Shame! Feel for the lad.
April 24, 2019 at 3:29 am #1745089a six month injury may ward off suitors in the summer. Let’s hope so.
April 24, 2019 at 8:18 am #1745111Injuries happen and from what I saw it was down to his own lack of control. However, you obviously hope that he recovers and I read today he is already targeting the start of next season…?
Agreed that the injury is very likely to put teams off coming in for him until they can see how well he recovers and allows Chelsea time to sit down and discuss his future and provide a contract to meet his requirements
Bit warped but potentially the injury has done us a big favour. KTBFFH
April 24, 2019 at 2:23 pm #1745254April 24, 2019 at 2:27 pm #1745258Suggestions of Hudson Odoi recieving all the treatment from Chelsea and then signing a pre contract agreement with another Club in January is wide of the mark as it falls outside the pre contract rules.
“With six months or less remaining on an existing contract for players aged 23 or older, they are free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement, indicating their ability to move to their intended club on a Bosman transfer when the next transfer window opens.”
April 24, 2019 at 3:41 pm #1745272Ive heard the average Achilles Rupture recovery is 219 days.
When CHO returns, Chelsea will want to loan him like Zouma to regain match sharpness. For this reason I think CHO will not sign a new deal and will leave on free the following summer.
April 24, 2019 at 10:29 pm #1745433CHO’s advisers should be telling him to sign a new 5 year contract asap as it is a big risk to let his existing contract run down in the belief that after his injury he will be able to get back to the level he has shown and still be wanted by the likes of Bayern.
April 25, 2019 at 7:56 am #1745493GIB – very valid point and in the end a contract can be meaningless if Bayern see his is fully recovered and come back in for him. The Club is standing by him so he could at least do the same…? KTBFFH
April 26, 2019 at 6:10 pm #1746009May 11, 2019 at 1:34 pm #1750837“On Saturday, Bild are reporting Bayern Munich interest in Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is still very strong despite his Achilles tendon injury.
However, they want their club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt to give an assessment of the injury and its healing process. If the doctor gives Hudson-Odoi’s recovery the ok, then Bayern will proceed with their transfer efforts.”
Bayern are seriously taking the p***!
May 11, 2019 at 1:55 pm #17508429 didnt we do the same in effect with Barkley?!
May 11, 2019 at 6:22 pm #1750895Gib. only after both Club’s had agreed a fee and Everton had given us permission to speak to Barkley. I’m not sure that’s happened with Hudson Odoi in fact the reverse the Club have said they aren’t interested in letting him leave last season of his contract or not.
May 11, 2019 at 8:31 pm #1750906CFC1905 …loyalty in football?,we standing by Hudson Odoi in his hour of need treating him back to full recovery
thinking he’ll stand by us seeing that we’ll have to serve a transfer embargo for two windows…yeah right,I won’t be holding my breath waiting for that.Of course I don’t wish the lad any ill-will I was resigned to losing him to Bayern,he seemed pretty determined that’s where he wanted to go at the season end so I would’ve wished him well with…best of luckMay 11, 2019 at 9:38 pm #1750910He looks a wonderful talent, it’s a really big blow for him because it means whatever plans he had have had to be shelved. Bayern are the sort of club that will sign someone with talent. Pulisic could perform above our expectations and Hudson Odoi struggles to recapture form etc etc etc.
The only thing he can do is get a full recovery behind him and let his football do the talking when he is fully fit.
If they say a week is a long time in politics, Lord only knows what they say about a six to eight month window. It’s a serious injury and during his recovery he might get others that delay his return to the side.
Get well soon chap… we’ll see him in the blue again fairly quickly I hope. He just needs to look at how the nearly always injured Barkley at Everton has fared this season after his rehab with cfc’s doctors. Chelsea will get him back to full fitness and then he may or may not have a decision to make in six or twelve months time.
I wish him well in his recovery.
May 15, 2019 at 1:32 pm #1752154“Callum Hudson-Odoi is increasingly considering pledging his long-term future to Chelsea though reportedly wants assurances that he will be the man tasked with replacing Eden Hazard. The Belgian is expected to move to Real Madrid after the Europa League final in a £100million deal, with Zinedine Zidane having made the winger his top target this summer. There has been speculation that Chelsea will move for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho to replace him, but Goal.com report that Hudson-Odoi wants to be given the chance to take on the mantle. Hudson-Odoi is hoping to be back for the new Premier League season after surgery (Picture: Getty) The teenager rather infamously started a competitive international for England before making his full Premier League debut with Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri reluctant to integrate him into the starting XI. He was the subject of four bids from Bayern Munich and had been keen to move abroad having seen compatriot Jadon Sancho thrive at Dortmund.”
Let him have it plus a big new contract! A frontline of CHO, Tammy, and Pulisic sounds pretty exciting to me.
June 5, 2019 at 8:43 am #1756884June 5, 2019 at 8:50 am #175689267, numerous sources saying the same which is very positive be great to get it confirmed as a done deal by the Club asap.
June 5, 2019 at 11:19 am #1756978Looks like agreement has been reached and CHO just days away from signing a new 5 year deal to stay at Chelsea. Well played by the board again. KTBFFH
June 5, 2019 at 5:40 pm #1757116Dunno if its well played board 1905.
The board should have never allowed a top talent to get to a season left on his contract where a big club almost pinched him.
June 5, 2019 at 5:44 pm #1757117Oh 1905 and his blue tinted glasses. I admire your loyalty fables or not.
