A few weeks ago the Newcastle result would have hurt… but now it’s just numbness. It was expected – predicted it days ago. I can predict the Liverpool game from now: 0-3 loss. Why? Because we are rubbish – top to bottom.

I read that the players flew to Newcastle for the match… FLEW. It’s a 2.5 hour drive and they spent probably around 4 hours total travelling when it would have been faster, cheaper and would’ve wasted less energy to drive there. This is what I’m talking about – stupidity top to bottom at the club. Everything the club decides to do is trickled with stupidity and devoid of logic, from coaching to scouting to the direction of the football to the stadium to logistics… absolutely everything – a farce.

I’d give anything for the Glazers and Woodward to go… anything. If you offered me 5 years in the Championship if it meant they leave I’d bite your hand off for it right now because there is absolutely no hope while they’re here running the show.

I want to stop caring but I can’t… and it’s killing my happiness. This club has honestly depressed me.

Strangely enough I can see us winning at Anfield. One poster predicted a helter skelter season, I agree.

The flight is a good example of a culture problem at the club. Treated like royalty, like superstars without earning it. It makes players think they are better than they actually are and all they need to do is turn up to get the result.

The culture needs to change, it needs the Keano attitude and passion for the game not for the celebrity lifestyle.

I’d love for Ole to give Keano, Neville a role at the club instead of quiet man Carrick and yes man Phelan. It needs fire, it needs hairdryers, it needs boots being kicked in their faces.

And it needs some proper coaching cos it’s clearly not getting any at the moment given these shambolic performances!!! I’m all for giving Ole a couple of years to see what type of players he’s going to bring in but if the football doesn’t improve he has to go. The players may not be the best but there are worse teams in the PL playing better football than this lot.

I think the club are going to give Ole some time but if a top coach, who’d play our kind of football becomes available then I think they’ll push Ole. The fact that Allegri is available and we haven’t knocked on his door says volumes. He doesn’t play our kind of football so they’ll let him go his own way.
Interestingly, I think if Zidane was pushed out at Real, I think Ole might be pushed, even if it would be a terrible decision. There’s question marks over Zidane at Real but at the same time, they’re top of the league, unbeaten, and showed determination to come back from 2-0 down in Genk last week. Honestly I don’t know who’d we’d actually get who could fix the current situation. I’m wondering if they’ll let Ole take all the pain, fix the squad and start the rebuild and when it looks as if the good times are about to roll again, they’ll fire him and get in a ‘better manager’. In that sense I think Ole might be a patsy, he’ll play the right tune on the club fiddle and when the time comes for blame to be apportioned, he’ll get all the blame and the board will come out clean as whistles again

Ole shouldnt have been appointed in the 1st place, simples. But the club needs a massive rebuild,we keep saying this year after year. You cannot have the likes of Jones,Young,Rojo,Matic,Mata, @ your club and expect to compete.Add to that the likes of Rashford,JL,Martial and Pogba, players who dont give a fuck about anything or anyone, and you have a disaster. Why give DDG a new contract, when he has been here for close to 9 years and only seem to care about money? How long does it take for these fuckwits to realise that Shaw is a fucking waste of space? Makes you throw up having to put up with Young,Mata,Matic playing for our club, still. Why do we pay huge amounts of money for other teams rejects, like Mata and Matic? Why do we pay £80m for an extremely overrated player instead of £72m for De Ligt? Why wasnt fucking Instagramvirus sold in the summer, when he clearly wanted out?

Were Real at home? Fair enough, sorry about that. You’d argue they shouldn’t have gone 2-0 down but they still managed to come back. Their squad is much stronger than ours though, I still couldn’t see ours coming back from 2-0 down against anyone, we don’t have the mentality.

@macguffin – you honestly see us, the team that hasn’t won in 11 away matches and have lost to Newcastle and West ham away recently and haven’t scored more than 1 goal in a game since Chelsea, to beat Liverpool away from home where they are on a 17 match winning run and are arguably the best team in world football at the moment? Good on you for the positivity but I’d honestly bet my car on us not coming out on top in that match. In fact I see us losing something like 3-0 with another total shit-show from the players and Ole possibly getting sacked.

Yeah there’s no way we will get anything out of the Liverpool game. They’re light years ahead of us.
Ole needs Martial, Shaw and Pogba back ASAP. Not because they are great players but because it gets Ashley Young, Fred and Pereira the fuck away from the first team!

Thought we were at home against the scousers.

For some reason I’m more positive about a result against them lot than I am against Newcastle. Mainly because we’re at home, the players will be more up for it, the fans will be too, and we’ll hopefully have players like Pogba, Martial and AWB back. Plus Liverpool won’t be camped on the edge of their own box.

Still think we’ll lose because they’re miles better in every department, but you never know.

Just watched a Sky interview with Luis Campos, DoF at Lille and formerly at Monaco for those who don’t know him. Says he’s happy at Lille and would only leave for something special. Well let’s hope Wudturd watched it, because he’s the man.

We are playing home against Liverpool, but regardless I too expect a drubbing, even if they might be without Salah.Pogba will most probably miss that game, lardie ass & the miserable French ass will no doubt be not match fit.

@Sympathy – I’m not saying I see us beating Liverpool just that it would not surprise me. In recent seasons we have performed reasonably well against top teams, its the number of times we slip up to relegaton fodder that hurts us. Chelsea 4-0 and Arsenal 1-1 being examples. Our last away victory was against PSG!!!

I get the feeling that just as small clubs raise their game against us, we raise our game against better opposition. And its as if players think playing against small clubs is beneath them and onlly turn up against teams they consider their equals.

Bugger it you pushed me, I’ll be predicting a win on matchday while that beacon of negativity happyhurling predicts a home defeat !!!

    #1789895

@macguffin – haha well we do need to have SOME sort of positivity on these pages! I thought we were away so being home yes MAYBE we can but to be honest I’m not holding my breath, the players look shot before the seasons even moved into a stride.

I think it’s irrelevant how much we raise our game against the Scousers. On current evidence, we’re not within an asses roar of them, on our best day we’re not even close to them. The only position where we come close is ‘keeper and right back. Look at the starting XI for each team if everyone’s fit and based on recent selection

    DDG – Alisson
    AWB – TAA
    Maguire – Van Dijk
    Lindelof – Matip
    Shaw – Robertson
    Pereira/Lingard – Wijnaldum
    McTomminay/Matic – Fabinho/Keita
    Pogba – Milner/Henderson
    James – Mane
    Rashford – Firmino
    Martial – Salah

You could argue that Pogba in midfield is superior player, and in terms of ability he is, but in terms of consistent top level performances he’s not even close

It’s easy looking on and saying this team is poor. What’s harder is focusing on the actual current problem. It’s not who we ‘have’ available on the pitch and managing the team. That is clearly not the problem. It’s who we don’t have. Ole has overseen 3 great additions. He’s not the problem. We still need more players but they have to be as good as the 3 purchases. Herrera, Fellaini, Lukaku and Sanchez are not yet replaced. We should have signed at least 1 CM and 1 striker in the summer. It’s a real shame but we’re undergoing a HUGE transition period. Patience is needed, lots of it.

We’re all agreed Ole isn’t the problem, he possibly is a problem but he’s not the problem. We’ve had a board overseeing a period of transition for 6 years now, the board is clearly the problem.

Ole was a great appointment at the time to lift the mood post Mourinho but at no point was he qualified to take the reigns full time. Sentiment got the better of the board after his honeymoon period but since then it’s all gone belly up. Had they waited I’m sure they would have taken the dramatic loss of form after the PSG game into account and realized that Ole was not the right man and the players nowhere near good enough.

Building a young team looks great on paper but the lack of quality and leadership around them means that any promising youngster will ultimately fail to make the grade.

As much as I like Ole, I don’t see him turning this around – especially not with these players and definitely not with Woodward and the Glazers in charge. The players we need will NOT be available in January and even if they eventually become available there’s no way that they’ll want to join this shit show. Some posters were frothing at the mouth when I suggested we could sink as low as 8th place…well, at the moment anything above 18th will almost feel like an achievement.
