If he wasn’t Ole he’d have been sacked ages ago. Plus his bum boys like Neville would be asking for his head.

Do you mean should he resign?

If he resigns he loses a payoff. I don’t blame him for sticking it out. No manager ever offers to quit these days.

We should have got rid of him and saved Ole the decision. Can’t help but think we are waiting for the right person to be available though to replace him.

He is but why should he forego a payoff, it’s not like he’ll get work after this so he may as well retire. He’ll be called in for meeting and it will be a ‘mutual agreement’ so he won’t get the full pay-off but he’ll get a lot of it. They’ll use the balance to buy his successor out of his contract.

Yeah that’s what i don’t understand Killy, this notion of no one being available. It doesn’t fuckin matter if they’re available or not you call them, tap them up or whatever you want to call it and then buy them out of their current contract.
I hope the brains running the club aren’t only looking at which managers are currently unemployed and then thinking, hmmmm there’s not many around at the moment is there?!

I think Ole is genuinely blinded by his love for the club and also knows he will never work again outside of Norway. It was the chance of a lifetime and he’s blown it although he was never qualified for the job. Under the current ownership, I do wonder if we are becoming an unmanageable club?

No doubt he loves the club. But 8f he truely loved the club and has an ounce of dignity and self-respect. He’d leave ASAP.

There’s not many people who would leave by their own accord and walk away from a multi-million pound pay day.

Agree, anyone with half a brain would hang around for the pay off. And you know, I think he still thinks he can turn it around.

If the Neville brothers and Fergie had to compile a list of possible managers to replace Ole. It would be one of the following.

    -Nicky Butt.
    -Ryan Giggs.
    -Darren Fletcher.
    -Michael Carrick.

I think the fact that John Terry has stayed away from Chelsea speaks volumes. He knows he has to cut his teeth away from his comfort zone. Even Rooney is doing it and he’s not doing too bad at Derby in fairness under the circumstances but neither are ready for a big club and they’ve the common sense to know it.

Interesting that everyone thought I was talking about being selfish for his payout money.

I am talking about Ole being selfish to save his job and not putting the clubs interest 1st.

    1) no interest in playing entertaining football for the fans

    2) no interest in developing youth as apart from Greenwood he has shipped them all out on loan

    3) investing so much time in rashford martial Greenwood and signing sancho who are all inverted forwards only to play a formation in 352 that they can’t play in

    4) parking the bus so we go into games with not losing as the 1st motive meaning we never play on the front foot

    5) changing formations week by week because it failed the week before rather than sticking to a formation and style of play no matter what the opposition to build for the future.

Waiting for the right manager is crusial. Ten-Haag only avaiable next season.
I can wait if he is the one.

I actually think no matter how badly he does this season. They’re going to let him see the season out.

@ika – You’re right mate, I’ve been referring to Ole as ‘Mourinho lite’ for some time now. He has completely gone away from everything he promised when he got the job, and it’s now just turned into a case of him staving off the vultures from week to week and trying to get that 4th spot to save his job and keep his nose in the trough for yet another season of turgid shite.
Forget playing fast, front foot attacking football, promoting youth players, developing and improving players within the squad, and winning trophies because none of it really matters to him now. On the contrary, the overwhelming evidence is that the longer a player works under Ole and his goons the worse he becomes, not one single player is performing better now having worked under him than he was originally, the football ‘style’ is horrific and we are now going into games with no wingers, two defensive midfielders and five defenders, he’s a complete fucking charlatan!

The gimps need to wise the fuck up and realise the damage he is doing as well as the millions he has wasted on shite signings. He’s already destroyed Donny VdB’s prospects for the foreseeable future, and he’s going to do the same to Jadon Sancho if he stays much longer, plus there’s an unpolished gem called Amad Diallo who has the potential to be a real star given the right guidance, but it’s not going to happen in a million years under this clueless regime, simple as that.

There were several articles yesterday about Rodgers taking over. If he is their preferred choice, now is the time. Not sure how much teams get for qualifying for the Champions League but surely this will offset any costs incurred.

Blacky, maybe VDB is the new Tom Cleverly.

Ole chased Sancho for the best part of two transfer windows and keeps him on the bench. Couldn’t make this up….

@scholsey – Maybe he is mate, but it would suggest that what he had done previously for both Ajax and Holland showed that he had a bit more to his game than that, hence why he cost 35m to buy. Either way, continually preferring utter shite like Fred, McT, Pogba and Matic instead irrespective of how poorly they play is close to being a criminal act.
As for ECL prize money, it’s close to 40 million euros just for qualification and getting to the last 16, then around 85 million euros for lifting the trophy. Factor in all the increased revenue from sponsors and match attendances from a good run and you can see the potential loss of that money is staggering. Sacking Ole and his goons would be just small change from down the back of the sofa in comparison.
