    Frank’s full comment on CHO.

Lampard was then asked about the ongoing contract negotiations between the club and Hudson-Odoi, following newspaper reports last week that a deal was imminent.
‘If he had agreed then that would mean he had signed and we’re not quite there yet but it’s very clear that the club are working towards that. I think talks have moved on very well in the last week or two, hence why the headlines came out, but it’s not done yet.

‘The one thing that’s clear for me is I know I want to keep him here and the club wants to keep him because he’s a player we cherish. He’s come through our Academy, he’s the present and the future of this club so we’re doing everything we can to get there.’

I hope that CHO and Willian sign this week. No need to have this rumour linger for too long. If CHO does not want to stay, I think we should let him leave. We already offer him a very generous term for a 18 years old

Starting to smell a rat now…how come no announcement if Hudson Odoi has signed or not?.Starting to think the player is stalling just to keep his options open for as long as possible!.I mean he has not appeared in front of a camera to show Chelsea fans he’s grinning from ear to ear happy as a dog with two dicks that he’s secured a bumper deal with the childhood club of his dreams!.If Callum Odoi is still umming and arring Chelsea need to wake up and smell the coffee that the player doesn’t want to be here and should duely rip ip the present offer on the table and effectively look to sell him.Sod it…no more being toyed with and strung along,we are Chelsea,no player is bigger than the club!

How quickly some of us rush to condemn players when the contract situation drags on? you would think a player can only sign a contract when they are put in front of them. and I was also reading from somewhere in the press this week that, the deal had all but agreed and only waiting for the legality. how is that CHO’s fault? when it’s the club’s lawyers job to iron out the formality of the deal. keep calm and trust the boy. if he said he will sign until then every other thing is just a pure rumour.

As per 67’s post above Frank couldn’t have been clearer.

“If he had agreed then that would mean he had signed and we’re not quite there yet but it’s very clear that the club are working towards that. I think talks have moved on very well in the last week or two, hence why the headlines came out, but it’s not done yet.

Hudson Odoi will either sign or he won’t sign. Hopefully it will get sorted out one way or the other soon.

The Club couldn’t have made it any more obvious as to how much they want him at the Club. But as Mtal rightly says nobody is bigger than the Club.

999…yes,Frank and the club have made it clear in no uncertain terms that they want the player to stay and have offered an allegedly much improved terms and inducements to his current contract to get get him to commit for longer, but yet the player still hasn’t signed…is Hudson Odoi angling for more?,or is he steadfastly sticking to his guns that he wants out and will bide his time when he’ll walk out on a free next year where he can dictate the price for his services somewhere else of his choice as there’s no transfer fee involved.I think we’ve indulged Callum Odoi enough, yes, the player has vast potential, but equally it’s still touch and go if that potential will be materialised similar to what we were saying about a young Macreachran. Why are we still pandering and fawning to Callum?…surely plenty more fish in the sea!

Read into this what you want. Finding the sour face a little offputting to be honest. The 19/20 CFC suggests he is seeing out this season with the club for mine, possibly against his desire. No blue heart there either. Might be wrong though but that was the initial impression I got..

Interestingly noted that Trevoh Chabolah commented for him to sign it in one of the replies near the top.

We should not let any player or agent mess the club around like this, this invariably has a knockon effect with other player’s or their representatives trying similar tactics for more money. It’s actually a disgrace the way this matter is playing out.

I’m reaching the point now where I don’t really give a rats arse if he signs or not. Shame really, even if he does eventually sign a new deal this isn’t exactly endearing him to the Chelsea faithful.

I obviously want Hudson Odoi to stay but I agree lads Marina has to take control of this situation and get it done or move him on.

A Hudson Odoi 100% commited to the Club is a major asset a less than a 1000% commited Hudson Odoi to the Club isn’t and it sets a dangerous precedent.

Needs to be sorted one way or the other before 8/08!

a Hudson Odoi 1,000% committed would be right up there with the best in my opinion 999 but I would find 100% acceptable enough. I mean the likes of Terry and Lampard are 1,000 per centers and they are few and far between and we were lucky enough to have two in the same squad 🙂

Big article on the Pride of London site written by Travis Tyler if anyone is interested in reading it, the below are just the last couple of paragraphs
but they provide the perfect summary.

Very difficult to disagree with what Travis says or to comprehend what is preventing Hudson Odoi signing the contract on offer now.

Been going on far too long imo and there are no excuses for not signing it now sad to say either commit to the Club who raised you Callum or move on.

“Hudson-Odoi is still injured but he surely would be central to Lampard’s plans (he said that in fact). Hudson-Odoi also has a contract on the table, as he has for months. It started as a simple pay increase, but has since delayed and devolved into a massive wage hike that would put Hudson-Odoi towards the top of the wage bill. Demands for the 10 shirt vacated by Eden Hazard also seem to be central to negotiations.

It is worth mentioning that, at almost every pivot on the negotiation of the new contract, Bayern Munich has been there. They want the young Englishman despite his injury (and the natural uncertainty it creates on his future) and they have been offering, reportedly, up to 40 million euros.

Which comes back to the current situation Chelsea finds itself in. The transfer window closes in less than a month. Hudson-Odoi’s contract ends in a year, half of which he may still be on the sideline or looking for fitness. He can afford to wait six months before becoming a free agent if January rolls around and he has not extended.”

The contract Chelsea has offered is more than reasonable. Hudson-Odoi would become one of the highest paid players on the team. He would surely be given the number 10 shirt since that seems to matter to him. And he would have a manager that has not just talked the talk about playing young players, but has walked it.

So if Chelsea wants to make any sort of transfer fee off of Hudson-Odoi, now is the only time they have available. The contract is burning a hole through the table and there is really no more reason why it has not been signed. Chelsea cannot afford to lose Hudson-Odoi for free so if that contract is not signed soon, which will not be soon enough, then he can quite happily be shown the way to Germany provided Bayern pay a fair price (which they seem more than willing to do).

Lampard does not want passengers. He wants Chelsea players that want to be Chelsea players. Unless Hudson-Odoi extends, he is showing he does not want to remain in blue. The terms are fair and they have been present for long enough. No player is bigger than the club and Hudson-Odoi needs to show which club it is he wants to be at. He either signs the contract now or he should be sent to a club where he wants to actually be at, provided Chelsea gets their fair transfer fee out of the ordeal.

It’s very disappointing to see that CHO hasn’t decided yet whether to sign or not. I think the interest from Bayern has turned his head. Hopefully he will sign somewhere soon, but if not it won’t be a big deal. No player is bigger than the club, as everybody says !

999…the player’s attitude alone makes me want to grab Bayern’s 40m€ now and jettison Odoi out the club and be well shot of him,him and his agent have peed fart and stuff about enough knowing that Odoi is sitting pretty with so much options at his disposal.Let’s say the player did relent and signs,he’s plainly made it abundantly clear that he DOESN’T hold the club dear to his heart at all!.PLUS,there are no guarantees that he’ll hit the ground running when he returns from injury where he’ll be on megabucks for 5 years (that the club can more than afford the outlay is beside the point).Listening to Mourinho talking on SkySports this morning about Lampards prospects as a coach at Chelsea and the club not exactly barren of hungry young players including some of the 40 player we have floating around the loan system and the transfer ban can be turned to our advantage,Jose has said we are not short on talent we can bring in.Jose even went out of his way to speak very highly of a couple of players namely Abrahams and Zouma…not once did he mention Hudson-Odoi and Callum is supposed to be the next best thing since slice bread if the fuss the club was making of him is to be believed. We all know Jose wears his heart on his sleeve and is as straight as a arrow,Jose summed up our situation perfectly,by not mentioning our so-called priced possession Jose knows something…the player’s carried away with his own hype, his potential has not yet been realised and he’ll be a bag of trouble to us!.

Marina should call in Callum and put an ultimatum to him either sign in the next forty eight hours or the contract is off the table and we sell then advertise to the football world that he is for sale to the highest bidder and try and get overs for him. The club have been way too patient with him. Time well and truly to force his hand. Frank needs to finalise the squad and I can see no reason to keep the kid on for one season and forego huge sums of money. With or without CHO we are likely to get Europa at best for the following season and certainly won’t win the title so there should be only two options here, sign an upgraded contract or go and build up the kitty further for the next summer transfer window.

Agree with Mtal although like 67 I would give CHO 48 hours to sign or go it’s been going on long enough now. Frank needs players 100% commited to Chelsea.

and we don’t want a squad number taken up by a player that does not want to commit either. That could be someone else’s number. Let him battle with the likes of Gnabry and Coman for one of two wing spots. Both are better and more mature than him right now anyway. Here if he plays up to his ability he’s a mailed down starter in the position he prefers. Silly boy and it may well backfire on him.
