Homerjay-Liverpool fans would be delighted with that, dont you think?Lol
January 14, 2019 at 7:02 pm #1716668I think at this point in time any transfers made should be with keeping our academy plaers in mind. We have Tuanzebe, TFM, Chong, Gomes and Greenwood that should all be playing a part in the first team soon.
Tuanzebe – Right sided CB with good composure and reading of the game.
TFM – RB with bags of athleticism and strength in contrast to Dalot’s ability.
Chong – Pacey RW.
Gomes – Tricky/skillful LW.
Greenwood – I admit that I dont know much about him yet.Any signings should be made to help blood these players into the first team. As good as De Ligt is, if we get him then where will Tuanzebe play? And Lindelof? We’re missing a leader and a powerhouse of a CB that can play on the left side. That should be Koulibaly. The only other signing I would make would be in midfield and possibly a striker so that we can let Lukaku go.
We are missing someone that can pass the ball in midfield and keep the ball moving. Someone like Neves. And we are missing someone that can win the ball back and get stuck into opposition players. Someone like N’Didi. Other than that, I wouldnt want to sign anyone that will stunt the progress of our academy players coming through. If they all make it we can then boast a first team that consists of Tuanzebe, TFM, Chong, Gomes, Lingard, Rashford and Pogba that have all come from the same academy. Thats how Barcelona gained so much success, and thats how we got so much success in the past. Add Solskjaer to that and we could have a successful identity again.
January 15, 2019 at 3:11 pm #1716922Gary Neville is spot on.
Neville names three players who do not suit Man Utd’s style under Solskjaer
January 15, 2019 at 11:00 pm #1717012A sign that Ole won’t get the job full time, is if he doesn’t sign anyone in Jan.
January 16, 2019 at 4:08 am #1717016A decision won’t have been made yet. I reckon if we finish in the top 4, the job probably is Ole’s. This window comes too soon for that.
Also, i wouldn’t be surprised if we were working on efforts now to bring in players next summer
It would be nice to bring somebody in but I’d also be happy if we sign up the likes of Martial and de Gea and clear some of the deadwood like Rojo/FellainiJanuary 16, 2019 at 7:05 am #1717020I honestly think this team is 2/3 signings away from being a top side. A top class CB like Kouilibaly is certainly needed and I also think we require a quality CM and right sided winger as it was evident that we are weak on the right flank both defensively and offensively. If United make the right signings in the summer, promising times may lie ahead. Utd have found their mojo again thanks to good old Ole.
January 16, 2019 at 8:21 am #1717050RB?
Striker to replace Lukaku
CM to replace Matic?January 16, 2019 at 8:22 am #1717051Who would you bring in as CM @tMA? I’m a big fan of Herrera but neither he nor Matic are good enough in then long run. Looks like Fellaini is good as gone and if Andreas stays, I’m not sure he’ll ever be good enough to be automatic first choice (hope I’m proved wrong though). McTominay needs at least 1.5 years out on loan before he can be considered and tbh I think it’s a little early to judge Fred just yet.
I think we’ll need a DM and a creative midfielder to play alongside Pogba
January 16, 2019 at 8:24 am #1717052Kante is not playing in his correct position, would it be worth a try?
January 16, 2019 at 9:21 am #1717078Kante would be a fantastic signing, a great foil for Pogba and will protect the retards we have at the back.
January 16, 2019 at 9:56 am #1717092Yes,its a Kante player we wants and a dmf player.
Matic,Fred,Herrera,Pereira,McTominay,Fellaini are not good enough.
Rebuilding midfield and back4 is urgent.January 16, 2019 at 9:59 am #1717093Kante will be 28 at the end of the season and Chelsea would demand a fortune for him having lost Fabregas, trying to sell Drinkwater and Bakayoko seemingly not working out.
Somebody mentioned Ndidi recently. He’s the right profile, great defensively but I haven’t seen enough of him to know if he’s good enough on the ballJanuary 16, 2019 at 11:13 am #1717137@homer – I am a big fan of Milankovic-Savic. He’s one of the well rounded midfielders in the world. He has a good sense of positioning and has a solid number of interceptions and tackles every game. He has an incredible dribbling ability and speed for his size. Perfect partner for Pogba. I would keep Matic, Herrera and Fred in the team. Get rid Fellaini and loan out McTominay and Perreira.
January 16, 2019 at 11:22 am #1717141No doubt we need to upgrade the RB position and replace Lukaku (with Mbappe :), but the priority positions we need to address this summer are CB, CM and RW. I would keep Matic for another season.
January 16, 2019 at 11:46 am #1717150I don’t think Mbappe will swap Paris for Manchester to be honest. He’s more likely to go to Barca or Madrid if he leaves PSG. Our geographic position will always be a stumbling block to signing players. We need a proper CB, Koulibaly would be excellent but I’d equally take Varane or Romagnoli.
January 16, 2019 at 11:56 am #1717158Given how Jose kicked up a public stink about transfers for sure the board held discussions with him on targets and for sure negotiations for some of those targets are at an advanced stage.
We know how Ed used the “advanced stage” argument to get LvG approval for Moyes targets Herrera and Shaw.
I suspect Ed may get Ole opinion on near complete deals. If Ole says Yes, Ed gets them and if Ole says No, Ed is more than happy to keep the money in the bank.
January 16, 2019 at 12:36 pm #1717174No doubt Madrid and Barcelona are appealing to most players. But, I am confident we can compete for players like Mbappe if we make the right offer. Nobody expected us to sign Pogba ahead of Madrid. Nobody thought Neymar would swap Barcelona for PSG. Money speaks. I read somewhere PSG might be forced into selling Mbappe or Neymar to avoid FFP sanctions. So, I can dream Utd can sign Mbappe. A forward line consist of Rashford, Martial, Mbappe and Pogba send shivers down our opponents spine across Europe.
January 16, 2019 at 12:55 pm #1717183@tma, that would be awesome but I think Mbappe, more than Pogba, will consider lifestyle ahead of money. Yes Monaco has a great climate but Paris is Paris after all and he is a Parisien. We’d compete with Barca or Real for his signature but if either of those teams seriously came in for him against us I think we’d lose out. If it was just us then yeah, I think he’d come but only if there was no other massively big club (Real, Barca) up against us.
Saw reports there of rumours that Zidane has agreed to take over Juve in the summer as well, does that mean that Allegri is moving on/being sacked? He’d be a serious contender to oust Ole if he’s free, regardless of how good a job Ole does. As stated, it is a rumour so we won’t take too much stock in it.January 16, 2019 at 1:24 pm #1717189PSG wont be forced to sell Mbappe or Neymar, they have tons of players they can get rid to comply with FFP,i.e. Cavani,ADM,Draxler,Lo Celso,Munier,Kurzawa, etc. Why would he chose United instead of Real & Barca? I can see KM replacing Messi very soon.
January 16, 2019 at 1:56 pm #1717213Been linked with a £25m move for S.Bergwijn of PSV.
