AMZ – I would argue that we got Palace on a bad day and for once – took full advantage. WBA were there for the taking and they were very poor but as 999 stated, 14 shots and only 2 on target show that this time we did not take our chances
That’s not fickle; more frustrated
There are certainly glimpses of green shoots under Hiddink that we did not see while Jose was here. Especially when we do take the lead the confidence can be clearly seen and we express ourselves much better on the pitch and move the ball around confidently. Still that final pass is sometimes missing and we do not get enough shots on target
And yet when we concede that confidence evaporates and why did we drop so deep on Wednesday when our defence has been poor all season..? We should play to our strengths which is going forward even if we do not get the shots on target.
I still believe a decent run is not out of the question and seeing as all teams continue to drop points the top four is achievable even if it is not realistic. FAC and CL are our best chances but on current form PSG should have enough about them to see us off. KTBFFH
Yeh I appreciate a lot of comments are born out of frustration but at the end of the day – this is football and anything can happen, which is why we love the game. While we are sobbing over this seasons credentials lets not forget we have an owner who puts the club first and we are in great hands.
Onwards and upwards, if not this season, then next!
The substitutions which GH made showed that trying to defend a one goal lead is beyond the capability of our present team. The way out is to ensure that we continue to be in offensive mode once we are ahead, try to score a second goal to give us two goal cushion. This is achievable by maintaining like for like substitutions. Loftus-Cheek should have replaced Oscar and Matic for Mikel. Fabregas should have stayed on because he has got the ability of pinning long range passes to Costa. I am convinced that we would have won the game. The next issue that needs urgent resolution is the signing of an additional striker. I am not convinced about Pato. Recall that he suffered a very serious long term injury at AC Milan a few years ago. We do not need another ‘sick note’ in the squad. Rather let us go for Bacca of AC Milan.
no need for me to post too much as my job was done but Hiddink better get his game into gear very quickly or else I will get rid of him as well.
