within the club, outside of the team, that supported the manager, Edu knew what Arteta wanted, where he was going and supported it.
I don’t think that exists for us. ETH came in wanting to play the ‘Ajax’ way, saw he didn’t actually have the players to do it or the money to get who he wanted. The problem is that now that he can’t do the Ajax thing he’s fucked because he doesn’t know what else to do. It’s the only system he knows so now he’s got no plan B.

@happy – You need to give up your irrational Arteta obsession and concentrate on matters closer to home mate, that’s where all the problems are.

Fair enough. I just don’t remember any discernible style from Arteta during those 3 years. You could argue ETH had a playing style last season when he finished 3rd in the league and reached both the domestic cup finals.
I guess the decision will be do they stick with him for 1 more season whilst they get the footballing structure right or do they change now. Either way you can see the likes of Maguire, Varane and Casemiro have no future at the club. So its a big summer of change ahead anyway. If the decision making power of players coming and going is taken away from Erik then maybe things will instantly improve?

Arteta did sign the likes of Fabio Vieira for £35m, Kiwior for £20m, Ramsdale for £28m, Lokonga for £17.5m, Partey for £50m – i suppose he did get a couple of good seasons out of him.
It’s not as bad as ETH obviously but big mistakes were made during Arteta’s first few years as well. He was allowed to finish 8th under no pressure because they trusted his process.
We need to do the same. Not necessarily with Erik but with someone.

I’ll stop banging on about it now! 😉

With the possible exception of Vieira and Partey, they’ll get more than they paid for all of those players. I can’t see how that’s going to happen with any of ETH’s signings

Its a myth that we have ever played with style under Tenbob. There was a period after the diastrous start last season that we played some half decent football until the League cup final. Its been awaful since and getting worse.
Don’t forget that useless fucking Swede Lindeloaf who has no future at the club!?

I have just enjoyed watching the U18 team absolutely annihilate their vermin counterparts by a scoreline of 1-9, and it could easily have been well into double figures. What a pleasure it was to see United players playing as a proper team with heart, desire, technique and not a little power and flair as opposed to those horrible, sulky self entitled fucktards in the first team.

wow. unbelievable football tonight. incredible quality. that arsenal are able to bring trossard and Jesus on — strong bench. always feel the gunners are stronger with trossard in the team. that’s 13 goals this season, a lot of it from the bench. the city v Madrid game was full of screamers. lovely to watch football at that level. hope Madrid can win the tie. not keen on city winning the league or the champions league. so anyone else will do for me.
