As long as he comes guys it’ll be good.
What would be a massive mistake is if we don’t get him and again don’t have an eye on an alternative.
December 24, 2017 at 2:18 pm #1574295Yes, get in, the Dutch Sami just in time for Xmas; now sign a non-child decent Goalie while yer at it FSG and we’re almost sorted for the New Year!
December 24, 2017 at 2:20 pm #1574298Van Dijk will come.
December 25, 2017 at 2:31 pm #1574403The only one i see leaving is Sturridge, he will want more game time and a shot at the world cup squad and if he leaves im pretty sure a bid will be made for Lemar.
December 26, 2017 at 5:06 am #1574425Reports just coming in here in Oz that VVD is close to signing for c$ty, deal apparently done for over 60mil. I suppose he wants the gaurentee he’s gunna win the EPL for the next 5 years. Money talks as they say. C$ty are already streets ahead of everyone else so they’re tying up the EPL for the foreseeable future. Sad this is all football is about these days.
December 26, 2017 at 8:04 am #1574426FSG are only steaming in for VVD because they are panicking over not finishing 4th which is the height of their ambition. This is as much as we can aim for with these c@@ts in charge, trophyless attempts to secure a place in a competition we have no real chance of winning. Not convinced they will get VVD, must be a cheaper piece of potential out there surely??
December 26, 2017 at 9:09 am #1574428Scrooge and the Grinch had a baby and they called it timetogo
December 26, 2017 at 10:02 am #1574440Those reports about Van Dik going to City are rubbish, created on Xmas day to titillate bored fans.
Van Dijk wants to play for Klopp, Liverpool is his preferred destination
December 26, 2017 at 10:14 am #1574445Is 70m not crazy money for vvd? I’m unsure about him now to be honest.
We could get two centre backs for that. We badly need a keeper in the summer aswell
December 26, 2017 at 10:25 am #1574449Yeah Sean it seems massive money for a CB & you’d think we could get a couple better than what we have for that money. That said maybe it’s what you have to pay these days for quality & to take you to the next level. I won’t complain if we get him that’s for sure but I also wouldn’t be too upset if we miss out on him but got a couple of improvements at the back. Hell I’d be happy to see us improve the back at all so here’s hoping, we certainly need to to have a shot at top 4.
December 26, 2017 at 11:22 am #1574470Ye Aussie I think we badly need a cb
Hope you had a good Christmas mate
December 26, 2017 at 12:52 pm #1574517I’ve heard similar re VVD Songman.
I guess only time will tell.
There’s a distinct dearth of quality centrebacks across Europe at the min so when one half decent one turns up his price naturally is gonna be silly. Couple that with the extra money in the game and we see the prices being quoted for VVD.
Ideally I’d want 2 centrebacks but one would do in Jan for the meantime.
Gomez is progressing well, getting plenty of games in the defence albeit at fullback. Perhaps if he continues progressing he could be ready to play a part in the centre of defence. I think, long term, that’s where Klopp sees him.December 26, 2017 at 2:27 pm #1574552VVD if he doesn’t go to City, & Chielini on a free will be good Jan business.
December 26, 2017 at 7:53 pm #1574805Yep Sean had a great one thanks mate, I ate fruit & not much else in the lead up as I knew the pavlova & other goodies would be in abundance & I wasn’t wrong. The belt got extended a couple of notches that’s for sure. How’d you go mate, get a skin full or had a quiet one?
December 26, 2017 at 7:56 pm #1574806I think that’s a good point ginger, there aren’t many with the qualities of VVD around & the price reflects that. Seriously how do you compete with c$ty, they have unlimited funds & are already streets ahead of everyone else so if they want a player they get them. Why wouldn’t you go there, pretty much guaranteed success & massive money to boot. Sad this is what it’s all about these days.
December 26, 2017 at 11:23 pm #1574863We should take a look at Burnley’s James Tarkowski. I think he played in Burnley’s match against United were they drew 2-2. Could be a cheaper alternative.
Actually, for 70 million, we could get James Tarkowski and Leicester Harry Magure (who we will get to see this weekend) for VVDs valuation price of 70m with some change left over…
December 27, 2017 at 5:16 pm #1575061Well looks like vvd is done
75m. No were near worth that but Klopp has got his man
December 27, 2017 at 5:24 pm #1575065December 27, 2017 at 5:38 pm #1575070If this is true, then Van Dijk had better be worth the money, £75m is way too much to spend on a single player, let alone a central defender.
I seriously hope the fee is much closer to £50m
December 27, 2017 at 5:41 pm #1575071Well well that is surprising news. That is a big sum even for VVD, but Klopp got his first choice CB. It also shows that FSG really means business this year and is backing Klopp financially, which is a good news.
