Tricky game after two very disappointing results.

There will be changes but I still expect a strong Chelsea team we need to win this one to not only progress in the FA Cup but to quell the doubters particularly in the media.

Be interesting to see who starts…especially upfront. Abraham will be rested so I’m guessing its Bats. Wally in goal, Alonso at LB, Zouna at CB, Barkley in midfield, maybe Pedro out wide. Any other changes?

Sounds about right on the changes there Stuilse, I imagine if Reece is fit then he comes back in too. Other than that I´m not sure we´ve got much room to move on the changes, all of a sudden we are looking quite light in the squad. We surely have plenty in the tank to beat Hull though, just praying we dont take them back to the Bridge in a replay, will be the end of our cup run for sure 🙂

I think we should be able to win this one. Bats should start. We should rest our normal starting 11 to give others the opportunity to showcase themselves. I hope Alonso will be playing. Tomori and Zouma CB. RB probably Tariq Lamptey?

I don’t think it will be a complete scratch team there will almost certainly be a number of first team starters in the team to face Hull, you can’t disrespect the FA Cup it’s an important part of the Club’s history and fielding complete scratch sides in the FA Cup can be dangerous just ask Watford.

Hull are no mugs the Stadium is sold out and will be bouncing and it will imo be a very tricky tie and will require a strong Chelsea team to give us the best chance of going into the hat for the 5th Round Draw additionally we don’t want a draw which would add a replay to an already crammed fixture list..

Yes mid table Championship team so respect definitely needed. Those sides can hurt us just as easily as the lower table Premiership teams so whatever team Frank puts out will have to be well up for it and perform well. I am sure Hull would have picked up on the tactics used to bring us down already many times this season so hopefully Frank has the answers.

Actual line up still a pretty strong team:Caballero, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso, Barkley, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Pedro, Batshuayi.
Subs: Cumming, Christensen, Lamptey, Maatsen, Gilmour, Emerson, Willian.

Frustrating first half that, we should be home and hosed by half time. I´m not sure how we solve this problem of not putting teams away when we’re on top, but we really need to sooner than later. Totally dominant but being let down by sloppy finishing.

Poor all over the pitch today imo bar maybe Azpi, Tomori and Kovacic who unfortunately commited the cardinal sin of jumping out of the way you have to stand strong in the wall.

Plus the same old problem of dominating but not taking our chances which let Hull back into it.

But we’re in the hat for the next Round and that’s all that counts.

Dont reckon we were that poor nine. Played some decent stuff. But, same old issues of not killing a game off. Huge plus was the 25 minutes of Billy Gilmour. Holy cow, what a prospect. So composed on the ball with some silky skills…outshone Jorginho when he came on. Here’s hoping for a kind 5th round draw.

Another very average performance which is worrying as it’s going to become much more difficult opposition. One silver lining is Gilmour, needs to start getting regular game time. I still don’t know if Lampard knows what his best defense is, don’t think any of us do know.

I saw utube clips of Gilmour playing for Rangers I think it was, it’s amazing how everytime he turns around with the ball he has a whole lot space, don’t see that every week.

Thought Kovacic had a pretty good game apart from that one defensive blunder for their goal. He has a good range of passes from mid-field pinging the ball over the place and pretty accurate too.

Apart from the last 15 minutes, we had been good but was missing goals to show for. people are just focussing that we lost Hazard. but they are forgetting that we also lost an assist king in Fabregas. he would have been the one we would be calling to unlock the stubborn defences. and we never managed to replace him. we have managed to replace the goals of Hazard as we are in a better position than we are at this stage last season. but Fabregas assists and inch-perfect passes are missing and we need to find that. we need to replace the creativity of Fabregas. if you want to see what we are missing, you must watch our FA cup tie with Hul in 2018 and Pedro’s goal.

Yep Chelseaman and whilst you can’t hold back time or put milk back in the bottle imagine Cesc, Costa, Hazard, Terry and Courtois/Cech in this team.😊

Chelseaman, i don’t agree with you on that one. we are not missing Fabregas, we are missing a quick build up in our play. we often seem to give teams time to regroup. our counter attacks is slow, our build up is slow, we take many touches before we pass which allows teams to regroup and defend us in numbers. and part of that is that we have lost Hazard who used to move the ball quicker, plus we have Jorginho he lacks pace and physicality in winning the ball quicker when the opposition is disorganized, unless we sort out these factors, this problem will be here to stay. but i trust Lampard to sort it.

Here is one, in his prime at Chelsea Fabregas has been recording double figures in assist charts. do we have that kind of player who can give the kind of balls he gives? I’m afraid to say the answer is no. all of our players are great in getting the end of a good pass. but are not suited to giving that killer pass. the closest we have to a good passer is Barkley and he is not consistent. so we need to find a creative number 8 who will support our attack and is a good passer like Fabregas.

We are missing a lot of things, of course. Otherwise we would have been 1st. But the main problem, IMO, we simply are missing a midfielder who can shoot. We had Thiago, Essien, J Cole, but especially Lampard. Now we have none. A central midfielder who can shoot, so that our wingers do not have to pass to the striker, but they can pass backward for our midfielder to shoot. None of Jorginho, Kovacic or Kante can do that. The closest would be Mount and Barkley but the latter does not feature enough.
