Couple of rumours doing the rounds at the minute that the Saudi’s are looking to buy us for serious money. Probably pocket money to them but the sort that would buy out the Glazers. It’s probably bollocks, but if it wasn’t what do we reckon?
A) Better off with the Glazers warts and all than being the PR puppet of a human rights abusing oil nation?
Or B) fuck it, if they spend the money needed to get us back winning the league and in European Cup Finals then so be it? Who needs morals anyway when you’re scoring six goals every week and playing the way that United should?
This is an either or question, there are no other options for the purposes of this debate.
I’m A) and considerably better ethically than all the city fans, the stupid blue tits.
October 15, 2018 at 9:54 am #1686734We make enough money to compete, just need somebody to structure everything. From youth upwards, like Fergie did when he came in.
October 15, 2018 at 9:58 am #1686738There was no option C “the Glazers start to invest the billions made rather than taking billions out.”
So…to the debate young man. Saudi’s or the Glazers as they are?
October 15, 2018 at 10:03 am #1686742The Glazers will continue to take billions out and leave the club up to it’s eyeballs in debt. For the sake of the club we’re probably better off with the Saudis. Ethnically no but for the long term future of the club then I’d go with option B
October 15, 2018 at 10:06 am #1686744I was so close to saying B but then remembered how much shit I’ve given every single shameless city fan I know for it. So i’ll Have to be A and on my high horse.
October 15, 2018 at 10:19 am #1686751Rumours are Peter Lim is also interested in buying out the club but Singapore’s human rights record isn’t anything to brag about either so you’ll still be on horse A
October 15, 2018 at 10:23 am #1686756Peter Lim who owns Valencia? Fuck the Saudi cunts, rapists, paedos, journalist murdering scumbags, killing thousands in Yemen,Iraq,Syria.
October 15, 2018 at 10:25 am #1686759Does he have that sort of cash though? Four billion and then maybe as many more billions to throw at it?
He’s an individual rather than the owner of a country so I could easily sit on Peter Lim’s high horse and still slag off the shameless blue tits.
October 15, 2018 at 10:27 am #1686760Yes, the very same Peter Lim.
Singapore – public gatherings restricted, LGBT rights severely restricted, some foreign workers essentially indentured slaves. Reads like the Saudi human rights watch report in places.October 15, 2018 at 10:27 am #1686762Stop sitting on the fence redblood.
Are you still after tickets by the way? I’ve been offered two in the Chelsea end (not with the riff raff though) for Saturday if you wanted them?
October 15, 2018 at 10:34 am #1686771Apparently his PERSONAL wealth is around 2.8bn, but no doubt he’s got more billions linked in to his companies that he can use, and that’s according to Wikipedia which isn’t the most accurate. Would he look to sell Valencia if he bought us? That could raise more capital and he’d likely make a profit there as they’re back in the CL at the moment.
October 15, 2018 at 10:40 am #1686773Sorry Peter Lim isn’t rich enough for this card school. We’re talking about somebody or some country who could buy us outright and not even flinch. Like Qatar and Abu Dhabi have with city and PSG.
October 15, 2018 at 10:46 am #1686784Always on the fence uncle Tommy.Yes mate, always looking for tickets, but sorted for the Chelsea game.
October 15, 2018 at 10:47 am #1686787Didnt he try once to buy Liverpool???
October 15, 2018 at 11:22 am #1686807Redblood – Sitting on the fence, got any pics?
October 15, 2018 at 11:26 am #1686812Its somewhat unfair to limit the options. Its makes it pointless, like asking if if you’d rather have boiled or fried shit for breakfast. Only recently in another topic you said its pointless discussing media speculation yet here you post a topic based on “rumours”.
But to play along I’d go with B, the Saudis.
1] Given the choice between something I know for fact is bad and something that is highly likely bad, I’ll take the latter because it a small chance is better than no chance.
2] The entire system of owners buying football clubs for personal profit is inherently against the spirit and purpose of sport. IF the Saudis did as the rumour suggests there is a hope it may make the football authorities rethink the whole concept of capitalism in sport and change the system.
3] As somebody who lived in Saudi, I know more than most about their human rights. [I was held almost hostage there]. Many owners are not fit and proper. Many western businessmen & politicians are accompices in those abuses. Ethical reasons would prevent most billionaires. The Glazers support Israel human rights abuses. The Chinese ain’t human rights angels either.
Tommy would give City fans shit if Mother Teresa bought the club because giving shit is the nature of the beast.!
October 15, 2018 at 11:35 am #1686822Happy-For Gods sake m8,dont get mufc started,hahahahaha!
October 15, 2018 at 11:38 am #1686823Uncle Tommy-There should be the option C which relates to option A.We make enough money to compete with anyone.
October 15, 2018 at 11:41 am #1686827like asking if if you’d rather have boiled or fried shit for breakfast. Hahahahaha!
October 15, 2018 at 11:42 am #1686828Mac-The Glazers support Israel in everything- because they are Jewish!
