Has Sir Jim effectively paid 1.25bn for the privilege of directing football operations for a club majority owned by the Glazers?
250K investement in OT will be the equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig. It’s definitely not going to be a major overhaul and will be incremental gains over the medium to long term.

However, it will hopefully spell the end of a decade of absolute criminal negligence and incompetence on recruitment and player contract management.

Over 1 billion pissed away by a succession of CEO’s and managers (and Murtough) and it can only be hoped that the days of 250k per week salaries for lazy chumps like Martial and 80m transfer fees for average players like Maguire and Antony are a thing of the past.

250m I should have stated – didn’t the Qatari’s say they had 1.5m set aside for stadium. Academic anyhow as the Glazers don’t care re stadium.

I’d normally be excited about something like this but i’m just a bit, meh!
    New investment? Meh.
    Sack Ten Haag? Meh.

    Just not that bothered anymore.
Its sucked the life out of me.

Maybe Ratcliffe can instate a new football direction but, meh!

    Merry Christmas!

I think in one sense Ratcliffe is smart about this. On the commercial side of things, the Glazers have been fantastic, we generate revenue like no other club on the planet. Yes, they’ve taken a lot out but they’ve also spent a lot, in all the wrong places, in all the wrong ways. If you could mix their commercial knowledge with someone who knows football, you should have a dominant club, seriously dominant. You would hope, that’s where we’re headed. As the old saying goes, if wishes were fishes……
Merry Christmas you shower of grumpy cunts. It’s been great being grumpy alongside you for the last year. Hoping it continues

Good to see this deal finally get done. Obviously 100% would’ve been much better but it’s a step in the right direction. I am happy the club wasn’t purchased by a gulf state

Gotta wonder how quickly things will change. I think there will be an immediate, significant investment in Carrington with some cosmetic changes to OT (literally licks of paint and roof repairs)

What I’d really like to see over the next 2 windows is high earning, low return players like Varane, Casemiro, Sancho and Martial shifted at any cost

Yeah, he’s a life long United fan Scholesy, who tried to buy Chelsea a year ago and Barca before that mate.

Whoever is the captain next season it just cannot be Bruno Fernandes who is the ultimate big game bluffer, that means he must be sold because you can just imagine how he would react to losing the captaincy if he was to stay at OT.
Irrespective, he’s approaching 30 years of age and will have two years left on his deal from next season so now is the right time to get rid of him if Ineos really do want to start getting the big decisions right because despite the ridiculous overhyping of the guy by the likes of good old @happy he will NEVER be a top player that you can rely on to be 8/10 most weeks, in fact he is more like a 5/10 performer than anything else, simple as that.

Ole got the best out of Bruno, he’s been nowhere near that level since. You could probably say his best year’s are behind him now. He used to get about 10 goals and assists a season, he’s a trillion miles from that player now.
You wouldn’t be bothered of any of those players left right now bar maybe Gernacho and Mainoo who look like they have bright futures.
Let’s hope Ineos come in and back some big statements and bring about some serious change.

Agree Blacky . Ratcliffe should be ruthless. Let’s see what he is made of.

I think Brailsford will be more ruthless than Ratcliffe ever would. Hopefully they’ve used Lausanne and Nice as learning opportunities and can hit the ground running here. Young, hungry players, not soft, overpaid “superstars”

It would surprise me massively, I think Marcus’ days could be numbered except we’ll find it hard to get a buyer
