I don’t know what the media are saying, that was my viewpoint. For me, there is a difference between what I regard as the “true” terrorist, somebody who is a member of a group with an ideology, and the lone wolf who suddenly one day for little apparent reason goes beserk.
Ever since 911 the USA (and west) has had an agenda to call everything terrorism in order to justify their actions and spending.
As for media, I watch CNN mostly and I get annoyed at media how they go on and on covering the same stuff whenever tragedy strikes and are rubbernecks milking tragedies for every minute they can. Jeez if you want to bring attention to your gripe, a good mass shooting will certainly get you the coverage you want.
That said, I dont think the media has whipped up a storm. I think they are riding a storm that already exists and perhaps giving it more legs. Its like those performers with the plates spinning on poles, as one is about to fall, fade from headlines, they give the pole a shake to get it spinning again.
Incidents like this are inevitable given the number of attacks by muslims. It’s only a matter of time before one of those gun nuts in America does a mosque.
In my opinion, if you even just sympathise with terrorist acts or agendas that involve mass murder, for example celebrate or express support for a terror attack, you should get hauled in for phychiatric evaluation and jailed. You’ll find guys like this lurking around on twitter or other places online and it seems like nobody does anything about it.
Instead it seems everyone just goes after their political rivals after these events, focusing on moderates who’ve got nothing to do with it.
Awful stuff. Isis are saying they are going to retaliate, which we all know just means they’ll randomly kill innocent people, while the actual dangerous people on both sides carry on their agendas in the shadows.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s incompetence, or whether the guys at the top want terrorism to exist in our countries.
