Reports today indicate that Higuain is flying into London today, I assume for a medical, and to be available on the bench for tomorrows game. From what I have seen that sounds somewhat ambitious but I guess if he was bought in to score goals and we know the significance of a positive result tomorrow then even a 15-20 minute cameo might work if we are struggling…?

Mtal61 – totally disagree regarding Tammy. We are losing Morata and rumours claimed teams are looking at Giroud as well and while I think he will stay until the end of the season I fully expect him to move on then. For me, that leave Higuain (obviously an open question at the moment as to his capability or not) and then Tammy on the back of what I hope continues to be a loan spell at Villa. We would still need another striker but who that would be would largely depend on how the board and manager view how well Higuain has performed and will we extend his contract. KTBFFH

If Hazard and HOD stay we can manage with only Abraham and Higuain as then we will have proper scoring midfielders as well.

Looks like PSG may have joined the race to sign Paredes? Not sure what’s held up the progress on this ond be a shame if we lose him he looks a good player.

seems that CHO changed his mind? I think if Chelsea are able to convince him not to leave in January, if he performs well in the remaining of this season: I believe he will sign and he will stay and he will become a core in the current Chelsea team.

Higuain, hope he will join sooner than later, still no confirmation so I suspect at the quickest Monday. I hope he is still a great goalscorer. I remember when George Weah joined us, he was already old, he was not the same player as he was in AC Milan. Same as Etoo, he was already old when he joined us and he was already past his prime (although still scored some important goals for us)

Aindro – Not seen anything to support that theory regarding HOD but if true, then he must get more games so will be interesting to see how Sarri plays this. Clearly both Willian and Pedro will play less but who comes on as the replacement (which Sarri always does) may give an indication as to who could be moving on next year

    Hope you are right…!! KTBFFH

Whatever happens with Hudson Odoi given all the speculation and his age his attitude has been fantastic. Sarri spoke positively about that today.

Allegedly Chelsea have or are about to put a big new improved offer to him with upward sliding scales to circa £70k pw. “Chelsea are prepared to offer English winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, 18, a new deal worth £50,000 per week – rising to as much as £70,000 – in a bid to hold off another bid from Bayern Munich. (Mail)

Sarri and his Coaches are working hard on improving CHO and I’m sure he’s responding to that positively if all of the new contract, the special coaching and minutes on the pitch all come together between now and the end of the season maybe he will stay it’s a gamble by the Club and will cost us if it misfires because he will be worth less in the Summer than he is now but it’s a gamble worth taking imo.

Totally agree but the onus is 100% on Sarri

Maybe Sarri and/or the Club did not appreciate the feelings of HOD but recent events seem to indicate that they have always appreciated his ability and potential for the Club but simply that he was fed up not getting games. Yes we could cash in on him now but equally by giving him more game time in all competitions would also show our commitment and recognition to him and he could be persuaded to stay

He still has Hazard and Pulisic ahead of him, not to mention Willian and Pedro, but if everyone is right about this kid then he should see those last 2 off easily enough. The main problem as I see it is if Hazard decides to remain then you would assume that HOD has to be the back up to these guys unless Pulisic has trouble settling in…?

If it was me, I would keep him, play him and see how everything progresses from there. KTBFFH

CFC1905 & 999, yes I read about that rumour too: that Chelsea are preparing an improved contract for CHO. My own opinion, is that the lad was simply frustrated that he never got opportunities while lads of his age are thriving in Germany. If he keeps being given opportunities (starting or even from the bench): I think he will sign at the end of the season. Hopefully, that’s my hypothesis 😉

And if CHO keeps getting minutes, I do believe that he is better than Pulisic. And btw we all know we don’t know where Hazard will play next season. I just don’t look for rumours about him anymore as we know for sure that he will stay in January, but he will decide in the summer. So keeping CHO for me is essential, super important for us.

Of course it’s a massive gamble Chelsea spurning Bayerns 35-40 mill to hang on to CHO but it took the interests of one of europe’s elite club to make Chelsea realise that Hudson-Odoi is quality and is no ten-to-a-penny starlet the club can afford to dispense with reasoning there’s plenty more where he came from. We’ll soon see if the club’s gesture is just empty words and lip-service or a genuine deed meaning more game time for the lad at the expense of Pedro or Willian.

a foursome of Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Hudson to choose from would do the trick, they surely understand they cannot always play every game with that kind of competition and Giroud and Higuain upfront as well.

To be honest, the club would have sold him long before had it not been the outcry and the embarrassment that the sales of Lukaku, Salah and KDB had caused. we are seriously lacking any plan to integrate the best young talents from our academy, either we hire the wrong managers for that job, or we put a lot of pressure under the managers we hire that can do such a job. this CHO is ready to play against any team. Sterling was similar age when Liverpool trusted him, and they nearly won the league that season. Sane was at a similar age to CHO when Pep signed him.

I was reading from somewhere today that one of our targets has agreed to join PSG. this confirms what I had long suspected. this club has no transfer strategy at all. we only know to wait and hope the club softens their stance. we lost many players through that ill-advised strategy. and we still haven’t learned any lesson. we only have business people in charge, not footballing people. this Higuain thing is a smoke screen. I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlie Austin is signed at the end of January. because that is where things are heading. I was reading on Wednesday that Chelsea and Juventus have agreed on the deal. and 48 hours later nothing has happened that is pathetic. CHO has won this battle because he knows what he wants, I don’t think money is his primary motivation. game time is his primary motivation. and so far our Italian Grandad is not prepared to assure him that. the result will be he will walk out freely after 18 months like Hazard.

Any sensible club would have put measures to solve this problem two summers ago. but somehow our clueless board just thought things will be fine miraculously. we are reaping the rewards of our poor vision.

Leroy Sane was around 20 heading toward 21 when he joined City in 2016 and Callum Hudson Odoi is currently 18 (just turned) which blows that one out of the water. Sterling was certainly 17 when he joined Liverpool however certainly was not the player he is today at that raw age. Callum is getting his chance now which is about the right age to be able to handle the physical requirements of our league. So there is no issue then. Either he stays or he goes, his choice.

All point bulletin. Anybody know of a club they can refer to me that I can support that doesn’t seriously lack any plan to integrate the best young talents from it’s academy, that hires the right manager for the job, or does not put a lot of pressure under the managers it hires that can do such a job.

A club that has a transfer strategy that does not have only business people in charge, but footballing people but not managed by an Italian Grand dad.

A sensible club that has measures in place two years in advance to solve anticipated problems that will eventuate, a club that is not run by a clueless board that has poor vision.

There’s only one catch people, this club’s trophy haul in the last 16 years in particular must exceed that of Chelsea Football Club otherwise I will reluctantly stay put and continue dealing with all the pain that comes with the territory or alternatively I could seek professional help as I try and convince my shrink that all of what I read is not true but just someone’s own personal opinion that has been forced upon me relentlessly in order to break me.

    Thankyou in anticipation.

If Bayern have really offered Hudson Odoi £85k pw given that you can’t negotiate with a player or his representatives without the permission of his Club then he has been tapped up.

Credit to the young man for how he’s handling all this conjecture.

Great to see Ashley Cole signing up to play for Frank Lampard and Derby County for the rest of the season.

No reason why Hazard, if he stays, Pulisic and CHO can’t ALL be accommodated. Will require a change of formation though…4-2-3-1, with the above three playing behind a single striker. Jorg and Kante can play as a midfield double pivot. Higuain upfront if he impresses…he’ll feast on what the three behind him will provide. Pace, creativity, trickery, accurate balls whipped into the box….sounds good to me. Then again WTF do I know?

Stuilse, you’re a bit like Martin Peters mate 10 years ahead of your time.😊 Sarri has been discussing just last week the potential of a switch to 4/2/3/1 which he did in his last season at Napoli. Maybe he’s been waiting for a striker he believes in.

“Chelsea have spent two of the past three seasons out of the Champions League. Another absence next time around is unthinkable right now.

Its why, heading into Saturday’s derby, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy is acting to revive the campaign while Arsenal’s boardroom appears ready once again to settle for less.” Evening Standard 20/1/19

“As current Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti recently pointed out, Higuain’s move to Chelsea is reportedly one link in a chain of three transfer deals.

“Three common interests,” Ancelotti stated, so what are they?

AC Milan would be exposing themselves to risk should they terminate Higuain’s loan until they find an adequate replacement for the Argentinian.

Higuain is Milan’s top-scorer this season, with eight goals and 21-year-old Patrick Cutrone, one behind on seven, may still be too young to replace him as the bearer of attacking burdens.

As a result, Milan have been linked with signing Krzysztof Piątek from fellow Serie A side Genoa.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a very good debut season with Genoa, scoring 13 goals so far in Serie A – second only to Cristiano Ronaldo – and has already been linked with the likes of Barcelona.

But Milan are now in the driving seat and, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, are expected to wrap up the deal in the coming days.

Piatek joining Milan would free up Higuain to join Chelsea on the proposed six-month loan deal until the end of the season.

Should Piatek and Higuain finalise their moves, Morata is expected to join Atletico Madrid, returning to the city of his birth and completing the domino dynamic at the heart of this transfer saga.”

999 hope that such moves will happen in the next few days. We do need Higuain now for more confidence.
