Hope this is true and we can put an end to all the speculation.September 13, 2019 at 3:02 pm #1782461
This guy might have some inside info? Would love to believe it Lucky but it’s not on the Club site and until it is I don’t think we should get too excited.September 13, 2019 at 3:06 pm #1782464
Not the only report nine, and I cant help but get excited can I? 🙂September 13, 2019 at 3:12 pm #1782466
Looking back over last 3 days it was widely reported Callum was close to signing 5 year deal on 180k/week. I am hoping that it has been signed and will be announced soon, as of course we all would be.
I cant believe he wouldnt sign for that amount though. He’ll have the money, he’ll have the minutes, he’ll be playing for his home club that he has been at since an 8yr old and playing in the champs league, alongside his long time team mates ruben, mount, tomori, tammy etc.. There are only bad reasons for not signing imo because the grass surely can not be greener for him elsewhere all things considered.September 13, 2019 at 3:38 pm #1782474
Lucky, there’s been too many false dawns re CHO imo.
The Club have officially announced the Gilmour extension if CHO had signed at the same time you would have thought they would have announced that too.
Let’s hope there’s no smoke without fire and that something official gets announced next week it’s been too long.
But it’s been rumoured so many times now for so long by so many inc reputable journos like Simon Johnson forgive me although I want to believe it I’m holding back until I actually read it on the Club site.😊
According to Kinsella who is usually a good source in your article above the contracts not signed yet.
Hopefully it’s coming though.
And then we move on to is an 18 year old with a handful of appearances really worth £180k per week let’s hope so but he’ll have to prove it on the pitch week in week out despite his obvious talent and the media rightly or wrongly will be gunning for him on that money!September 13, 2019 at 4:08 pm #1782478
To be honest Nine, as keen as I am that he signs, I am a bit worried about the level of wages we look to have conceded to him, considering the wages of more experienced players and especially some of our other younger players. I would say if he rejected this and asked for more the rational thing to do is let him go the club is doing everything it can without a doubt. btw, Sancho is a chelsea fan dont you know 😉 There are alternatives and there will be cash available.September 13, 2019 at 6:06 pm #1782495
Me too Lucky and if I was Mason Mounts Agent and Reece James Agent etc etc I would be looking for some kind of parity.
But the £180k pw is just rumours and I’m hoping it’s some way short of that and bonuses come into too. Though we’ll never know for sure.
But we’re just fans and we have to trust the Club to do what’s best for the Club overall and if we wanted to sign Sancho just as an example to replace CHO if we lost him it would probably cost us circa £100m plus big wages so it’s a balancing act for the Club.
But the lad is going to have to live up to that sort of salary with the media and he’s getting over a tricky injury given that pace is one of his major assets.
I just want it over now and for him to get fit and commit himself to Chelsea and hopefully continue to progress to justify whatever we are paying him.
As you said earlier given everything there surely can’t be any obstacles in the way to him signing now. Cheers 999September 16, 2019 at 5:45 pm #1783293
Slightly off thread but to save a new thread Willian would like to sign a new contract!
“From my side, I want to stay,” Willian told Standard Sport. “I have one year left and I want to stay because I like to play for Chelsea. I love this club, I love to live in London and my family loves it here. I have been here six years already so everything is perfect for me.
“Of course [there is more I want to do at Chelsea], win the Champions League! I want to win more titles here, I want to play more games, to score more goals so everything that I can do, I will try hard to do.”September 16, 2019 at 11:21 pm #1783350
50 something goals in over 300 appearances needs to be improved on but he is a handy squad player these days and can still do a job as he showed at Wolves 🙂September 17, 2019 at 6:44 am #1783369
The perfect summary 67.
Give him another year imo.September 17, 2019 at 10:26 am #1783448
I hear Willian is desperate for a new Chelsea contract, and why wouldn’t he? he is earning more than £100k without contributing significantly. the club is right to wary about giving him a new contract. after six years at the club, and is in the wrong side of 30s, and not many inspiring performances and no end product. which club would rush to give a contract to such player? and by the way the spot he is taking in the squad could have gone to someone more productive. the club is right to wait and see what might happen. but for now i don’t think it’s wise to rush into giving him a new deal.
Besides that some are preaching that he has played good against Wolves. can you name one moment in which he has made a significant contribution in that game? the answer is no! and then again can remind me when was the last time he has taken a game on his own? again i don’t seem to remember. Chelsea as whole has played excellent against Wolves. you can’t mention that many bad players apart from moments of lapse in concentration.September 17, 2019 at 11:02 am #1783463
I find Willian does well against your weaker teams only. I have nothing against him but feel when all these younger highly talented players are all fit plus Pulsic and Pedro his place will be in danger and his not going to like that remember in Contes time he wanted to leave same as Luiz.September 17, 2019 at 11:48 am #1783487
I’ll leave it to you 999. Some on here just want to disagree for the sake of an argument and again the arrogance flows like crap through a sewer “the answer is no”. Mate get off of the high horse you are permanently on ffs. Last I knew football was a team game and everyone is expected to contribute one way or another. I stated clearly in my post on the match day thread what his highlighted contribution (many times) was against Wolves and I am not going to waste my time repeating it.
Fair call Blueowner however his contribution against Wolves was the focal point and that is an away day which is never easy normally nor are Wolves at home a weaker team unless comparing them to the top two or three. He put in and went alright 🙂September 17, 2019 at 12:01 pm #1783494
Do you have any other thing to post other telling people that i’m wrong, i’m bad?September 17, 2019 at 12:20 pm #1783504
Go to the match day thread re Wolves and read what I said and deny it on there. You are an arrogant so and so and the tone of every one of your posts comes across that way and your barbs are always directed at something I have said. You never learn. Enough said. I’ll leave it to 999 to nurture you for the umteenth time.September 17, 2019 at 12:40 pm #1783512
Can we get back to the thread Callum contract, anyone heard an update, this is really needling me now about time it was yes or no, hopefully yes but if no stop all the hype and stuff himSeptember 17, 2019 at 1:57 pm #1783544
I would love to know what exactly this holdup is re him signing a new contract, doesn’t smell good. What more do him and his agent wantSeptember 17, 2019 at 1:58 pm #1783545
Dev Wolves are not strong this year. Hope they improve cause I always kind of liked them.September 17, 2019 at 2:05 pm #1783547
Wise fan, you really do have the ability to start an argument in an empty phone box.
If you can’t post sensibly without causing problems then don’t post at all.
I really don’t want to see posters getting banned but if it is for the overall betterment of the site I wouldn’t rule it out.
Just remember you are already on a yellow card from the Ed and I don’t want to have to keep pulling you up on these things and I won’t carry on doing so for ever.September 17, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1783549
Dev apologies my fault for putting the Willian news on this thread for ease.
You’re right let’s get back to Hudson Odoi and him signing the contract there were indications last week that it was about to happen imminently but we’ve been there before?
I was thinking maybe after the CL game, if not after CHO is back starting again regularly if it doesn’t happen then then it’s not looking good.
Here’s hoping. Cheers 999
