Bilic was hardly “a complete novice of managing a top-flight club” unless you count managing Croatia, Locomotiv Moscow (1st/2nd biggest in Russia) and Besiktas (1st/2nd in Turkey) in the Champions League as inexperienced. I admire the work he has done though, nobody cannot argue with that. Payet has been the primary reason for the success, he has won more points than any other player in the league unfortunately with questionable antics. If he removed this from his game and didn’t disappear in many games as he has this season he would be one of the best in the league. Reportedly he is on £115k to keep him at the club but you’ve got to pay to get those to stay. Noble should be with the England squad though, it is a travesty he isn’t. A centre midfield of Noble/Dier would be fantastic.

The stadium acquisition is well documented as being dodgy, I’m glad we only wanted it as a temporary solution but to be honest I’ll genuinely be disappointed to see the Boleyn gone. The Olympic Stadium doesn’t have any character whereas the Boleyn always did, loved sitting in the away stand, enjoying the banter and the jeering from the station. All part of the atmosphere which will be sadly lost.

But ‘quiet’ is not a word to associate West Ham with, the owners shouting any achievement and fans are the mouthiest in the league. Plaudits have been well earned this season.
