Prolific scoring off the pitch it seems. Given he is not known for his facial aesthetics, it does remind one of that famous Mrs Merton line in the interview with Debbie McGee – “so what first attracted you to millionaire Paul Daniels?”…..
June 7, 2023 at 11:21 am #2208520Sounds like he’s modelled himself on Giggsy but with half the ability!
June 7, 2023 at 11:42 am #2208529@Happy – So if Brighton’s scouts knew that Anthony was a total wanker why in fucks name didn’t ETH seeing as he’d already been working with him for 2 years at Ajax?!
I said all along that the deal made no economic or sporting sense, and I’m certain that Ten Hag has now realised that he’s probably wasted 100 million plus of the clubs money by persuading Murtough and co to sign him for such a ridiculously inflated fee. For that sort of money we should be expecting 30 goal involvements per season, and we didn’t even get 50% of that number this year.June 7, 2023 at 12:01 pm #2208540Blacky – Yeah, i don’t know mate. Perhaps part of the money is for future growth and development? I get that you need a player to perform right now when its 100m but on a 5 year deal maybe you’re also paying for potential? I also seem to remember he was Ten Haag’s priority at the start of the window but Murtough was chasing De Jong around all summer so we massively overpaid right at the end of the window for Antony. That might not be Erik’s fault…
There’s no doubt this is a huge summer for ETH and Murtough/Arnold though. Which will lead into a pivotal season in their United careers. I supposed so you could say it was relatively easy to steady the ship after Rangnick did his best to sink it. But ETH’s real work starts now and next season that team needs to be challenging on all fronts or else his days will be numbered.June 7, 2023 at 12:08 pm #2208546@Happy-If that is true then i don’t know what’s more surprising, the fact an ugly cunt like that can bang 4 birds in a night or that Ten Hag still signed him knowing he was a prick of the pitch. What’s an even bigger worry is if Ten Hag wasn’t aware of what he was getting up to. I’d take £50M for him and Sancho right now and just move on.
June 7, 2023 at 12:27 pm #2208557Started with Giggs and the Ronaldo saga, both talented players who played on the left. Now we have Greenwood and Antony, who both play on the opposite wing. Clear pattern at Utd here, our wingers are fucked in the head 😮
June 7, 2023 at 1:36 pm #2208588Antony reports sound fishy. Reckon she’s looking for a settlement
June 7, 2023 at 2:05 pm #2208603Final final bid by Sheikh until a final final final one.
So it seems ge will pay the guts of 5bn to Glazers and pay off the 1bn (969.9m) debt as well. Of course the Glazers dont give a toss re the debt – they actually want that extra 1bn as part of their exit, giving them their 6bn.
As for Sir Jims bid, this would be a shambles as we’d retain the Glazers and increase debt to absolute gargantuan proportions.June 7, 2023 at 2:22 pm #2208616N1xer – Money talks i guess mate! It’s no real surprise that kids like Greenwood, Sancho and Antony think they’re God’s gift to the world. Imagine being on that much money at that age? I’d have been an absolute fucking wanker as well!
😉June 7, 2023 at 3:03 pm #2208634@happy – No need to use past tense there mate!!🤣🤣
June 7, 2023 at 3:10 pm #2208638@moral – You would think that the Sheikh must know what the gimps bottom line is by now with the submission of this 5th bid. He has basically given them 48 hours to accept it or he’s out of the picture. Agree re Ratcliffe’s bid, seems to me he doesn’t want it badly enough, even though he’s got more than enough dough to pay whatever it takes to get those horrible bastards out once and for all.
June 7, 2023 at 3:46 pm #2208651Blacky – Ha ha, walked into that one! 🙂
June 7, 2023 at 3:50 pm #2208653😂😂😂
June 7, 2023 at 4:11 pm #2208661@Moral-Yestreday you said no one has any clue about the deal but now your saying Ratcliffe would roll £5bn of debt up in to the club? Not sure where you are getting that from mate because it would never happen. And if the Glazers stay on under the Ratcliffe deal there’ll be a set date when they’d either leave or be bought out. Those cunts hanging around in any capacity is not ideal but if it means new ownership and investment in the club then its something we’re going to have to accept in the short term.
June 9, 2023 at 9:41 pm #2209301Apparently some minority shareholders, primarily hedge funds, are looking into a legal case if Ratcliffe’s offer is accepted over Sheikh Jasseim’s as they’ll effectively get very little back on their investments. This could rumble on, and on, and on, and……
June 12, 2023 at 11:20 pm #2209873Qatari media reporting that the Sheikh has won the race to the buy the club.
June 13, 2023 at 1:12 pm #2209987Stories that the sheikh has won the bid. If he does he doesn’t stick his nose in and just lets people do their jobs. Don’t want him trying to sign muppets like Neymar.
June 13, 2023 at 1:50 pm #2210000I think he’s after Mbappe though, PSG owned by Qataris, he’s just told them he’s not signing a new contract. Fits together neatly doesn’t it?
June 13, 2023 at 2:02 pm #2210007@killyboye – that would be the dream; Mbappe is the best player on the planet in my opinion, better than Haaland.
June 13, 2023 at 2:50 pm #2210019It would be ideal for PSG too, they’d rather see him at Manchester United than Real Madrid I’m sure. Especially after the moaning and insulting Real, their media and La Liga did last summer when he renewed at PSG. They’d probably love to get one over on all three by sending him to us and Real get Harry ‘no reseale value’ Kane.
