Yes your argument is in your head, you are claiming that i disagree with you regarding that wage packet for 1.6 million… you have been claiming I somehow disagree with you and you cant get it into your head that i don’t!
The whole argument is happening in your head…
Nobody knew the contract Mbappe was gonna end up with… whether it was gonna be 350k, 500k, 750k or as it turned out 1.6 million…
The club can only offer what it is capable of paying, I never suggested we would break the barrier for him like you continue to state. I talked about us being capable of paying 350k and possible up to 500k depending on the merchandise sold.
I think he would have gotten a similar contract to what Haaland got at City and that he would have had a similar effect… can you get that into your head and stop claiming I disagree with you on the 1.6 million contract like youve been doing for the past week or so
January 29, 2023 at 12:45 pm #2172992Btw im not unhappy with Nunez and Gakpo coming instead, Klopp has been working hard on getting a new frontline and we basically have it even if it has not clicked yet but its only a matter of time.
On the other hand Klopp has to deal with the same issue in midfield and the transition that needs to be done there next.
I have serious doubts the club will offer any of the first team players that are up for a extension a new contract.
I dont like cutting it so close to make or break the squad, cause we are not even competing right now for top four, there is no guarantee that the summer window will be any better than the past windows.
Bellingham could go to Real Madrid for all we know and then the whole fanbase will revolt if results do not pick up…
The club is betting everything on the next window and its a very risky move, especially now that we know that FSG basically want to leave because the super league didnt happen…
January 29, 2023 at 3:35 pm #2173040“Song, was just living in fantasy football land there for a minute or two with my midfield!”
–
It may actually happen.January 29, 2023 at 3:55 pm #2173047So Brighton paid 3mil for Mitoma and we can’t find the right midfielder for anything less that 100mil? I don’t get it. I really don’t get it… That guy looked like Maradona out there. His stats are pretty fantastic considering where he’s playing. You’re telling me we can’t find cheap players that are better than this lot? Fuck.
January 29, 2023 at 4:27 pm #2173054Seems according to klopp there will be no additional buys this season…so, basically we’ve given this season up!
January 29, 2023 at 4:37 pm #2173058“The whole argument is happening in your head…”
–
No it’s not, it’s in the real world where the absolute, best, elite players like Mbappe get paid astronomical amounts because of their ability.
–
What you’ve been trying to imply (with your original Echo link) is that Liverpool could have signed Mbappe last summer, by offering £500K/week, as you suggested, . Because you say “Nobody knew the contract Mbappe was gonna end up with… whether it was gonna be 350k, 500k, 750k or as it turned out 1.6 million…”
–
But it was totally obvious what type of contract Mbappe was going to get.
–
Why, simply look at market forces, he is the best young player in the world, and in the top 3 players (alongside Ronaldo and Messi), so he would definitely be paid at least as much as his PSG teammate Messi (£960K/week) and even more because he’s much younger and at the peak of his career.
–
So despite your fantasies, Liverpool never had a chance of signing Mbappe, because we could never afford his wages. Also his preferred destination is Real Madrid, but even they failed to sign him last summer, because PSG’s wage packet, plus other benefits, was just too good to resist.January 29, 2023 at 4:51 pm #2173063“I think he would have gotten a similar contract to what Haaland got at City and that he would have had a similar effect…”
–
You’re wrong yet again, this would definitely NOT have happened at Liverpool as we can’t afford it. Mbappe is the best young player in the world (and a World Cup winner) and would have demanded to be paid much higher than Halland, who is on £865K/week.
–
Seem you can’t understand that Mbappe (and his agent) know exactly how much he is worth, and will greedily demand it, and it’s definitely far higher than some of the sums you’ve been throwing about like £500K/week.January 29, 2023 at 5:56 pm #2173089January 29, 2023 at 5:56 pm #2173090He said: “No, no, no. Nothing will happen in this transfer window. That’s all. All good.”
GO TO HELL!!!
January 30, 2023 at 10:10 am #2173219You don’t know it, that contract he got at PSG came as a surprise to everyone and dont forget you couldnt even imagine Salah getting the contract i proposed. Thoughy that 350k would ve too much for the club…
He signed the contract before the world cup, there were two other teams that entered into a contract negotiation besides psg, Real Madrid and us, this has been documented so well. Confirmed by him, his agent, his own mother.
You even still cant get it into your head that even if we had managed to sign him on a contract his value would have covered the expense…
Similar to the effect his value has on the psg squad right now…
400 million pounds is the asking price after he signed his contract as has been quoted by the chairman of PSG.
The only reason as to why you can’t get it in your head that we did hold discussions with him is because you can’t imagine the player signing.
The highest salary mentioned here was around 500.000. Not 1.6 million like you are claiming in hindsight.
January 30, 2023 at 10:14 am #2173220I mean for fucks sake… you are claiming that every post that ive made about the finances of Liverpool is wrong because he got a 1.6 million contract… you are so fucking far off
You just say this one thing, without anyone disagreeing with you and keep arguing like a idiot…
January 30, 2023 at 8:59 pm #2173513Here’s an issue I highlighted not too long ago…
“Under Klopps watch alone Mario Balotelli, Jose Enrique, Lazar Markovic, Emre Can, Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana, Gini Wijnaldum, Divock Origi, and Loris Karius have all left the club on free transfers after their own big-money moves to Anfield. While you can’t dispute the departure of most of these players, Liverpool spent a combined £154m when signing them and then banked nothing when they left.Meanwhile, the likes of Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita are currently poised to join such a list come the summer, potentially taking that total of vanishing millions up to £275.75m.”
–
Now I get some will always leave on frees, I don’t think this has been good management of the squad refreshment.January 30, 2023 at 11:17 pm #2173544It doesn’t bode good reading for sure Ginger. I know there’s valid, mitigating circumstances regarding each and every one of those players mentioned (age, salary, form, dickheadedness – Balotelli), but it doesn’t promote complete faith in the ‘system’ (despite our success – paradox?).
January 31, 2023 at 12:52 am #2173557Like I said Rob some will always leave on frees. No one’s expecting fees for all of them.
But for all those players to leave on a free or about to is ridiculous.
Then you have to factor in Matip, Thiago, Hendo. How much will recouped on their investment.
–
There’s a lot of players mentioned there involved in our CL and title wins/challenges.January 31, 2023 at 8:19 am #2173589On these free transfers are you blaming Klopp or was you just stating that these players left on a free over his tenure ship?
–
The running financially and of the commercial assets (including players) isnt in Klopp’s remit, yes he has a say on who comes and goes of course but it’ll be down to FSG to make sure that they’re not losing company assets for free. What we dont know is FSG stance, they maybe happy to let player x leave on a free than spend out money on a new player, so selling player x would leave the team short while FSG sort the finances out for the ‘war chest’ that we keep hearing about.
–
The longer the more you look back on the FSG financing (or maybe should be fleecing) under this big cloud we have over us…the worse it looks really!
–
Looks like chelsea are going to break the £600m bracket, you gotta hand it to Chelsea for finding the loophole in FFP but shows we dont have a hope in hells chance of competing in the transfer market at that spending rate.January 31, 2023 at 9:29 am #2173627I’m not blaming Klopp.
But I’m sure he has a say on who goes, when they go and who he wants to stay.
That’s not to say it’s all on him.
I’m stating it’s poor squad management.
We’re constantly told we need to balance the books, sell to buy etc.
Well that’s a lot of players leaving on a free with several more very likely to leave on frees in the near future.
Who we selling exactly?January 31, 2023 at 9:34 am #2173631who we buying exactly?
January 31, 2023 at 11:25 am #2173709Wanna laugh (thats all we can do right now to stay saine)….konate out for three-four weeks
January 31, 2023 at 11:33 am #2173714Perhaps we should concentrate on getting these injury issues Right before getting new players. No point getting new players for them to only land on the treatment table. This is getting ridiculous
January 31, 2023 at 1:20 pm #2173774For whatever reason we’re struggling, it really doesn’t help when your team is constantly having to change. So, it looks like a CB pairing of Gomez and Phillips…we should walk it eh? 😃 easy peasy!
