Players back to training soon. Would be great to have deals for Mkhitaryan and Zlatan completed ahead of pre season.

Looks like that will be the case mate. Dortmund have just announced the Mkhitaryan transfer.

Great work in getting the deals done early this summer.

    Sack ’em all!

Mourinho saying he wants two more players. He says one will be signed shortly and they are working on the final one.

Looks likely that we won’t get Stones / Varane then, as it will be Mkhitaryan and a central midfielder.

Why are we getting our signings made so early this summer? Normally we bumble on for ages and huff and puff at the end of the window. Is it Mourinho, has Woodward got his act together or just blind luck or coincidence?

Looks like he won’t be here next season, but Schweinsteiger has announced his retirement from international football.

I wouldn’t be against letting Schweinsteiger go. He didn’t impress me much last season in terms of being a commanding force in the midfield so given his age and wages I don’t think he offers enough to the team.

Has this forum run out of steam?

Suddenly posters appear to have disappeared. What was once a site where good lively opinion on all things Manchester United was legion, now the response rate to new topics is as turgid as an LVG rerun. Why?
Too much trolling, the team playing too well (the moaners have lost their fuel), the format of the site (it has never been as popular as the original.
I hope the entertainment improvement on the field, which is promised, will translate into a similar improvement here.

Good question big K. It has gone off the boil a bit.

Probably a lot to do with the reasons you state.

Too much trolling, it was always going to kill off interest from new posters. Debate seems quite sterile too as many posters make things up to support their views and even if you provide evidence to the contrary and agree they were wrong, they will be back in no time saying the exact same thing again!

I don’t think the international break helps.

Hopefully someone can put a bit of life into this section as it’s a great platform for people.

I don’t understand the latest about us going after Drinkwater. If JM wants a midfielder who will sit in front of the back four to give them enough cover, there is a ready made player in Schneiderlin. Why do we need to go after Drinkwater? And 30m quid? Ridiculous.

Schneiderlin was arguably the best player against Feyenord.

    JM, we don’t need Drinkwater.

Chelsea fan in peace, i think your squad is not as bad as the Media is putting up. if given the right time i’m hopeful Pogba will come good, you can see the talent is right there. but unfortunately we live in a world were players are only judged to perform based on their price tag.

Even before he set his foot at Oldtrafford the pressure has already been on Pogba. i hate to say the British Media will ruin his career if Mourinho does not act faster and put an arm around Pogba to protect him.

You also need a younger proven goal scorer. i was surprised that Z. Ibrahimovic was let to lead the line at 35, Mourinho was better than that i don’t know why he opted that. make no mistake i’m not saying Ibrahimovic isn’t class, but at 35 can he play 3 games in a space of one week? i don’t think so but i stand to be corrected.

And lastly through out your successful era was built on pacy wingers and wingers that could cross the ball perfectly. but since Ferguson has retired, that has been one element which has been missing from your game. hopefully Mourinho will address that. if you put a run in your next few games, and i can’t see why you can’t put based on your next few games, then you will be right up there with the rest. a bit of patience costs nothing.

Fellaini has had his contract extended by a year.

Doesn’t seem to be many fans favourite, but Mourinho trusts him to do a job.

Too much foul language from several posters. This site should be encouraging youngsters and gratuitous, unnecessary bad language should result in a sin bin for the offenders.

@BigK – I understand your viewpoint but disagree there is excessive swearing. That’s to say there is no more than you may expect to find in the public bar of a pub or on the factory floor. I agree any amount of swearing could be considered excessive if youngsters are present but that raises the question, is this the public bar or the family bar?

TT gives no help on them matter saying “Behave on the Forum as you would in real life.” and like it or not swearing is a part of life, especially when passionate topics are involved.

That TT does not have a rule about swearing leads one to assume that bad language is permissable. It would be unfair to send “offenders” to a sin bin for something that is not against the rules.

If the site wants to position itself as a family site, then fair enough but if the site is to be juvenile-friendly then the downside will be a higher level of juvenile behaviour. In my experience juveniles swear a lot more than adults and the reason they do it is to cause outrage in people such as yourself.

Football stadiums have in recent years moved towards becoming family friendly and one outcome has been a marked decrease in atmosphere compared to the past.

Football is historically a working man’s game and if the current generation uses bad language, are they to blame or is it your generation?

Been linked with £26 million move for Ozil in January. That doesn’t make any sense as we’ll have Zlatan coming back to add more creativity to the team. Now a free transfer at the end of the season to replace Zlatan wouldn’t be so bad.

Btw, anybody know why this thread isn’t pinned anymore?
