“The last season under Mourinho was not pleasant anymore. We didn’t win, we got into a sort of routine, training-training without having fun, it was better for all parties that the collaboration came to an end,” he told Belgian newspaper HLN.
“If I’m now asked one coach with whom I want to work again, then I say: Mourinho.” Eden Hazard.
Interesting if somewhat surprising.
October 13, 2018 at 2:12 pm #1686468Haha 9,
I think Mourinho called Eden and asked for positive review,
the conversation went something like this: Hey Eden, i’m under a lot of pressure with the media writing bad things about me everyday, i noticed they have been kind to you and have been writing and rewriting the same old boring story about you ( the best player in the premiership, Ballon D candidate, R Madrid salivating and cant wait for the summer bla bla…. they do not mention the fact that am the brain behind this – am the one who made you the player you are today, Jose, you want me to say you’re the best coach in the world… ok, i can say that
If I’m now asked one coach with whom I want to work again, then I say: Mourinho.”October 13, 2018 at 2:35 pm #1686473Zizi, 😊
October 14, 2018 at 2:07 pm #1686596Now there are mutterings of some deal involving Hazard and Bale swapping clubs assumably with some cash filling our coffers also. Geez I hope not.
October 14, 2018 at 4:54 pm #1686633Coukd be worse. An injury free Gareth Bale. Thata a frightening prospect. Problem is that he’s yet to be injury free.
October 14, 2018 at 7:39 pm #1686651Rumours eh. Chelsea won’t take a player in exchange for Hazard that they don’t want and who Sarri doesn’t feel would fit into the team.
Balague says Real’s priorities are Neymar and Mbappe and given Real have to fund 400m Euros of ground improvements I can’t see them being able to sign one or other of those plus Hazard at circa £100m plus.
If Real really want Hazard next Summer they will have to convince Chelsea to sell him which means putting the right offer on the table and even then Chelsea may think it makes more sense to keep him until 2020.
October 15, 2018 at 8:24 am #1686681I think it is abundantly clear that until Hazard signs a new contract then every interview will be about him and a potential move to Real and we will be linked with all kinds of deals as well
Personally, I take this all with a pinch of salt as I am still confident that so long as Chelsea gain CL football next year and also show further commitment on the player front then Eden will sign for Chelsea on a long term deal. KTBFFH
October 15, 2018 at 4:07 pm #1686956Either Hazard made those comments with a tongue in cheek or he was under the influence of some weed. He can’t seriously make those comments. Last season under Mourinho was a disaster because the coach didn’t get the best out of him. And Hazard cut a frustrated figure in that last season. No wonder he couldn’t score any goal in any competition until Februaray that season. The reason was the toxic environment at the club back then.
October 15, 2018 at 6:55 pm #1686993Perhaps it’s a don’t burn your bridges moment Wise Fan. Real are currently in a mess United and Mourinho might part company, Perez and Mourinho are still close. Voila! Stranger things have happrned.😊

We all know that coaches at Real Madrid has no say in the transfers and that is why Zidane quit Real Madrid this season. And after the problems that Real had with Mourinho in his time at Real Madrid, and the much publicised player and coach fallout. And on top of the uneasy relationship between Mourinho and Hazard when they were together at Chelsea. I can’t see how that move will ever be possible. Mourinho doesn’t play good football. He has no commercial value. And most of the players were there during his time. Only a handful left. Ramos and co spoke out Mourinho when he left.
October 16, 2018 at 3:21 pm #1687317Wise Fan, as I said stranger things have happened and Perez allegefly didn’t want Mourinho to leave Madrid when he left for Chelsea and they retain a good relationship.
Hazard said what he said about Mourinho for a reason he either meant it or was covering his future options or a bit of both. But he said it and we’ll probably never fully know the reasons why.
October 17, 2018 at 6:53 am #1687467Why the nashing of teeth? He’s still a chelsea player so enjoy the skills until he leaves and we sign another player of equal quality. no biggy and if he is desperate to go to Madrid, might as well bankrupt them in the process.
I doubt he’ll play for them as he does with us and moving in the late 20’s often goes totally pear shaped. either way, not going to lose sleep over a persons personal ambition and has openly stated since joining that he always wanted to play for the knobs of Madrid. His call and CFC will probably pocket more than a 100 million from having him on our books.
He leaves, everyone is a winner, if he stays, everyones a winner. Really dont care anymore about whether he stays or goes. Good luck in making your decision Mr Hazard.
October 17, 2018 at 2:50 pm #1687706Bruce Buck insists Chelsea will do everything they can to “entice” Eden Hazard to stay.
Hazard’s current deal expires in 2020 and Chelsea are ready to break the bank and offer him up to £300,000-a-week to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Blues chairman Buck said: “Every Chelsea fan in London and around the world loves Eden Hazard, and he’s not only a great footballer but I think he’s a wonderful lad.”
“We want him to stay and we’ll do what we have to do to entice him to stay.”
Good to see the Club fighting hard to keep him.
If Hazard stays at Chelsea he can become an all time legend if he goes to Real he will be just another Galatico.
October 17, 2018 at 3:51 pm #1687727Chelsea are not stupid and know and appreciate exactly what Eden brings to Chelsea and how difficult it would be to replace him. Everything you read about or from Eden says he loves Chelsea, he is happily settled in London and that he is enjoying his football again this season. Chelsea know this and so quite rightly have been working for a while now to get him to sign an improved contract
IMO, if Conte had remained in charge then I believe that Eden would have already left along with Willian and Luiz so the board is fully aware of what they are doing. Any Club who has a player of Eden’s stature, and there are not that many, who is regularly discussed amongst the top 3 players in the world will always have a cloud hanging over them about a “bigger” club coming in and trying to buy him. That is why success on the pitch plus Eden enjoying his football is so important
I am still hopeful that so long as we get a CL spot for next season and are seen to continue to invest in the squad then Eden will stay at Chelsea. KTBFFH
October 17, 2018 at 6:11 pm #1687775There are reports that state Hazard had a change of heart and intends to sign a new contract at Chelsea. I don’t know how accurate these reports are but they state the huge contract that Chelsea put forward is the game changer. And Hazard now intends to snub Real Madrid. Let us hope these reoprts are accurate.
October 17, 2018 at 10:34 pm #1687829A reminder of why we should keep him
October 18, 2018 at 7:39 am #1687853YB – the Express are running a story that states Hazard has seen the new contract – rumoured to be 300k a week – and is prepared to sign and stay at the Club. Not sure if there is any indication how long the contract will be for though
Obviously, no idea how accurate the story is but one that I do prefer to take notice off and prefer to believe than many others….!! KTBFFH
October 18, 2018 at 2:19 pm #1688057According to many papers today, that Real Madrid are keen on appointing Conte as if they sack their current coach which under pressure. And the coach is said to be given weeks to save his job. I really hope they appoint him. Because this will be the end of Hazard to Madrid story. I can’t see Hazard joining him at Madrid after frustration he has shown under him.

October 18, 2018 at 4:19 pm #1688100WF – totally agree with you. Not sure if Conte will take the role because so far Chelsea and Conte have not agreed on his severance package. Chelsea are waiting to see if he takes a job as recently they try to only pay the manager for the time we sacked him to the time he takes a new job – which will work out much cheaper for us that the original 9m quoted
But agree that cannot see Eden ever playing for Conte again so lets hope Conte takes up the very kind offer….!! KTBFFH
October 18, 2018 at 5:14 pm #1688127That yellow bellied Courtois is apparently trying to woo our Eden. As for RMs ex president…he reckons our treatment of him is akin to modern day slavery. Reckon that man is off his head. Wonder if he knows what slavery actually is? Doos.
We’ve got the world’s current best player until the summer. He may sign a new deal but if I’m honest I’d say that’s just to protect his valuation when we do sell him.
RDM…with respect bru when he leaves…it won’t be easy to replace Eden with someone who’s even close to his talent, influence, skill and level headedness. Nigh on impossible I reckon.
