I saw Xhaka do more in 45 minutes that a captain should be doing(Organising the team,Communicating) than I have seen Mertesacker or any other current player we have do in their entire careers.

I’m really excited about him,he seems like a perfect arteta replacement.Already looks accustomed to a holding midfield role which is what we needed if anything there.
However,I fear for him.I think Our club just might ruin his mentality over here and turn him into a loser like they’ve done so many players.Look at Petr cech,he was a proper leader at chelsea and use to communicate with his defense all the time.Last season at Arsenal,I literally can’t think of one moment where he’s organising or providing leadership which concludes he has changed at Arsenal.

TSO – I made no secret of how much I liked Xhaka before he came to us and I totally agree with your post. I thought he was very impressive in the Euros as well. He certainly does have a nasty streak to him and I have absolutely no issue with that. He does seem to be a fairly vocal leader on the field which is something we really do lack.
I don’t think Wenger will do it this season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Granit ends up Captain of this club from next season.

Although I very much like the addition of xhaka and as impressive as he is and he will improve our transitional play from back to front more effectively as a out and out defensive midfielder I do see him a little easy to by pass whether it’s his mobility or positional sense I don’t no and although I like his physical approach some of his attempted tackles if u can call it that(slides in front of player) I don’t no look a little bit foolish. But hopefully he will learn and pick up the pace of the premier league as he is class and looking forward to him next season and maybe a year or 2 down the line captaincy material. I have to disagree about cech as I’ve seen and heard him shouting and trying to organise the back line so think this is more lacking leaders rather then seasoned professionals losing there leadership skills e.g cech
