OK then, here is one to get you all arguing (constructively); if the the the team is shit and the manager is shit, what do you do? The easy answer is is ‘get rid of Woodward!! and/or get rid of the Glazers!!’ ……don’t use the easy answer as they are unlikely to happen; be realistic….manager???? realistic payers in??? (and out).January 7, 2020 at 8:48 am #1814032
think most have made it cleat on here at least, very few of the players would be kept, mostly the young lads that have shown promise, and a new mangger with Poch being favourite, maybe Allegri in the summer?January 7, 2020 at 9:06 am #1814036
TO be fair there is potential in the team, there are some good players but they’re not motivated to perform as they’re on massive wages regardless of performance related bonuses. The only answer is to get rid of the players and get new young players in. Obviously the Glazers/Woodward need to go, even if they sold up the new owners would have to gut the team anyway. I’d take a few more seasons of pain in order to get this shitshow back on track.
Of the current squad, I’d only deem the following players safe, not indispensible, but safe:
Fred (is improving)
Martial (is improving but needs to maintain it).
That’s not a top 4 side by any stretch of the imagination and it’s very young. We do need to buy one or two older players to come in and take control of the changing room, to impose a sense of professionalism and professional pride.
I’m not fully convinced by OGS either to be honest, I’d like to be but I’m not anymore. I don’t think Allegri is the man either, too defensive although his pedigree is good. Poch maybe, I’d be more inclined to look to Nagelsmann or someone instead.January 7, 2020 at 9:36 am #1814043

I think now for the positions we need. We should target some top continental players. We have a few British players in the team, but we need that magic now. This is something the new signings have to provide.January 7, 2020 at 10:06 am #1814058
I think Cantwell from Norwich would be a good buy to be honest. He’s done extremely well in a poor team and could add that ‘magic’ we need in midfield. He’ll also chip in with a few goals which our midfield is in dire need of at the moment.January 7, 2020 at 10:29 am #1814073
Dani Olmo? Young, technical, quick and 34 million. Let’s some young exciting talent in ffs.January 7, 2020 at 10:33 am #1814079
I think he’s pretty much said he wants to go back to Barcelona. However, Barca have said they won’t be moving for him before the summer and he said he wants to move to put himself in the picture for the Spanish Euro squad which he won’t be if he continues to play in Croatia. If we move now, this window, we might get him but if we wait until the summer, we won’t.January 7, 2020 at 12:36 pm #1814139
killy-Apart from the youngsters, all the rest of the squad should be up for sale,so:
The rest can & should be made available for sale now as it might be too late soon, for a few of em.We are royally fooked with Maguire,so maybe Maguire back for that Turkish lad @ Leicester???January 7, 2020 at 12:38 pm #1814140
L.Jovic,Isco and £50m from Real Madrid for Pogba,should be doable.Then invest that money on D.v.d.Beek.January 7, 2020 at 2:22 pm #1814198
Glowing reports about this player:
Lille have told Manchester United that in-demand midfielder Boubakary Soumare will only be available for the next 10 days and have been informed he will be taken off the market if his €50m asking price is not met in that time.January 7, 2020 at 2:24 pm #1814204
@redblood, I said safe, meaning we’d keep them but if a really good offer came in we’d consider a saleJanuary 7, 2020 at 2:49 pm #1814218
zico-Another Bakayoko? Or another Makelele?January 7, 2020 at 3:35 pm #1814260
Good question, is he a Bakayoko or a Makelele? Either way, we won’t be in for him, he’s not English and overpriced. Not sure about Jovic redblood and you can forget V De Beek mate, not English and overpriced.January 7, 2020 at 3:41 pm #1814262
There’s no real quality proper English central midfielders, we’ll have to look abroad for one. The Longstaffs are inexperienced and over-priced, Rice is over-priced. Maddison and Cantwell play further up.January 7, 2020 at 3:45 pm #1814263
Maddison is one of the most overpriced players today. And D.Rice for £80m? Stay well clear of em both.January 7, 2020 at 4:35 pm #1814282
Well if we can see it, let’s just hope good old Ole can too eh?January 7, 2020 at 6:09 pm #1814292

The bar has been lowered significantly at United and it doesn’t look like any employee – be it a player, manager, coach or executive – needs to be considered qualified in any sort of way.
For players, the only requirement is to be able to walk (barely if you’re Phil Jones). The manager has to be able to get the odd result in “beginner mode” in the latest FIFA game (seriously, it looks like Ole can’t differentiate because pace is usually the ONLY thing that matters in video games). The coaches have to be able to sit down for 2 hours straight and have a vocabulary consisting only of the words “yes” and “nepotism”.
Finally, executives, directors and owners need to have a rough idea that football is usually played outdoors and that each team has somewhere between 5 and 15 players on the pitch. More importantly, though, they need to be able to come up with clever hashtags so they can be best buddies with the players and their agents.
If you meet any of said requirements, why not apply for a job at United? You might become a player, manager, coach or executive – it’s all the same. Everyone is going down the toilet together.January 8, 2020 at 11:47 am #1814507
Rumours of Donny van der Beek on Utd’s radar this January. He’d be a good signing, yes?
